Beach house holiday rentals in Southern Maine Coast

We had such a great stay here! The house is in a beautiful location on a super cute lake and we were able to sit outside and go on the paddle boat. Amy was super responsive and helpful. The house was very comfortable and clean! Would definitely stay again.

We had a great week at the cabin! The view is amazing and it was so relaxing. Courtney was very responsive and attentive. Highly recommend for a cozy getaway in a beautiful setting.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful beachfront home with our extended family, including a total of 6 adults and 5 kids. We had two additional adults spend one night, there was plenty of room for everyone. The house was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly suited for a group of our size. The location is unbeatable, right on Drakes Island Beach, with incredible views and direct access to the sand. While we didn’t go in the water, we spent plenty of time relaxing on the beach, walking along the shore, and enjoying the peaceful setting. The home was clean, well-maintained, and stocked with everything we needed. The large deck and open living spaces gave us plenty of room to spend time together and unwind. This was a perfect spot for a relaxing family getaway, and we’d absolutely return again. Highly recommended!

We loved staying at this location! The setting was private and peaceful. The house was beautiful and it seemed like they had thought of everything. It was great to have the canoe and kayaks and of course we also loved the indoor and outdoor showers and indoor and outdoor fire options. This place was a splurge but I would say definitely worth it!

We spent the weekend here catching up with friends and couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The house was cozy and welcoming from the moment we arrived, with beautiful views all around. We’re so thankful we got to stay and make the most of it. There’s so much to do nearby, and it’s just a quick drive to Portsmouth, NH, which has so many great places to explore. Rachel also shared some fantastic recommendations that made our trip even better.

This beautiful lake front home was a great space for our group (8 adults, 1 infant, dog)! Plenty of space for everyone to gather, inside or outside. Lake amenities were such a plus! Carl and other co-hosts were so responsive leading up to our stay and during!

My husband, our puppy, and I had a fantastic stay at this property! While we ran into some technical issues with the fireplace, Darryl went above and beyond to get it fixed—even during Father’s Day weekend, which we really appreciated. The home itself was wonderful: beautiful lake views from the front deck through large glass doors, an open layout with a cozy sofa, TV, and fireplace connected to the kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms. As much as we loved the indoor space, we had an even better time outside—grilling, kayaking, hanging out by the fire pit at night, and fishing. Our dog had the time of his life running freely around the yard. One night, we even had a wild nature moment when we heard some intense animal sounds echoing through the trees—definitely a memorable experience! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax, explore, and enjoy both comfort and adventure. We are definitely going back, perhaps grilling some Brazilian BBQ to Darryl and his family!

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful lakefront home! The house is spacious and well-stocked, with plenty of room for everyone to relax, including a great kitchen and big dining table perfect for shared meals and games. The private access to the lake was absolutely incredible, with a dock, beach area, and fun water gear like kayaks, a paddle boat, and floaties. Falling asleep to the sound of the water lapping and hearing loons call at night was truly magical. The property feels very private and quiet, and the host and local manager were incredibly warm and responsive. It’s a pretty remote area, so best to come prepared with groceries and a plan to fully unplug and unwind "at home." Lake life at its best!

House is clean and comfortable and steps away from the beach. We were there on a rainy quiet weekend and enjoyed retreating to the nice warm house.

Wonderful family vacation! This is our second year staying at Erinn’s place and it was perfect. The house it bright, clean, and cheery with lots of space for everyone. The beach is gorgeous and easily accessible. The deck is a relaxing place to unwind and relax throughout the day. Erinn is very responsive and a great host!

Absolutely gorgeous location and the house is truly a home. exactly what I love about Airbnb. If we're in the area again I'll be checking here first.

I want to thank Gary for allowing us to rent his beautiful house. This house has everything he describes and more, it was spacious enough for us and we felt right at home, the area is super calm and surrounded by nature plus he is an excellent host. If we ever visit again we will hope to stay at his house again as it is a wonderful house.

So enjoyed our stay at 32 Barrell…. So quiet… loved being able to walk to beach.. wiggly bridge/island… loved porch to sit on…can’t wait to come back Maurice was great to work with 👍.. no issues at all…

We had a delightful stay in Ann & Mike’s home. Walking to the front door, we were greeted by a beautiful, peaceful garden. Their home is well-appointed, clean and uncluttered, with ocean views throughout. We relaxed in the cozy living room, watching the bay through the thoughtfully provided binoculars. The kitchen had the basics for cooking and baking and the dining room easily seated us all. We were steps from rocky Back Beach, a 4-minute walk to sandy Front Beach, a 7-minute walk to explore Main Street and Bearskin Neck restaurants, shops, galleries and bookstores. This home accommodated 5 easily, with comfortable beds, crisp sheets, soft pillows and comforters, with mirrors and air conditioners in each bedroom. The bedrooms and the full bathroom (tub-shower combo) are up a narrow, steep staircase. This is a truly lovely historic home with thoughtfully designed decor. Our hosts were very friendly and checked in to see if we needed anything. We were sad to leave.

Quintessentially Maine! Loved everything about the house and location. Plenty of room for the four of us, lots of extras like beach chairs and bikes to use. Loved the location, easy walk to the beach and a sweet view of the ocean from the sun room. Louise was very kind and quick to answer our questions and was a wonderful host. Would definitely stay here again!
