Stayed here as a single female and felt safe the entire time. The hot tub was the absolute best. I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

This is a darling little place in a quiet town. Mary went out of her way to make it super welcoming with local recommendations, snacks and just little homey touches everywhere. Also she had supplied everything I seemed to have forgotten on the trip. I especially loved how the kitchen had just the right basics to help us stay in and be able to cook simple things. Everything was so clean and comfortable. What a great host and a cute home.

Our stay was exceptional and exactly what we were looking for. The breathtaking view of the mountains in the background was truly stunning. The home felt peaceful, warm, and very clean—perfect for a relaxing getaway. It was also conveniently located close to the main road. We had everything we needed in this charming, well-equipped home. We’ll definitely be returning!

The sign about a gate and dead end as you turn on to Cross Mountain Road from Grace Church Lane through us off but we figured it out rather quickly. May be a rough entrance on a dark stormy night or during snow - watch the bridge and the stream below. Having said this, the stream was a huge plus. The gentle flowing water that comes down the mountains from Shenandoah National Park was beautiful and peaceful! There is an alternate route if the bridge is inaccessible. Reach out to Jerry. I recommend arriving before dark. Watch for deer and other wildlife on the local roads. I saw a huge wild turkey in the woods next to the house! The property is very private but not remote - just right for us. We loved the hot tub and fireplace. The Virginia Spiderwort blossoms each morning were delightful and fascinating. There is so much nature surrounding the property. The indoors are beautifully decorated and clean. Very modern but appropriate for the Shenandoah Valley. We’d definitely come again!!

A very nice place in a private setting. Had all the essentials. The pool and hot tub were especially nice. Loved the wine at the winery also🍷 Andrea was helpful and responsive with all questions. Highly recommend staying!

We had a wonderful stay at Majestic Meadows. Sandy & Chris were wonderful hosts and the property was a great home away from home, with a beautiful courtyard full of colorful birds, a private pool, and a ton of flowering plants. Close enough to town to not feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but far away enough to feel secluded. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a great stay here with our dog. The house was beautiful and very clean and our dog loved the fenced in yard. Dolly had so many recommendations for local restaurants, breweries/wineries, and things to do. You can definitely hear the train going by but it really didn’t bother us at all it’s not loud enough to distract from a conversation or wake you up. Overall we loved staying here and would gladly stay here again if back in the area!

We had an amazing stay! The views of the mountains were absolutely stunning. The space was clean, comfortable, and just as described. We really enjoyed the short hike down to the river, such a beautiful spot. There was a grill and campfire set up right by the water, which we didn’t use, but it was a nice touch. Scott was always available to answer any questions, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway close to nature.

This was our second stay at this location. The house is on a fairly busy street but tucked away perfectly once you arrive you’d never know it. Steps from the beach and easy to come and go many times a day not feeling tacked down to lug everything you need once. Safe for kids coming and going. Best times for us were sunrise and sunsets.. amazing. Finding crabs, building sand structures and building memories. The front porch is perfection and the whole family could hang out there all day. Beautiful yard I felt safe allowing the dogs to be free. The beach is not crowded. Not far from stores and places to get fresh seafood etc. we’d recommend this place to anyone.

This amazingly cozy farmhouse was just the vibe we were looking for. Beautiful outdoor seating (screened-in porch, deck overlooking the vineyards, and lounge chair by the pool) made it easy to breathe in the fresh air. Beds were comfortable and water pressure was great! The outside deck with Solostove was perfect for the chilly evenings. We enjoyed light snacks and wine at Muse Vineyards, which was lovely and got to meet Sally! We ventured into town for some local eats. Can’t say enough good things about Woodstock Cafe’s breakfast. We enjoyed a sweet treat at Sugar Creek and had a lovely walk down the street at Seven Bends. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, look no further!

We loved our stay at The Cottage! The home is rich with history, is so charming, inviting and so relaxing. The bikes and kayaks are a huge plus! Everything was great! We hope to return later in the year! Highly recommend!

My husband and I spent the weekend in Bassett to attend an event at Fairy Stone State Park. Tamara and Luis’s cottage was the perfect respite. The property is absolutely beautiful and all of the summer flowers were in bloom. Our beagle, Molly, loved meeting, Buddy, Tamara and Luis’s lab doodle. I highly recommend this location for anyone who wants a quiet, beautiful, soulful time away from the busyness of life.

We had a nice time, the place was cozy enough that even when we had bad weather we were happy to stay in and relax!

This is my second time at Jessica and David’s house- it is comfortable, cute, and relaxing! Perfect for my needs while in the area- being able to bring the dogs along is a huge plus!

wife and I needed to get away for a weekend and just hold up in a cottage. this surpassed those expectations. very romantic and cosy with all the amenities to stay and relax for a weekend and get away from DC hub bub.

quiet get away spot- very quiet. No direct access to sand/water; just a view - (we knew that going in)- you have to walk a little to get a small little public beach area...but thats not why we went. Just to get away for a weekend from city noise; the place was great. walked dog off leash.

Great spot. Brought a camp chair and binoculars and sat by the shoreline. Drove to the windmill point tiki bar on fleets island for a sunset walk. Enjoyed kilmarnock & white stone. Had a soft shell crab sandwich at Bay Bistro, oysters & crab dip at Tides Inn. Great thrift stores in kilmarnock. Nights were peaceful and starry with the sounds of frogs. Definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking to explore the northern neck.

Loved our stay on Kerr Lake! Cute house on a quiet road and quiet cove. We brought our own kayaks and it was easy to put them in from the shore and store them close to our dock. Enjoyed the basket of snacks, shower amenities, and the view from the deck and gazebo!

Great little beach cottage for couples and small families - clean, comfortable, and close to the beach and the amenities in Colonial Beach. The hosts were great with communication and the pictures and description were accurate. We'd definitely consider staying here again for our next CB getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at Lisa’s cottage! My family was visiting relatives close by and this was a convenient place for us to stay. It is located in a beautiful setting and is very peaceful yet close by the interstate for easy access. The cottage itself is even nicer than the photos! If you need a place for you and your family to rest, relax and enjoy the water. Look no further! The BEST little cottage on the bay! Its become a family tradition to travel there. We have had the best memories made we will cherish forever! Clean, comfortable with amazing reviews. Short drive to great restaurants and everything you may need. We will absolutely be back and hope to enjoy first flight for many years to come!

Brenda was such a helpful and generous hostess. The fact that she opens up her alpaca farm for not only you to stay but also for you to share the fun of hanging out with the alpacas, dogs, and kitties was just the best. The house was great, the location stunning, and it was a great proximity to WV and some of the very iconic hikes around the Roanoke area. We are really going to miss the place!

Comfy spot in a beautiful place. A great house for those looking to really get a weekend away. And still close to wineries, hikes, and other great experiences. Would highly recommend!
