Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. The farm has old woodland glens with our very own gorge, ponds which attract a variety of birds and open hill land with a cairn overlooking the town of Moffat.

Only 5 minutes off the motorway (1.5 hr from Edinburgh,1 hr from Glasgow & 45mins from Carlisle) it's a perfect en route stopover but even better for a week! Welcome!

Come and relax in Bell Cottage, with beautiful views and a private garden. There are lots of opportunities for walking, cycling, kayaking and wild swimming in the area, or if you fancy popping into the city, Edinburgh is an hour away. The Wee Crook Cafe is a short walk away, open 10 am to 4 pm for lovely breakfasts and lunches. There is a lovely shop in Broughton (6 miles) , Biggar is 12.5 miles away, Moffat is 16 miles, and Peebles is 17 miles, all with dog-friendly pubs!
