Train holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Mo-Pac caboose on your beautiful and peaceful ranch. It was such a unique experience—quiet, relaxing, and a great way to disconnect. We had a great time and would definitely recommend the stay for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a unique twist! Thank you for being a great host.

We spent a surprise birthday weekend in the Railcar for my husband. My husband is a a huge rail fan which made this gift a no brainer. We boated, swam, kayaked, fished, hung out by the firepit and made great memories. We even spotted a Bald Eagle soaring over the water.

Beautiful location, place as described. Jacuzzi was great. Lots of hot water. Good water pressure, good shower. Bed was comfortable. Donnie was helpful and responsive.

We stayed with our two dogs at Donnie's caboose over Thanksgiving while visiting family in the area. The location was great and super close to our family. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Clean! Smelled great too. Geat distance (within 10min) to hiking (Ash Cave) in one direction and then a pizzeria with all kinds of drinks and snacks in the other. On a fairly traveled road in front, but also a great small space to explore right behind and firepit. Well kept! It was great for our young family. Very fun.

The Apple Ridge caboose experience is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors, peace, and animal sightings! We saw deer, turkeys, 3 huge Pileated Woodpeckers, and other birds. Grounds are beautiful and the staff was friendly! We’ll be back yearly.

This was such a beautiful place to stay! 5 minutes from downtown and 5 minutes from the Veteran Park which my dog loved. My dog loved all the little trails through the fields behind the house and went for a swim in the pond! Views of the farm animals across the street from the deck. You can catch the sunset on the hill behind the house and sunrise from front porch. I really appreciate it that there was wSher/dryer because I was on a long road trip with my dog and desperately needed to do some laundry. There is even a clothesline outside that I used!

It was such a beautiful, peaceful and relaxing oasis that they've created! My family enjoyed every minute! We will be back, if we're in the area! They are so friendly and great to work with and very responsive! The homemade bread, fresh eggs, homemade peanut butter and jam were a nice surprise and so delicious! Y'all thought of all the little details!

Bryan’s cozy trains are the best find in southeastern Ohio. My father and I were doing a classic car tour throughout the region and found his AirBnb exceptional for our stay. It’s very clean and private accommodation. It pretty much has everything you’d need. The fire pit and deck are the best too, I myself enjoyed that greatly. Bryan himself is very friendly and proactive in making our stay as comfortable as possible. Check it out, it’s worth it

Exceeded expectations! Our family had a great time in May and will definitely go back for a fall trip too. All of the features and details inside the train were so neat. The den / kitchen area was more spacious than I expected. I was afraid it may feel a little claustrophobic but it didn't at all. The specific local recommendations provided were great. We have small children and weren't able to utilize the river much as there isn't flat / cleared ground beside it and the water was moving pretty rapidly during our stay, but we still had lots to do without the river. Definitely worth visiting!!

We stayed at the Caboose for our honeymoon and it was the perfect getaway! Pete was the perfect host and we would highly recommend the place to anyone looking for a getaway to Asheville.

The caboose is super cute and whimsical. It is a rustic “cabin” but had everything necessary. The couch is uncomfortable so don’t plan a long lazy vacation watching movies. But it is a great jumping off place for the activities in the area. The caboose cupola made for a perfect morning coffee spot and afternoon reading nook!

Awesome place to stay. It was unique and I enjoyed my visit. The place was super clean and had everything I needed. Very peaceful location and conveniently located to all the attractions around it.

Our stay was lovely! Daniel was friendly and accommodating.The caboose was a unique experience, and the location was private and beautiful! We enjoyed visiting the ducks and the goats , they were very personable! We would highly recommend this property!

Brenda's place was exactly as described. Check-in/ Check out was a breeze and all the relevant instructions were provided ahead of time. My time there was peaceful and relaxing, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

We were so impressed! Beautiful surroundings, such thoughtful design, decor, and amenities. I had imagined it would feel like camping to stay in a train caboose - but it really didn’t! The beds were comfortable and the shower was full sized with great water pressure. We sat outside and watched a lightening storm off in the distance in the evening, the temperature was perfect. It was really cool to get to share this experience with our kids, of course, they loved it too.

Beautiful surroundings, quiet except for the sounds of nature. Truly an epic destination. Would definitely return but with MORE friends! This trip was just the two of us.

We had a great stay here for our first time in Hocking Hills. The Caboose had everything modern that we needed while still enjoying the outdoors. My wife loved the flower garden and the feeling that you were in a treehouse from the deck/hot tub area. Courtney's place is extremely clean and close to trails, restaurants, etc. She answered any questions we had promptly. We had a great time and plan to visit again.

This is such a unique and charming place. We had everything we needed and more! The hiking trails were a happy bonus! We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!
