Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Waikanae Beach

An absolutely lovely little getaway. The house is beautiful, warm, modern and cosy and has everything you need. The garden is private and lots of options for sitting outside and taking in the great view! We could hear tui and the beach from the garden. Great location, 3 min walk to the beautiful Otaihanga domain and river walk down to the estuary and beach or up to waikanae. Great for the dogs! Really handy to paraparumu, pubs, cafes, and shops. Lucy was a dream host - super helpful and kind. Thanks for having us, we will definitely be back!

A lovely town with a coastal and nature-filled vibe — very family-friendly. The host was wonderful and extremely helpful. The house is well-organized and comfortable for a family stay, including two bicycles available for guests to use. There are cute cafés around with a laid-back, holiday atmosphere.

We enjoyed our stay, surrounded by a beautiful garden and at walking distance from the beach, restaurants and bakery. Neighboring a reserve at the back was a bonus, so we had more space to play ball games. It was a great place to rest and relax, indoor or outdoor. Board games available to play when it rained. One thing to note is that the bedroom upstairs, although private, it doesn't have a door to block any noise from downstairs. It is a cute cottage with lots of space for everybody.

This house was excellent for our extended family gathering – the kids loved the table tennis room, the oldies loved the view, and we all loved the direct access to the beach. Thank you, Jill, – your communications were great, the house was spotless, the beds were super and the setting made this a gathering we will all remember, even though it was for Great Grandma’s funeral.

Kim’s place was perfect for our family! She was so helpful & accommodating for us. The place has a lovely energy and such a sweet location! Many thanks Kim, we’d love to come back one day :)

Hidden gem in a beautiful spot - our only regret was not staying longer! It's close to Porirua/Paraparaumu, but involves a slightly steep winding gravel drive so feels like a world away. The surrounding native bush is stunning, and we loved all the cosy little touches (blankets, pre-prepared fireplace, coffee and milk etc). Lots of outdoor space, would be amazing for a longer family getaway in nature. Really appreciated the proactive comms from James & Emma too.

Such a great place to stay, perfect for our group. Lots of space, both as a large group but also breakout areas. Outdoors is stunning, great to wander around in the sun and fresh air, very quiet and peaceful - our dogs love it!! Well equipped throughout, kitchen had all the staples and plenty of serving ware for group meals, bedrooms were all fabulously set out, plenty of extra bedding and towels if needed. Lots of games to have fun with, plus the pool and tennis court. We had a blast, thank you for having us!!

Thank you, what a lovely and special family home, it made for a magical and relaxing xmas break. Beautiful deco home with bohemian vibes. A spacious garden area to play led to an ethereal private pathway to the beach which was dotted with wild flowers. Original deco elements retained in the bathrooms. We had a wonderful stay at this charming converted barn! It’s cozy, beautifully designed, and full of character. The space was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. Loved the peaceful surroundings and thoughtful touches throughout. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique and serene place to stay!

Vicki has such an amazing place! Had no trouble at all finding it, easy check in and really friendly. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for some time away, would definitely stay here again.

David was very friendly and addressed all the things that I had asked about, his wife, Christine was also very helpful, especially with supply of fresh eggs and vegetables, and Molly the dog has to get a mention, she also was very friendly. I can't say too much about the location because I'm an xpat kiwi visiting friends and family, however if you like shops with lots of nik nakky things then Greytown is the ideal place to explore.

We loved the tranquility and peace, and it was a great location near the beach. It's well set up and we loved the secure fences for our two Jack Russells. All in all, a very good choice for a leisurely weekend away from Wellington. It ticked the boxes.

We had a very comfortable stay. House was warm and inviting. Breakfast provisions were amazing, from home made sour dough bread and pancakes, to cereals. The house is obviously a labour of love, with lots of interesting nick nacks. Thanks Becky

I proposed to my beautiful fiancé in the beautiful green house. We got to relax in the warm cozy tiny home and then woke up to 1 hungry alpaca and 1 moody one (they both were adorable) we will forever remember our stay. A lovely stay with Catherine in a very well set up cottage. The highlights must be mentioned individually, this is such a lovely property: sizeable and well fenced yard, gorgeous wee deck, super comfortable and warm bed, kitchen, dining, and living room areas all wonderful, and a spacious bathroom make this such an amazing place to stay, along with the rural property and the peace and quiet that goes with it. Such a good sleep in a very warm cottage. Will keep on my list for the next time I'm back in the area!
