Cottage holiday rentals in Au Sable Township

I booked this beautiful home after my first reservation and host cancelled on me due to the storms. Well, I can say… we are so happy with our stay. It was exactly as described and even better than expected. April really is a one of a kind host, so good that I had to take notes for my own Air bnb adventure. She thought of everything! I’ve never had a better stocked kitchen. We always cook and make a big meal and we sure did not want for anything. We were even greeted with a local baked good and extra sheets and blankets for the dogs. These hosts were the best I’ve had in Michigan, if not the whole country. I’m thankful for people who truly consider someone’s stay and thinks of it all. Thank you again to the hosts. The Cabin was spotless and one of my favorite features was the deer lights.

Host Robert, was very responsive with any issues we had. We were in town for my sisters’ funeral, and it was extremely difficult for me. Unbeknownst to me my 3 brothers and nieces and nephews thought that they would bring food over to us because I was in a not in a good state of mind. They felt I needed people around me and needed to eat. The host Rob, was concerned with the amount of people that were there and clearly stated in the rules of limit of people and reached out to me and very kindly reminded us of the rules. I instructed my family to please go back to their Airbnb’s. I am very apolojetic for putting our host in that position. I would highly recommend this Airbnb. Very beautiful. Cute stone cottage, quiet neighborhood, beautiful setting and nicely decorated.

Cute little cottage on the river. Great location and close to Hubbard Lake. Amanda is a perfect host, great communication and very responsive.

Our family had the most wonderful time. This place exceeded expectations. As other reviewers have mentioned this place is very well stocked. We rode bikes to the ice cream shop, swam at the nearby beach (most days we had it to ourselves), grilled, had a campfire, enjoyed the lovely view from the porch and drove into town to go out to eat. The hosts were very welcoming and even provided a cute little frog table and chair for our little one. We would love to book again some time. Sadly, it does not come with the cute pictured pug. :)

We loved our stay at this cottage. Even though we had rainy weather were still able to enjoy our trip, we felt cozy and right at home. Host is very helpful and responsive.

We were looking for a peaceful retreat-like property and this filled the bill. Every morning we were greeted by colorful sunrises. Each evening we had a full view of the star-filled sky, anchored by a brilliant moon. The property is such that guests have a unobstructed full view of the lake through t the spacious glass door windows. We began our days sitting on the beach as the sun rose. Each evening we ended the day gathered around a fire which was fueled by a generous stockpile of wood provided by Mark and Company. The property has plenty of woods, enough for a mini-wilderness walk. Most everything is provided for every day needs. The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, silverware etc. Beds are super comfortable. We even surpised ourselves by collaborarting on assembling a jig-saw puzzle provided by the property. Thanks Mark. Great job.

This was a very peaceful place to stay on a beautiful lake. Be aware that there is no WiFi, or cable so be prepared to unplug!! Cell service is spotty also. We had a great time kayaking and fishing.

Had a great time with the kids at Edwards place. Definitely off the beaten path, 20 min drive to property driving on gravel and then dirt/sand after the gate, was a little tight between the vegetation on the path with my truck but no damage done(couple minor scratches). You'll get used to the solar power and learn to conserve, make sure to charge during the day. Amazingly beautiful property, crazy quite. We didn't see much wildlife during our stay, mostly a wide variety of birds. we rented the small boat and made it to the sandbar on Hubbard lake, if your not too familiar with boats I would rent a boat in the surrounding lakes before trying to make it by river to Hubbard lake. River is GREAT for kayak, canoe or paddle board plus you won't scare off the wildlife with the sound of the engine. Overall, we had a great time in this secluded setting and spending quality time with the kids without wifi/internet.

We had an amazing time at this home! It is very clean, well taken care of, and has all the amenities you need. The host was very communicative and helpful as well. Our favorite part of the house was the back yard; we enjoyed having a bonfire, playing lawn games, grilling, sitting in the Adirondack chairs, and catching bass from the dock and kayaks. The swimming area did have some weeds, but the beach itself was spotless and has great views. There is lots to do in Gaylord (and Northern Michigan in general), and this was an amazing home base for our group, especially for a bigger group since it has many beds, baths, and spaces to enjoy. I highly recommend this house!

We will definitely be looking to book Shawn’s place again! It was everything we needed for a nice weekend away in Tawas!

Michelle’s Haven was the ideal Port Austin getaway for my husband and me. Just steps from the beach and a quick walk into town, the location couldn’t be better. Our small dogs loved the private patio, and the quiet neighborhood made for a peaceful stay. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. Our host Shelby was responsive, kind, and helpful. A special bonus was listening to vinyl records while getting ready for our family event — such a charming touch!

Nice place , as advertised. clean , comfortable, and stocked with more than enough ! Great yard for my golden retreiver . Close to private and community beach . Walkable to everything. Porch for hanging out. Spacious kitchen and dining room for cooking and playing games. Bed was super comfy. Temperature in house was perfect. I'll tell my friends about this cozy place. We'll be back for sure! Thank you for opening your place to us.

OMG where do I start......Loved the new retro appliances, the mermaid decor, so close to downtown Tawas and much more!

As soon as you walked in the cottage gave a good impression. We arrived on a very hot day so we were grateful for the portable a/c unit and fans. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware to handle cooking dinners. The internet connection was strong! This was a working vacation so I had multiple hours of video conferencing, and the internet connection was flawless. There did not appear to be a beach to walk to, so the water access was off the little dock. Quiet neighborhood. Peaceful, up north cottage location.

I was in town for a Class Reunion. I wanted to be close to the venue and downtown. Crow's Nest was the perfect spot to be. Close to the Lake and the stores. I would stay there again. Very quiet area and the house was perfect.

Aloha Beach Club is right on Lake Huron. The beach is clean and a nice, sandy location. We stayed in cabin #3. The newly remodeled kitchen and bath were really nice. The sofa could be updated. Sofa had rips and tears. We covered with a blanket. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return! Thank you!

For what me and my two golf buddies needed for a place to stay, this rental was just perfect! The host communications were first rate. I asked and they answered in a timely manner. Craig 5/19/2025

Great house!!! The place is picturesque, with a beautiful backyard and barbecue area. If you want to stay in silence and listen to the birds singing, come here! I recommend it!

The house was a bit smaller than expected, but it still worked out great. The paddle boards, paddle boat and kayaks were so much fun! Virginia was very responsive to the minor glitch that we did have with the electricity. Very clean. The fire pit was awesome and wood was provided (Bonus!!).
