Al and Claudine were friendly, approachable, and professional right from the moment we arrived. I would highly recommend Commanda Lake Resort to anyone looking to get away from it all.

This was our third time staying here and as always the accommodations were clean and the pool and hot tub were a hit! Great location, walking distance to downtown restaurants and activities.

Cecilia and Mabel were wonderful hosts. The property is as described and has a lot of activities. We wanted a few extra adult life jackets for kayaking and she helped arrange it the same day. A ton of board games, outdoor activities for all age groups. Loved our stay!

We booked under the general listing (Having not realized that there were more specific ones) so Dan was kind enough to choose a cottage based on what he believed would be appropriate for the temperatures and time of year. And when we met down in the driveway upon arrival, he was immediately very friendly and we had a great conversation, and he directed us up to our cabin which was an excellent choice, beautiful view of the lake, nice amount of shade, beautiful inside (looked like it had recently had some updates as well), very clean, and very well-appointed - full amenities, very comfortable space…more like a home than a cottage. Had a lovely conversation with Pam while we were checking out. We greatly enjoyed our experience and hope to return next year!

The place is great. About 20-25 minutes from New Liskeard, which has everything you need, including great restaurant, 28 on the Lake. The view from the cottage/veranda is beautiful. Cottage has its own boat ramp, which worked well for us. The hot tub was amazing, we really used it a lot. The sauna also worked well. Cottage was clean and everything worked. And, finally, Katrin was extremely fast with her responses and her answers were always helpful.

Great spot, beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. No complaints, would book again. Booking was a little confusing as it ran through the company and airbnb. But it makes sense as the cottage is apart of a larger family business. Very helpful staff and extremely accommodating.

This was our second time coming here. We are a family of four with young kids and really enjoy being on the lake so we were happy to see that the place was available when we returned to North bay. The lake is the best part of the rental. The property is spacious.

I had an amazing experience during my stay. It truly felt like being in the heart of a forest, surrounded by beautiful rivers and nature. The activities offered were well organized and enjoyable, making our time there even more special. The stay was comfortable and relaxing. Jess and Mike’s place on Bear Island is the perfect place for a family get-away! We had a lovely week by the water and spent our days canoeing, paddle boarding, doing yoga on the dock, and hiking the nearby old growth forest trails in Temagami! On the rainy days we curled up and watched a movie in comfort. The cottage was clean and cozy and it was a bonus to have clean sheets, towels and a full cupboard in case we forgot anything! Thanks so much, Jess and Mike for sharing your piece of paradise! We hope to be back next summer!

My family spent the weekend here to celebrate a milestone birthday. The cabin had all the rooms that we needed, and 2 kitchens! This place has everything we needed. You know how a lot of rentals have a lot of exclusions like you have to bring your own pillows, bed sheets, towels, drinking water and others? We didn't need to worry about that stuff! The lake is a short walk and they have canoes, kayaks, life jackets, and boat kits provided. And they have wood for the campfire. Lots of hotdogs and marshmallows have been toasted! The cabin is charming and so homey! They have wifi and TV. Books to read & board games to play. Nadene and Darren are great hosts. Nadene prepared continental breakfast for us each morning. What a lovely gesture! The smell of fresh muffins and fresh coffee fills the room. They have made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will definitely come back! This is one of those hidden gems that you'll truly enjoy spending family get together.

We had a truly delightful stay at this beautiful property. The host was kind, thoughtful, and extended their goodwill in every possible way, ensuring we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our visit. The space itself was exceptionally clean, spacious, and charming - full of that cozy cottage character we were hoping for. We were a group of 13, and the property accommodated us perfectly. There were plenty of fun activities to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors, making it an ideal setting for a getaway. The nearby lake was absolutely stunning and added to the peaceful and scenic atmosphere of the small town. The townspeople themselves were warm and friendly, contributing to the overall pleasant experience. A heartfelt thank you to the host—we genuinely appreciated your hospitality and would happily return.

Bowhey’s is such a special place. All the amenities, clean cabins, staff is always busy working on something to make it even more beautiful. Ian is so great and laid back. Saturday night karaoke should not be missed! We will definitely be back.

Beautiful view of the West Bay! Cottage was very clean and well equipped. Friendly, laid back people were staying in nearby cottages and trailers. We went to the Lavigne Tavern down the road for supper and had an excellent meal and service. Likewise, picking up ice cream from the corner store. Very friendly, warm, relaxed town - we'll be back!

Ian is a great host very friendly and professional. Amenities are well kept from the swimming pool to the fish cleaning hut, you can buy even premium gas for your boat and enjoy a Saturday evening karaoke. Definitely we will come back again.

What a little slice of heaven! Highly recommend Bowhey's particularly for families. Among the best features: The wraps (totally creative), the access to the dock, the pool (very large pool) and karaoke night (so much fun!). For just a week, I was able to have my son experience life like I did in the 80s and 90s. He met new friends, played games in the pool and outside and just enjoyed a simpler pace. If this is what you're looking for, Bowhey's is for you!

My first time experiencing cottage life. Ian and his family are good hosts. My children loved Ian. This resort felt very safe. The people that were there were very kind and friendly. it was not overwhelming, it was just right. You do have to bring your own pillows and linen. My suggestion, bring a fan. keep you cool at night. There is hot water. Karaoke night was a lot of fun. no judgement. Ian has a big variety of music. If you are coming from the GTA, you are looking at about 5 to 6 hours of travel time depending on traffic. We didn't get to do the trails because our kids wanted to swim in the pool all day. However, there are trails around the area. Canoeing was a lot of fun and the paddle boards were a challenge but a lot of fun too. There is fire wood present for you to use if you want to make a bonfire. There is a convenience store down the street. They sell essential groceries, beer, liquor, first aid and hot food. Some of his cabins have a really good view of the lake.

Loved our stay. Ian was fantastic and friendly. Great location with everything we could ask for.

My family and I had a nice cozy experience staying on Ian's yacht. We relished the lake views, the dock, the stars, and the sunset, as well as the opportunity to cast our fishing line directly off the bow.

My 5-year-old daughter and I were on a road trip and we booked this very last minute. it was definitely the highlight of the trip and wish we would have stayed a couple of extra days. the water was beautiful in the evening with the sunset.
