Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Southern Maryland

Connie’s place was great! Looked just like the photos. The house was clean and in a great area. Nice and friendly neighbors. We enjoyed the community beaches that are super close, clean and dog friendly. It was a prefect weekend trip. We would book here again!

The house location is very private and secluded. We had an issue with the WiFi on the first night and Eric came out and reset it for us and it worked perfectly the rest of the time. The view is amazing and watching the Bald Eagle fly overhead and deer come through the yard were some of our favorites. The turtles on the log right down the road were a daily favorite as well.

This was our second year in a row visiting Julya’s place! Our family loved it so much last year we booked as soon as we could for this season. The house was just as beautiful as we remembered, the kids even said it felt like home the second day. All the thoughtful things included are so nice (blackout shades for the kids, all the kids kitchen stuff, extras for all usable items, beach items). And we love the location! Easy to get to activities, we very much enjoyed the marine museum, the Imaginarium, fishing on the shea-d-lady, and sailing with Sail Solomons. Island Hideway was huge hit with the whole family for dinner. The house is an easy walk to the beach and the view is so cool, feels like a beach treehouse. Will hopefully be back again next year (if not at the end of this season!) 😁 Thank you Julya!!

We had such a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, peaceful, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The layout was perfect for spending quality time together while still giving everyone space to unwind. Private beach access made it even more special—we made great memories, met some lovely neighbors, and even had a chance to paddle board and spot a stingray! Huge shout-out to Leigh, our amazing host—so thoughtful, responsive, and kind. We’re so grateful for the experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Scott and Melinda's place was perfect for a peaceful getaway for our family of 5. The water was so nice to wake up to and fall asleep hearing the water move by! The thought of all the basic needs and had everything easily accessible from fresh eggs from their chickens, a great variety of coffee pods and creamer, and all the other small needs that come up while staying in an airbnb. This was great since it is off the beaten path. If you are looking for some peaceful family time or a secluded retreat with friends, this is a perfect place!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The house itself is spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. It was fully stocked with everything I needed — from kitchen essentials to high-quality linens. The beds were super comfortable, and there were more than enough towels and washcloths for everyone. One of the standout features was the in-home gym — much more equipped than I expected, which was such a bonus! The second floor, where the bedrooms are located, felt like a private retreat, and the land surrounding the property was both aesthetically stunning and very peaceful. This home truly exceeded expectations. I would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this perfect River House. The place was warm and comforting, with some of the most amazing views you can find. We arrived shortly after check in time, and easily let ourselves in with the lock box code & key. Everything inside looked just like the pictures, and we weren't disappointed! If you're looking for some beautiful river views, right on the water, with your own private water access and dock, this is the place for you. We were in town for a wedding a few houses down, and this place couldn't have been any better for us. We were able to walk to & from, which was a huge bonus for after the reception...Cheers :) We enjoyed eating out a couple times in town, and really liked Brick Wood Fired Bistro & Traders Seafood Steak & Ale. We would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful river stay, and will surely return someday in the future! Thanks for your hospitality!

We went to Southern Maryland to celebrate our 44th Wedding Anniversary as it was where we met back in high school. We were greeted at Tom & Michele’s place with a sweet chalkboard message, flowers and a nice little cake to help us feel special and celebrated. That was very kind. Their apartment is extremely clean and very comfortable. The backyard is absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. We didn’t need help with navigating the area as we grew up there so we spent most of our time visiting places from our youth. Tom & Michele reached out to us during our visit to make sure we were doing okay. We are quiet people and don’t require a lot of assistance so it was nice to be asked but we were good. For us it was nice to have a chance to spend quiet time alone together and Tom & Michele gave us that. Should we find ourselves back in Southern MD we would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a wonderful visit ♥️

We loved staying here! Such a peaceful and beautiful neighborhood. We were able to walk to and from the zoo so easily which was perfect for us. The driving distance to go sightsee in D.C. was not bad either and the street parking was very convenient. Chris was always reachable in case we had any questions. Definitely would rebook here again!

This is the best Airbnb we’ve stayed at. Everything you could think of was provided. Very clean. Great instructions and Guest Guide. Large 1 bedroom/1 bath basement apartment.

We can’t say enough about how much we loved visiting Pat & Nell’s Airbnb. The place was secluded away from the hustle of everyday life with a friendly, quiet neighborhood that has a walking trail close to the house, a mini beach & dock. The house was charmingly decorated and had everything we needed for the stay. My husband was happy with the comfort of the bed and sofa. The dogs and I enjoyed morning coffee on the screened in porch.

I stayed at Smirna's place with my fiance and sister for a few days and it worked well for three adults. The space was comfortable, well equipped, and very well maintained. Check-in was a breeze. The location is an easy drive from the Dulles airport and has good access to the highway into downtown DC as well as the DC metro and a number of nice suburban communities. The spot was perfect for us and I would recommend it to other travelers.

Great place to stay and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Host was super communicative and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Only thing I'd suggest is to buy longer shower curtains because the entire bathroom floor would get wet every time we used the shower.

This was a beautiful place to stay. Isabella was so nice and helpful anytime I had questions or concerns. There were nice little shops and restaurants within walking distance. The scenery was just gorgeous. Thank you so much for so a great stay!

I was here to finish up my internship after an emergency move was needed from my previous apartment. It exceeded expectations. From small details like putting a bottle of wine out with a note to big details like a full guidebook of the area - Uches place was fabulous. The care was a breath of fresh air in comparison to many other experiences. Would absolutely recommend

My daughter will be having a baby soon and have been looking for a place close by for when I visit. This is it!!! It is affordable, clean and decorated beautifully. So relaxing, usually I can't sleep well in hotels but slept well here.

I had a fantastic stay at Willie’s place in Arlington! The home was spotless, cozy, and exactly as described—actually, even better. The location was super convenient, with easy access to public transportation, restaurants, and shops, yet it was in a quiet, safe neighborhood that made for a relaxing stay. Willie was an exceptional host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. He made check-in and check-out a breeze and even offered great local recommendations. The space had everything I needed, from a comfortable bed to a fully equipped kitchen and fast Wi-Fi. It really felt like a home away from home. I’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the Arlington/DC area. Thanks again, Willie!

This our second time staying here is the last year and we will again. The hosts are amazing, it is in the middle of the downtown area and walkable to everything.

Great apartment! Sean’s apartment is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. It is completely quiet at night and the bed is good. There is a good vibe in the neighbourhood and the apartment is less than five minutes from a Green Line metro station that will take you directly to the best art museums in the city. Sean and his co-hosts are very helpful and responsive. I hope to come back to Washington one day and if that happens, I will definitely try to book Sean’s apartment again. Thank you Sean, Megan and Loren for all your helpfulness and a lovely stay!

Great space in a perfect location in Old Town. Starbucks on the same block, Trader Joe’s quick walk, close to King Street and the water. Place matched pictures and I would love to stay there again when I’m in the area.

Cheri and Cliff were awesome hosts! They were helpful, informative, and friendly. They have a beautiful place that is very clean and walkable to many places. Highly recommend and would stay again!
