The apartment is spacious and comfortable with everythink you might need for your stay. The apartment is located on a farm 7 km from Borgarnes and 80 km from Reykjavik. The farm is 1 km from road nr 1. The view from the apartment and the surrounding area is very beutyfull. We have horses, chickens and dogs on the farm. The horses are very friendly and love attention. This is a very good spot to view the northern lights from late august-april if the sky is clear we can usually see them.

Approximately 50 kilometres outside of Reykjavik, more precisely, in Hvalfjordur is a little cottage located right by the ocean shore. We feel so fortunate to have spent 2 glorious nights at Halldor’s house with our 2 college-aged sons. The house design is exquisite: a perfect blend of simplicity, style, and sophistication but lacking in pretension. The house is designed with windows and glass doors looking out over the property. In every direction there are rolling fields and river views. We loved dunking in the river and racing up to the sauna. We also loved the outdoor shower. We lit a fire each night and cooked meals in the wonderful kitchen. The only downside to the house is that you never want to leave it! But we did enjoy going into town. The Settlement museum offered a very good intro to Iceland history. This was a perfect place for us to stay on our way to the West Fjords. I truly hope we come back and stay much longer next time. Thank you, Halldor, for creating such a beautiful home.

Vignir has a wonderful cozy cabin. It is spacious has a very well equipped kitchen, a nice living room and the bed were very good. The location is also very nice, just some 10-15 minutes outside Borgarnes where you can get groceries and it’s an ideal location to explore west Iceland. It’s exactly as you can see on the pictures and description. Vignir is an excellent host. Communication went very smooth and he gave very clear instructions how to get to the cabin. Inside he prepared a booklet with simple instructions how things work in the cabin and lots of tips what to do and what to see in west Iceland. I can highly recommend!

I cannot say enough about how incredible our stay was here, and how above and beyond the hosts went. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a beautiful, private getaway. Seeing how pretty the place looked in the pictures, I booked this spot to bring my fiancé to after proposing to her on the south coast. The hosts were kind enough to pick up decorations that I ordered from a nearby post office, and decorate the place beautifully well in time before I brought her there. They were extremely communicative in the weeks leading up to my stay, and put so much time, care, and attention to detail into the decorations while asking for nothing in return. In addition, the place was absolutely spotless and clean throughout. If you're looking for a serene stay with stunning views, cleaned to the highest standard, with extremely friendly and responsive hosts, this is your place.

Overall we had a wonderful stay here. The views are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to see northern lights! Only negative was trying to find the cabin was difficult BUT Borj was super responsive and friendly. We only stayed one night but would stay again.
