Simply lovely South Downs Shepherd hut

JekabsRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
For people who like nature and hiking this is a jam! Easy to get there from London either going to Lewes (30 min walk) or Brighton (3-4h hike with great views). The sauna is the cherry on top after a long day out in the nature. Sian was very friendly and welcoming, and gave us plenty of suggestions. The hut is cozy with comfortable bed and good board game selection for late evenings. Local people are very friendly and it is lovely to walk to the nearby pubs along the hiking path. We highly recommend to visit The Abergaveny Arms, food is something else! Also Off the Wagon pop up pub is great. We will definitely come back.

The Hut in The Orchard

NikkiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Lovely stay for a few nights. The orchard is beautiful and completely enclosed even for our small dog (and child) so we could let him run around. Next to a quiet road, with occasional cars, the area is peaceful with the sounds of birds and occasionally the cows. We loved having the dining hut too so we could spread out a bit and toast marshmallows. Our five year old loved Dinosaur Island in the nearby country park and paddling in the lake there. We also had a wonderful day out on the Bluebell railway. Great short trip!

Snug and beautiful Shepherds hut

PeterRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Peter’s Shepherd’s Hut is located in a secluded spot on a paddock, the horses were very welcoming. I wasn’t cold without the need of using the fire. Perfectly positioned for a weekend with Hunter Gather Cook. Firle is beautiful and definitely a happy get away.

We loved the comfy and homely feel of your relaxing woodland retreat. Having met Misty, soon after arrival, we felt reassured that, if we had needed help/advice with anything, Misty would have responded straightaway.

Beautiful and stylish bedroom/bathroom annex

LaurenRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We visited for a birthday trip to the surrounding vineyards (Wiston & Kinsbrook) - Christopher was super responsive and friendly and even accommodated an early check in to support our lunch/tasting! The air bnb is as pictured in a nice, peaceful location surrounded by the countryside (our ideal). The host also provided a guest book with great recommendations for local breakfasts etc. As someone from Sussex, it's a great base to explore the local countryside, South Downs and numerous vineyards!

Rhubarb n Custard quirky unique narrowboat retreat

FrancoRating, 5 stars2 days ago
As a restaurateur with experience working in some of London’s top establishments—including the Four Seasons, Langan’s, and Michelin-starred venues—I’ve learned that what truly sets a place apart is its attention to detail. Every small element must align perfectly to create a seamless guest experience. Last night, I experienced just that. From start to finish, everything was absolutely spot on. The service was flawless, the organisation impeccable, and the welcome genuinely warm. Every aspect was clearly explained with care and professionalism—there wasn’t a single detail I could critique, not even constructively. It’s rare to encounter such consistency and excellence, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thank you for your kindness, and for going above and beyond to make me and my family feel so well looked after. A truly outstanding experience.

The Little House

NatalieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay at the Little House for our annual trip to Brighton. It's in easy walking distance to the town but feels secluded and peaceful. We had all the amenities we could need and were really comfortable during our stay. Hannah was a great host and very responsive when we had questions. Hoping we can return next year!

Woodlands Retreat -Seven Sisters Cliffs nearby

WendyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We returned for our second stay at The Cabin - it's the perfect place to explore the beautiful surroundings and The Cabin is very comfortable. Though small, it has everything you (and your dog!) would need for your holiday and the patio at the back is lovely. Sue is an excellent host and is very helpful. We definitely hope to go back for a third visit!

Peaklets Shepherds Hut in the South Downs

I had such a lovely peaceful time in the shepherds hut. It was beautifully kitted out and the surrounding countryside was amazing. Emily was extremely friendly and helpful and although we didn’t manage to meet, I knew that she was always available if I had any queries. I would highly recommend anyone staying there.

Explore Cliffs and Castles near a Shepherd's Hut Hideaway

MiriamRating, 5 starstoday
The hut was small but perfectly formed - beautiful, in gorgeous gardens. It worked perfectly for us as an overnight stay whilst walking some of the South Downs Way. Bridget was so hospitable, providing lots of lovely breakfast items and snacks, including gluten free options for my son with Coeliac Disease. She came to meet us with ingredients to make smoothies - a lovely way to refresh on a hot day. Highly recommended!

Pigeon Hole, Shepherds Hut, Vineyard, Sussex

NuriaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Pigeon hole hut is nested in a small pocket of birch woodland surrounded by green glades and views of the lake. The hut its self is cosy and beautifully crafted. Just the right balance of rustic charm with all your creature comforts. Everything has been thoughtfully considered. The setting is breathtaking. Fields of wild meadow flowers, orchards, vineyards and many enchanting gardens. All beautifully maintained and yet also loved. We felt so at home, relaxed and welcomed into these spaces by the family’s generosity to share so much of their estate with us. It’s an immersive and unforgettable experience. The indoor spaces are spectacular, the games room has everything you need for a rainy day and is located near the winery, which oozes with the families passion for all things Italian and wine making. The swimming pool is large and inviting with a pool swing no less and the facilities to match those of any spa. My daughter and I had the most magical and memorable stay. We will be back!
