1750's cottage with open fire and beams

Take it easy at this unique and cosy cottage with a real open fire and original beams. The cottage was constructed in approximately 1750 during the reign of George II. The cottage is constructed from wood and stone and there is not a straight wall, ceiling or door casing in the house! You learn very fast (after banging your head once or twice) to duck under the low door frames and beams. The cottage is small, quirky and very cosy but with a suprisingly large master bedroom and bathroom.

Our wonderfully unique tiny home ‘Little Oak’ situated within an acre of woodland and on the edge of the Heswall Dales nature reserve, it really is a special place and the perfect place to explore our beautiful area with incredible walks on our doorstep. This superb home looks out onto the village cricket green and from the rear, picturesque views of Brinscall Woods, Great Hill, Winter Hill, Rivington and the West Pennine Moors. You may walk, run or cycle from the front or the rear gate into miles of upland moorlands, tree lined valleys, rivers and reservoirs.
