Holiday rentals with lake access in California

The Bluebird Retreat was a really unique place to stay in Romona. It really felt like a getaway as it’s located in a really tucked away area so you don’t have to worry about neighbors or the sounds of traffic. It was truly just peace and quiet. Place was stocked up with everything we needed to bring some groceries and cook dinner. Everything was clean and spotless. The hose Lara was always responsive. Best part was waking up to all the sunshine and critters hanging around the place, squirrels and so many kinds of birds ( if you’re a birder you’ll really appreciate this place) plus the spectacular view of lake Sutherland 👌🏼 overall this place is one of a kind, if you ever find the need to be in Ramona, don’t hesitate to book ✅

I get my adult children together once a year. My daughter, her husband and toddler come from Washington. We really enjoyed our stay at the Lake Elsinore home. David, the host was very nice. The home has everything you need. The kitchen is very well equipped. They had enough beds, towels and everything you could think of was there. My grandson had a lot of fun in the back yard, they thought of everyone when they made this home an Airbnb. I was very pleased. Although the pool wasn’t heated as expected, David did everything in his power to make it happen. I absolutely appreciated all he did and we all enjoyed our stay. My daughter asked if we could do it at the Elsinore house next year again. Thanks again David!!!

This place is on another level of beauty and privacy. Showed up. Gate was open. The ac was already on. Place was spotless. Ice maker full with ice (huge win!!) Sit on the deck and just take in the best view around. I gotta to hang for a few min at club red. The kayak around the lake was amazing. This is a top notch compound. Incredible the paradise they have built in the middle of nowhere!! Only negative was I had to leave. Thanks Joyce and tony for your hospitality. I will be back!!!

We had a lovely stay at the lakehouse. A few small issues cropped up during the stay and Amber responded quickly. The handyman who comes to maintain and fix things is also a friendly guy. The view of the lake is beautiful and I enjoyed waking up to catch the sunrises. We were on a family vacation with a few kids and they had a blast at the house with all the fun games they could play, like ping pong and cornhole.

Very peaceful, grounds were full of birds, flowers and variety of plants. Huge lot with trails to walk around and explore. Georgeous views from the back deck and comfortable seating. Kitchen was really nice as well. I could spend hours in the yard just watching the birds. Definately follow host's instructions and keep your dog on leash as there was a family of deer on the property through our entire stay and they are easily spooked. So not a property to let your dog run free, which was fine as host was very clear in her post about that. But the huge porch has a doggie door so our dog enjoyed sitting on the back porch with us. Beds were nice and comfortable. I will definately consider staying there again.

Fabulous trip! We were greeted warmly by Jana and settled easily into the spaces of this large character home on a quiet cul de sac. It worked perfectly for our group of four. We loved the peaceful feeling of being on the water and the nearby pathways along the bay; it's lovely to sit outside to read and sip something. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it is very well-equipped. We got in some great hikes and meals at Mt. Tam, San Rafael, San Anselmo, Fairfax and Pt. Reyes as well as a SFMOMA day in the city. A wonderful location! Don't hesitate.

We had an amazing stay. Elizabeth’s accommodations and attention to every detail made it feel like we were at home! I’ve stayed in many airbnbs and this stay was by far the best! We will definitely be back! The dock is well kept and sturdy, plenty of water toys, the house was clean and accommodating. Everything was pristine. We had an amazing stay! The property was exactly what we were hoping for—peaceful, clean, and very comfortable. It was incredibly dog-friendly, which made the trip even better since our pup was able to enjoy the vacation with us. We especially loved relaxing in the hot tub under the stars—it was the perfect way to unwind. Stargazing at night was breathtaking, and having access to the private beach was such a special treat. The host was responsive and welcoming, and everything was thoughtfully prepared. We’d absolutely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, pet-friendly getaway!

As a first time booker, Uwe and Frauke were very helpful with recommendations on things to do and places to see! They were very welcoming and Vargus is a private, well kept place to stay :) Had a lot of fun exploring Bombay and learning about its history

We love the small town vibe. People are friendly. Dog-friendly. Anna’s house is cozy, felt like home. The kitchen is well stocked.

The location of this place is fantastic. You can see Mission Bay from the front door, and then the bay and the beach are just a hundred yards away across a grassy park. Having a dedicated parking spot right by the front door was super convenient, and necessary in that area. The apartment itself is well equipped. It had everything I needed for my week-long stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Toni and Philip were so kind and helpful. The apartment was perfect for my spouse, myself, and 17 month old. There are great restaurants within walking distances and perfect access to different sites around SF. We stay at a lot of AirBnb’s and this was a great experience. We hope to return. Marci’s place was so nice! I feel like the photos and description doesn’t even do it justice. It’s such a cute little cabin and we loved staying there. There were lots of cute, rustic details that made you feel right at home. The bed was pretty comfortable. The patio area was nice and quiet, the hot tub felt great after a long day of hiking and lake activities, and the privacy in the yard made us feel comfortable and secluded despite the homes around us. There’s a quick walk to a launch spot to get out on the water which made it easy to kayak and paddleboard. So happy we stayed here!

We had such a great time!! The amenities were so amazing! Paddle boats, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, fishing poles were so amazing! We did not leave except to go to the bait and tackle store! It was amazing! They were so kind and attentive! we had a wonderful time

Lovely cottage in Kings Beach! Close to everything and an easy walk to the beach. Appreciated the host recommendation for a tiny walk-up Mexican taco place. Extremely good! I left my heart in Kings Beach!

Our stay was wonderful. The AC worked, the bed was comfortable, the hot tub and views of the lake were relaxing, and the place was clean and cozy. The hosts were also great. We would stay here again and recommend this place for anyone looking to unplug and experience nature.

We loved our stay here! The cabin is beautiful, super well stocked, and the hosts were very helpful and flexible. The kitchen was great—such a nice space to cook and hang out in. I’d definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a relaxing nature getaway with friends or family. We’re looking forward to coming back in the future!

Great location with a 5 min walk to Kings Beach, and house was exactly as described. Super responsive hosts and good communication to get in and out.

We found just what we were looking for; a peaceful and private cabin near the Russian River and with a lot of style and soul to boot. The house was very clean, comfortable and provided some sweet outdoor spaces for dining and lounging. With the heavy vegetation growing below, we didn't have a view of the river, but it was just a quick stroll away. The only downside I can think of is traffic noise along a semi-busy road that's nearby. But it wasn't a buzzkill and we enjoyed the experience thoroughly. We hope to return soon.

We had a great stay! The house was clean and in a nice quiet neighborhood. We also appreciated how many clean towels were available. The hosts were super friendly easy to get ahold of and Matt even shipped us some clothing items we forgot!
