Cottage holiday rentals in Barlavento Algarvio

An exceptional secluded paradise. We stayed there for a week to visit the Algarve and were there as a couple and with our dogseta who was delighted. Silvia provided us with instructions to get to the house properly (not following the gps). The place is very quiet, secluded and is reached by a flattened dirt trail between vineyards. The house is wooden and very big and spacious. It has a large enclosed deck ideal for being read there or playing board games. The house is well finished and secluded and has screens on all windows. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the utensils and some basic ingredients. The garden is wide with a very clean pool, of which Silvia takes care of daily without disturbing. Silvia has made it easy for us any needs and we are very happy about it; we repeat the stay without a doubt.

Nice place with an insanely beautiful beach nearby. House is nice with lots of places around the house to always sit in the sun or shade. Also nice that the space around the house is shielded with vegetation and a fence ( due to small kids). House felt very clean and thoughtfully decorated. Nice arrival with lights on and a drink in the refrigerator, plenty of towels and nice smell and soap everywhere, etc. Wonderful stay in the hammock and porch porch. but the breathtaking beach so close to the house was really the best.

Claire’s home is cozy and comfortable, with everything you need to make you feel at home. The garden is absolutely amazing, a little corner of paradise. We also enjoyed the little bar and shop that is only 3 minutes walk from the house. The closest beach is only 8 minutes drive, Lagos 25 minuets, etc. We recommend parking the car down the street as it’s not so easy to drive in and out if you don’t have experience with driving on narrow streets that go up and down :p.

Casa May is an idyllic place . The house is set in a beautiful garden which merges into the surrounding bush. Set about a kilometre from the main road , it epitomises peace and quiet.

Beautiful house! Very clean and stylishly decorated! We had an great week and felt very comfortable. The house is located just outside Silves surrounded by nature. We will be happy to come back!

Delightful, quiet location, with fully furnished house. Outside, there is a wonderful swimming pool (approx. 8x4x1.5 meters) in a spacious garden with a beautiful view of the surroundings. As a cherry on top, there is also a super Jacuzzi with delicious relaxation beds.

Michaela’s property is truly outstanding we have never stayed anywhere so beautiful. Pool was heated to perfection(at an extra cost). The whole experience was great, we had an issue with the jacuzzi which we were paying extra for thus was dealt with as soon as we raised it and in a very professional way. Ana the hosts representative was a delightful lady and very responsive. We had simply the best family holiday in a beautiful villa, in a beautiful county. We are already planning our next stay in Michaela’s beautiful home.

Thank you for an incredible stay! We rented a car in Faro and could very easily get around to beaches, restaurants and attractions. We really appreciated staying in this little village without all the tourism. Incredibly nice house in an incredibly charming village with walking distance to local restaurants, small shop with necessities, etc. By car, the nearest large grocery store is about 5-7 minutes away, which was very convenient! The house has everything you could possibly need for a shorter or longer stay. If I come here again, I will 100% book the same accommodation.

What an absolute gem! 💎 we didn’t want to stay in a resort and this was perfect, off the beaten track set in the most peaceful and beautiful surroundings. The house itself was ideal for us and our 2 young children - there was a cot, highchair, and loads of playthings both indoor and out 🤩 As a base it was perfect to explore - we could reach everywhere we wanted within about 1.5hrs but most places were much closer (would highly recommend Silves!). Evi was wonderful - super responsive and have loads of recommendations 😄 We would highly recommend and definitely stay again! ✨

Judite's place was very charming and had an amazing view. It was very peaceful and had everthing you needed. We didnt rent a car but used Uber, taxis and the local bus to get to neighbouring towns and even a day trip to the little fishing town Alvor. Judite responded quickly to all our queries before and during our trip. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend Lavender cottage.

I had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful property! The space was peaceful, comfortable, and full of charm – the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged, and you can really feel the care that’s gone into creating such a welcoming environment. One of the unexpected highlights was getting to meet their three lovely dogs – Nuts, Thelma, and Louise. Each of them has such a sweet personality, and they added so much warmth and character to our stay. Thank you for the incredible hospitality – I hope to return again soon!

Very nice and clean apartment with two balconies. The pool is clean and spacious, the sunbeds and umbrellas invite you to relax and chill. There's even a toilet cottage. The apartment is just a second jump away, so you can always get drinks or tasting from the kitchen and fridge. The location is very quiet and the combination ideal for relaxing for families with and without children. By the pool and on the landlord's property it is nice and green and flowery. Benafim is located in the hinterland, but for vacationers with rental cars, the trips are a pleasant change from the various excursion destinations in the Algarve. For us who are also happy to explore in Tenerife by car, comparably well located. The hustle and bustle in Albufeira can be experienced in 30 minutes. All in all a nice place with good value for money. We are very satisfied and will be back.

As a family with a young baby this place felt so safe and comfortable. The outdoor spaces are incredible and gives a feeling like you are at a resort. The apartments are clean and comfortable.

In a few words: we can't wait to come back! The house is beautiful, clean, the garden is superb, on a human scale. It has everything the kids need. In short, very happy with our stay!

The vacation home is located in a quiet oasis in the middle of an almond forest (I hope I recognized it). The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. There are also things like coffee capsules, detergent, salt & oil so that you have everything you need for the first few days. Communication was smooth, friendly and fast. We felt very comfortable there and I would always like to come again.

This home is a beautiful farm house in the area - you feel right at home when you arrive and it makes you want to move in. The property is so peaceful, calming and great for kids and outdoor meals. The location is wonderful and right in the middle of all of the beaches in the area. The hosts are incredibly helpful and communicative (the best communication I've encountered with an airbnb) - always there to respond to you if you have questions and help with anything that comes up. The house is also incredibly well equipped for multiple guests and a longer stay - the photos don't reveal just how many dishes, pots and pans, and other supplies the home has. As well, the windows have screens which is a HUGE plus that many airbnbs in the area do not have. If you are there in cooler or wetter weather, the house does get a little bit damp if you are sensitive to that but that is pretty common for most places in the area and the hosts have put things in place to help with it.

Maria Helena's place looked as shown in the pictures. A special feature is a good-sized pool and many sun loungers around the pool to accommodate a larger group. We also liked the historic feel and look of the house, while all the modern amenities are there. A large terrace with a seating area and dining table provides a nice place to relax all day (incl. late evenings and early mornings with a sunrise). Great views from the terrace to the surrounding countryside - the house is private with a good distance from the other houses. You would need a car to get to the shops, etc., but it takes only 10-15 minutes to get to the shops in Lagos. Many local restaurants are even closer. Overall, it was a lovely holiday. Maria Helena is also an excellent host. She gives advice at the beginning and stays a few minutes away by phone if you have any questions or concerns. She also kindly let us stay longer on our check-out day as we had a late afternoon flight back home.

My family and I had a very nice week in Marta's house and we felt very comfortable there. The large living area is inviting for socializing and the piano was well used. Aljezur is a few minutes' drive away, as well as 3 great beaches. We highly recommend the place!
