Santa Monica Mountains/ Topanga Guesthouse The studio apartment boasts a well-equipped kitchen with full refrigerator for plenty of storage, two induction cooktops, one microwave, a Breville electric oven/toaster and an outdoor gas grill. Have your dinner on a private redwood deck and patio, shaded by coast live oak trees. The rental has oak hardwood floors, walk in shower and all new fixtures throughout. Quiet A/C and heat with a designated private guest parking space included. Enjoy easy access to many local beaches and endless mountain trails for hiking and biking in Mediterranean climate conditions. Malibu and Topanga Beaches have world-class surfing conditions. Site seeing, restaurants and tourism abound. Santa Monica/Venice and the Los Angeles area is easy to access. Charming and clean with a comfortable queen sized bed, this 220 square foot space with private deck is perfect for couples. Use of the grounds with over thirty oak trees makes for a delightful getaway or stop over while traveling. We provide maps and advice regarding hidden beaches and locations in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Malibu Creek State Park and access to Cultural activities in the city of Los Angeles. Children and pets are negotiable. The Guesthouse shares a breezeway with the main house. It has its own private entrance and peaceful private patio deck area. Guests privacy is our priority. Once contacted, we are open to children traveling with parents, although there is only one bed. Dogs will be considered so long as they are not aggressive to our cats. No pets are allowed on the furniture. Although the property is on a residential street, it is very much part of the wild land, intermixed with deer, coyotes, and bobcats as well as migrating birds and butterflies. We provide one designated parking space. A car is somewhat necessary in the mountains. There is a seasonal beach bus which travels along State Route 27, Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Uber and Lyft are spotted more commonly of late. Buses run along Pacific Coast Highway from Malibu to downtown. The new EXPO train is available is Santa Monica, connecting travelers to many city locations. Once here, endless hiking and walking possibilities under the oaks and into the chaparral and coastal sage is available on foot. The hosts are well versed in the native habitat here and can advise travelers.

An easy drive from the city, this bijou duplex pays homage to Gypset style and boasts rural canyon views, a yoga platform, private entry, and off-street parking. Quietly kept this space in the canyon lends itself to people whom are looking to read, write, relax, unwind, yoga, reflect..... feeling like you want to be on the property hiking all around ( Red Rock Trail Hike 4 min drive ) the property backs to a Creek’s Edge. Mountain View’s everywhere. 10 minute drive to the middle of the canyon brings you to local shops, small local market, artesian restaurants, art galleries and other Topanga staple businesses. Guest have access to the complete guest suite: (Bedroom , bathroom, common living space and kitchenette) Outside table and chairs provide a semi private sitting area as well as deck on roof with Mountain View’s. Washer and dryer in separate area are also available upon request to guest if need be. This property has other units on site.... We live on the property and are welcoming to all. Topanga is a short drive from the Malibu coastline, renowned for surf spots and beautiful beaches. Head toward Calabasas to find San Fernando Valley's fabulous shopping and restaurants. Hollywood and Santa Monica are both a picturesque drive away. It is highly recommended that you have a car to get around. We are nestled in the middle of Old Topanga Canyon. Los Angeles and it’s surrounding areas have great public transportation and Uber and Lyft do come in and out of the canyon but a car is a must given our proximity to outside areas. *** important to know: the Driveway is a little steep. The first time you come down can be a little daunting. Feel free to find parking at the top of the property first time down, or trust that you have plenty of space to turn around and park in front of your rental***

We would like to offer people from all over the world visiting Los Angeles a place to relax after intense sightseeing tours or after a long work day. We created a little suite that has a separate bedroom, a separate living room, and a private bathroom with amazing views of the valley hills and the city right by the pool. Just have a glass of wine at the end of our back yard on top of the hill and watch the moon and stars, do a few laps in the pool, or just watch a movie in your own living room.

(Feb 2025- The Topanga village and homes were spared from the Palisades fire.) Topanga is a quiet village in the Santa Monica Mountains. Its name means “Where the mountains meet the sea”. We are in an ancient oak forest in beautiful nature just walking distance to Topanga State Park and its hiking trails. It’s only 10 min to the beach/Malibu and 20 min to Santa Monica/Venice or Woodland Hills. The town center with restaurants, grocery stores, gift shops and our library are close.
