Lake house holiday rentals in Upper Peninsula of Michigan

Dan & Beth said they wanted us to feel at home and we certainly did! We had 7 adults in our group & we talked about the house & cost to stay there. We all agreed it was absolutely worth every cent. Dan couldn’t have been more helpful whenever we reached out with a question. Being right on the beach was magical. Fires at night with a plentiful supply of dry wood was a nice surprise! Anything you could possibly think of was at our disposal! Even the refrigerator was pristine, which in my experience, doesn’t always happen in a rental. We will miss Sandvik house!

The beach cottage is unbelievable. While the indoor space is relatively small, it is maximized! The outdoor space is private and amazing! The setup on the deck and the beach is exactly what a Lake Michigan retreat should be. 5 minutes Leland and 15 minutes to Glen Arbor makes the location unbeatable. Definitely will be back!

This stay was everything we could have hoped for in an AIRBNB. The home is attractive and well appointed, with all the essentials you could possibly need. It’s sparkly clean. It has a wonderful view from every direction. The guide for guests made it so easy to use the mechanicals; and the host is very responsive. Make sure to walk the beach every day. We did! So amazing!!

This home was beautiful! It had an amazing view right off of the water. We spent a lot of our time on the river and was incredibly convenient if you’re wanting to go fishing and bring a boat because they have a dock where we tied our boat up. They provided a bunch of recommendations for around the area which was really helpful. It was a beautiful home and an incredible trip if you’re looking for a nice getaway!

This is an incredible place. Peaceful, with beautiful views of Lake Superior, and the feeling that you have a quiet space to yourself, but with plenty of restaurants, cafes and things to do within ten minutes. I hope to make it back here again!

This location is great for privacy, beachfront views, and close to Cheboygan and Mackinaw. The kids enjoyed the coziness of the home and the yard to run in. Kitchen worked well to make snacks and air fryer meals or grilling. Hot tub is very clean! The start of this home is the beautiful bathroom. Fun tub for kiddos OR even better for a romantic getaway with lots of privacy.

We took our boys on a fishing trip and we all really enjoyed Jays place. Everything we could have needed was supplied, views were gorgeous and the dock on site made fishing everyday super convenient. We had some rain but found the cabin to be very relaxing & spacious with plenty of games and movies to keep the kids occupied! Jay was very helpful in sharing the best fishing holes and answering any questions promptly. We would be happy to stay here again, thanks Jay!

House was as described and the host put lots of thought into the little things. Very well stocked and very clean. Beds were comfortable. Centrally located for day trips. Sandy beach very close. Had a great time and would stay here again.

Perfect lakeside getaway! This lakehouse exceeded all our expectations! The property was immaculate and beautifully maintained - you can tell the owners take great pride in their home. Communication was seamless from booking through checkout, and they were incredibly responsive to any questions we had. The hot tub was amazing, we spent hours relaxing in it while taking in the stunning lake views. Having the beach just steps from the backyard was a game-changer for our family. The house had everything we needed and more. The location offers the perfect blend of relaxation and fun activities.

Fantastic home! We loved everything about this place. Lots of space for our family of six. House was clean, stocked with lots of amenities. Linens, towels, board games, books, kitchen supplies.. We loved the beautiful view, deck, fire pit, dock, paddle board and kayak. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

Had a wonderful time and the accommodations were great. Cabin had everything we needed and more, was perfect for our fishing trip! Will definitely stay again, the host Sherry and Bob are super nice people.

We were impressed by the comfort and welcome of the little red cabin. The hosts were wonderful, amenities plentiful and the cabin was cozy. We very much enjoyed the fire pit and the rocking Adirondack chairs. The outdoor space allowed us to soak up the sun and gain a quiet break from the city life. Easy to drive around this area + we really enjoyed our time spent at the cabin cooking meals and spending time with our dog (it was so amazing that there were bowls there for him). The location was perfect for us. We look forward to returning for another future visit.

Beautiful location, the pictures don’t do this place justice! Quiet place for a stay with your dogs. Lots of nature to enjoy in the surrounding areas. & some fun bars & food if you’re down for a bit of a drive. The only downfall was we felt the cabin was a little dirty with no products left out to clean with. We would still love to return in the future!

Beautiful house, extra amenities not listed in description. The beds were super comfortable, plush towels, kitchen was well stocked with pots & pans. Modern appliances and lots of space. We had a beautiful fire one evening. Would have gone kayaking but wasn't sure we would be able to get out of them w/o tipping over into the water. Lol. (There isnt a beach.) It was lovely looking out over the river. We enjoyed waking to the birds and watching the mist rise over the river. Unfortunately, "they" were tearing up the road to repave it when we arrived, so it wasn't the peaceful environment we were looking for. It was loud and so disruptive, the whole house would shake, and this went on over several days. Not much the hostess can do about that, of course, but very disappointing as my sister is recuperating from a serious illness. All in all, we would probably rent again if the need ever arose as the house and being on the river was beautiful.

We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely come back!!!!! We ate at the Pea Patch one evening and listened to some great live music Nearby grocery store was also very friendly and had everything we needed. Our dogs also loved the place as well :)

This house was so great! Private, lakefront, large decks, large bedrooms. Full finished basement. Wildlife galore. Very quiet lake. Hot tub was amazing — providing great sunset and lake views. Definitely be back — great place to explore the UP, Marquette, and all there is to do in the area.

Very modern space with all the amenities in quiet, natural surroundings. The home was in an area of upper Michigan that is in less-travelled with a quaint small town with good restaurants and small grocery store. All the more-travelled areas are in easy driving distance. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider going back!

Our family vacation was absolutely what we wanted on Washington Island, and especially at Essa's home! We wanted a quiet, relaxing place, and we definitely got that. We seriously felt like we were on a secluded island....didn't see one person until we drove to the other side of the island! If you are looking for a place to get away from the everyday hustle of life, Essa's place is where it's at. We got up in the mornings and had coffee and read on the 4 season's porch, sat on the beach, played games, watched movies, and had bonfires in the evening. The only bad thing....the week went to quickly!!!!

So many good things to say… Location was amazing, near Mt. Bohemia and surrounded by Michigan’s most dynamic landscapes. For the host, Karin had very clear instructions and quickly responded to any questions/chats. Karin and her co-hosts could teach masterclasses on running AirBnbs. We brought everything with us that we could think of (air fryer, rice steamer, nonstick pan, disposable coffee cups, etc.) and she already had every item ready for use. We took notes for updates on our home because this place was amazing. A summertime rental would probably be insane. You could tell the place had the outdoor area going on but we were there mid-February. Kudos to this place and its management!

This place is great and has amazing views. I didn’t get to fully enjoy the beach or lake because everything was frozen and covered in snow, but the hosts were great and cleared the driveway multiple times throughout my stay

The cabin was cozy and had great views. Parking is a bit limited if you have more than one vehicle but we made it work. Robert was great at responding to all my questions. There was also plenty of staples like salt, pepper, toilet paper, paper towel etc. I would definitely rent this place again.
