Modern furnished studio in the center of water sports village Grou. The studio is located in the heart of Grou. When you step out the door, you are directly between the terraces and shops, walk about 100m further and you will be at the Pikmeer where you will find opportunities to rent a (sail)boat. After a nice day in the area, plop down on the sofa or outside in the sheltered and sunny south-facing garden. From the living room you step into the bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a rain shower.

The house offers three bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom. It’s understated elegant interiors have been published in the UK House and Garden and the Residence interior magazines. Guests get to use the grand blue room with velvet clad walls and the souterrain kitchen with wood burning stove. There is a peaceful city garden with BBQ and outdoor seating. In the winter one can enjoy cosy evenings besides the various fireplaces, long dinners in the kitchen or baths in one of the bathrooms.

Lyts Kastieltsje, a quiet cottage in an orchard

Lyts Kastieltsje is a short walk from the Waddenzee, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the largest tidal area on Earth. The cottage was once part of the cooling barn for the old fruit farm. It is surrounded by just over a hectare of gardens, orchards and meadow which provide a home for our three sheep, bees and many species of birds. The orchards contain plum, quince, medlar and different varieties of apple and pear trees. We also share the place our dog Jack, 10 ducks and some chickens.

The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, stove, oven + microwave. The beds are made and towels are provided. A private hot tub with massage jets is available for use.

Here in the quiet Frisian Rohel, you can really be outside, feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin. Cycling and walking along the meadows and (cold) swimming in the Tjeukemeer. Drink a glass of wine on the terrace by the water, with the view of infinity, under the old fruit trees in the garden. Apart from the sounds of birds, the rustling of the wind and in the distance a tractor, you hear nothing at all here. The sunsets can be amazingly beautiful here.

Kom tot rust in een oase van groen van voorjaar tot begin najaar, een prachtig warm herfstgevoel wanneer de bomen van kleur veranderen of de knusheid opzoeken in de wintermaanden. In de prachtige omgeving zijn veel plekken te bezoeken. Giethoorn, vestingstad Steenwijk en de Havelterheide. Verder zijn er drie nationale parken in de buurt, NP Weerribben Wieden, het Drents Friese Wold en het Dwingelderveld.
