Guesthouse holiday rentals in South Kona

This is our second time staying at Mango cottage. The location for snorkeling is unbeatable, and Puako is such a peaceful little town. Less than 5 min walk to the snorkeling at the keyhole at the end of the road. The cottage is comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The outdoor shower is lovely, and it was so fun to hear mangoes falling on the roof and “catching” them fresh. A/C in the bedroom helped a lot. Scott is a considerate host. Was sad to leave, would love to come back soon.

Sharon and Mark were so sweet! We got a little tour and lots of great conversation with them! It was cozy and a beautiful location.

We love this area. We stayed for several weeks and loved it. The bed is super comfy and the elevation is perfect - no AC needed but still just 15 minutes to most things. loved it!

I can’t say enough good things about this home. It’s located conveniently, has everything you could need while spending some time on the big island, and has the most beautiful view. My husband and I enjoyed looking out at the gorgeous view over coffee every morning, which was such a great way to enjoy the home’s lanai. Karrie is a great host, communicates well, and helped us to feel right at home. Her sweet pup Scout hangs around the property and was a great bonus for two folks missing their dog :) I highly recommend this home!

Stepping out of my car, I was greeted by Karen and we walked through the magical lights towards my place for the night. There was a little “welcome Annie” sign at the door. Karen then walked me down to the beach to see where I could snorkel in the morning. This museum like home is full of LOVE. Art, Elephants, surf boards, even a buddha gong. Unfortunately for me, it was also full of little spider roommates that hung high above the bathroom and bedroom. The occasional spider is okay, but to have that many eyes on me was unnerving. I couldn’t stay a second night. I know, I know….I have an unnatural fear. I didn’t see any other friends. I would stay here again if I was with someone else. The bed was super comfy…. and the shower was heavenly. That was the best part for me! The fridge and stove were dirty so I opted out of eating there. ‘The Coffee Shack’, is a very delicious restaurant with an amazing view!! Call ahead to get on the waitlist.

FABULOUS!! This was the most perfect landing spot for my vacation to Kona. This cottage is about 30 mins up the mountain from Kona. There’s breeze, ocean views and the jungle sounds at night at absolutely magical! The house is private, clean and spacious with plenty of outdoor space. We would stay here again in an instant!

If you are looking for a beautiful peaceful taste of Hawaiian paradise, this is the place. Day and night you enjoy creation like never before. We highly recommend this place and look forward to stay there again. Ken and Lori are very nice people, hospitable and very attentive to your needs.

Such a beautiful home and property! Having windows open and waking up to the sounds of nature is so Hawaii. The home is beautiful and the property as well. Vogue could easily do photo shoots on this property and capture the essence of Hawaii. Loved everything about this place.

Essentially your own little home with the most beautiful view of Kailua-Kona. We stayed just one night after our tour of the Big Island before heading to the airport the next afternoon, but this would be a great spot to park it for a whole week as a base camp. We hit up the Manta Ray tour at Manta Ray Advocates the night before and came back to a relaxing soak in the hot tub and stargazing afterwards. Fully stocked kitchen and pretty much any condiment you'd need in the fridge. And we really appreciated the chance to do some laundry midway through our trip to Hawaii.

I highly recommend, especially if you are looking for beautiful outdoor space and something close to the Volcanoes National Park!

We had a very lovely stay at this charming cottage! You can spend some relaxing days there and reach the beautiful beaches north of Kona easily by car. The cottage was very well equipped and very clean.

The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Having in unit laundry was super convenient, and the kitchen was well equipped, there was even an air fryer. Brandee was super friendly and helpful, and shared a lot of useful info. Would definitely recommend!

It's a very pretty and comfortable house just like the pictures! I can feel that Cate is a house that has been thought and decorated a lot from the customer's point of view. It's a really neatly maintained house. It was well-equipped with an induction stove and a coffee pot, microwave oven, etc., so it was good to cook and eat. There were all the equipment such as bodyboard snorkels that I needed in the sea, so I was able to use it comfortably, and there was a washing machine and dryer. The delicacy of preparing detergent and dryer sheets!!! Thanks to you, it was pleasant. It's on a hill, but you can get to the sea and grocery store in 15-20 minutes, so the accessibility was good. It was nice that the communication went well quickly, and I happened to see the puppy, and it was so cute! I hope everyone is healthy and happy, and I want to come again if I have a chance! Thank you:)

If you want peaceful, beautiful, far from the crazy crowds of Kailua accommodations, Glenn's charming Chameleon Suite is for you. He is an attentive and very informative host, whocan provide you with a wealth of knowledge about sites to see and dinning options. Everyplace that we eat at that he recommended were superb. He is a botanical wizard whose land is truly a garden of earthly delights. Be prepared to do some driving to reach some of the attractions and dining spots, but it is well worth it. We would love to return.

Airbnb stay in Kona was fantastic! The place was just as described; very clean and comfortable. The location was pretty centralized for Kona and in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Our host was flexible with check in and allowing us to use extra amenities like the laundry. Def recommend for a couple of people looking for a spot to rest at in Kona.

Great location, close to town and the highway when getting around the Kona side of the island. The space is small, but everything Hannah stocked was useful items for the trip including beach chairs, a fridge, coffee maker, all the things you would want! The space is quiet and the AC was awesome for sleeping. Would absolutley stay here again.

We loved our stay at Julya's place! The lanai is everything! I will definitely try to stay here next time I'm in Kona.

We stayed at the Ranch for a solid week. This place is so nice and peaceful, the sounds of the frogs and the crickets lull you to sleep. The beds are comfortable and it had all amenities you could want. The way it is situated it has a nice ocean breeze that constantly keeps the place at the perfect temperature all time. When we arrived, we were greeted by the pups who would check up on us regularly during the trip. Dino would even come in for a short visit. The cows were great to visit throughout the day. They love the Ti leaves and there’s so many plants to pick and feed them. Deborah and Steve live on the property, and it’s like having the best neighbors ever. Never felt like they were to close but they were always there to help and guide. They are such amazing hosts, for sure the best hosts I’ve come across in all my travels. There is no doubt when we return to Hilo we will be staying at the Broken Dog Ranch and if there is no availability we will be just going up to say hi!!

What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. My mom and I really enjoyed the surroundings and the wonderful hosts. We appreciated Kayo and Roby allowing us to have our working dog stay with us at the rental. We hope to visit again in the future.

Gigi and Marc are wonderful hosts with all the amenities at this adorable cottage. We definitely felt at home. Hawaiian Volcanoes NP is right down the road. The landscaping around the cottage is beautiful and private.

Highly recommend this place, very clean, and well decorated. There was enough room for two and the bathroom is a beautiful design/set up. We enjoyed the recommendations they had in the guest book. Would recommend anyone to stay here. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle on the main drive but close enough to a main road for easy travel to the rest of Kona.

If you are planning on spending time at Volcano National Park - stay here! Lily and Brian were helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Hospitality was top notch. We enjoyed the indoor-outdoor lifestyle so much! Everything was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was set up to cook really anything you could want. We spent the mornings before our hikes in the infrared sauna and outdoor shower. Followed by espresso on the deck. We got sweet hellos any goodbyes from the well-behaved family dogs. Lazy Acres is a truly special place. We cannot wait to return! So much more I could say but just trust you will love this place. Experience it for yourself!!
