The skiing and hiking areas in the Thuringian Forest (Oberhof with international competition venues and Schmiedefeld) are easily accessible by car in 20-30 minutes as well as by public transport.

In winter, there are also opportunities for skiing/sledding and cross-country skiing. The apartment is very well connected and is a perfect stopover for trips to the south/north. The highway is just a few minutes' drive away.
