Villa holiday rentals in Akureyri

A beautiful spot! The house is cozy and better than the photos. We had some issues with getting the hot tub to fill up and get hot. But other than that, the house was great and fully equipped! Please note- the tunnel is approx $21 each way so plan your trips to Akureryi and such accordingly! The only restaurant I think nearby is at the golf course. But the house is a great spot for dining in.

We stayed 3 nights and it was a very comfortable house (6 people). Spacious, clean with a beautiful view of the fjord. Quiet neighborhood with icelandic ponies, sheep and cows nearby. Downtown was close by so we could eat at some of the excellent restaurants in Akureyri. We used the house as a gateway to Myvatn lake area and Husavik. One of my favorite AirBNB stays ever.

The place was as described and it was a peaceful neighbourhood. The view from the living room was amazing! I would gladly recommend his place to others.

We stayed here one night, and it met our needs, arriving fairly late. Plenty of shared spaces for guests to use. Breakfast started at 8am (currently listing shows 7:30), but it was worth the wait for the delicious spread and interaction with other guests!

We really enjoyed our stay in Grenivík. The house is beautifully designed inside—every room felt thoughtfully put together and very comfortable. The views outside were just as impressive, making it a peaceful and scenic place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Gimbur Guesthouse, can’t recommend enough. There was plenty of space for a group of 10, perfect to have separate rooms and comfortable common spaces to hang out. The hot tub on the deck was a huge highlight for relaxing in the evenings. Jón and Sjöfn were very responsive and just next door - extremely kind hosts and made the stay more special. Lots of great hiking right out the door too, very private and isolated. Hope to come back in the future!

This is a must stay if you are a fan of geothermal baths. The “brown lagoon” he has is truly special and you will feel so connected to the earth.
