Avila is a beautiful place to stay with a stunning beach. John went above and beyond for us to help us set up with a cot for our little one, and despite my bad communications on checking in time. John gave useful trip information prior to arrival to help us with our holiday planning, and helped explain local places to visit and eat at when we got there.

We’ve stayed in multiple cabins & Alison’s Lassen Cabin exceeded our expectations. Clean, spacious, bug-free & very welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. Great location for getting to Lassen Volcanic National Park. You’ll melt into the bed after a long day on the trails. The cabin is stocked with the essentials you need to make yourself for feel right at home. The indoor wood burning fire stove was the cherry on top! All around, a perfect place for some rest & relaxation. Would highly recommend :)

This cottage is the perfect private getaway in the woods! A beautiful meadow surrounded by forest, pleasant and comfortable cabin amenities, and a magical (private) outdoor shower filled with ferns made this a wonderful place to stay! Built by the owners, close to the forest and the beach, so amazing.

One of our favorite Airbnb stays so far. The surroundings were beyond compare. So peaceful, beautiful and comfortable. My daughter and I loved our time at the cabin, and will have to come up with a reason to come back! Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your little piece of heaven in the redwoods!

We absolutely loved our stay at the fish house! It is adorable and the calm atmosphere makes for a perfect vacation. The wood cabin features are great and access to canoes and kayaking was super fun. We grilled and used the fire pit both nights. Stars ⭐️ are stunning at night. Thank for a wonderful stay!

Staying here was a unique and memorable experience! The place was exactly as described—peaceful, cozy, and surrounded by nature. You really feel completely secluded, which adds to the charm but can also feel a little spooky at times. But I’ll admit I’m a bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to the dark, so that probably didn’t help! 😄 The howling of coyotes at night was mentioned in the description and that it just sounds close but is in fact probably miles away, but as Europeans we definitely underestimated how intense that can feel in person. Considering the relatively high cleaning fee, we found it a bit surprising that guests are still expected to take out the trash, do the dishes and put them away before checking out. All in all, we truly enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a special, off-the-grid experience.

Wish we could give even more than five stars - every aspect of the home was thoughtful and welcoming. It felt like staying in a spa amidst the most picturesque mountains. The space is even more spacious and more beautiful than the photos. Plus hiking literally right next to your door - wow! All the little details made it feel so special and the hosts were so kind and responsive. If you are looking for a place to rest and retreat, this is the place for you.

Amazing location and beautiful, cozy spot. Great nearby attractions, and close to Santa Cruz. Tera and Casey were gracious enough to lend us their state parking pass and were overall great hosts, responsive, and polite. Some things to expect: the loft and shower are smaller than expected and the outdoor seating is a bit stained. Nothing too surprising considering the nature setting and the coziness of the cabin but something to keep in mind.

A beautiful stay. The cabin was beyond what we expected. A well equipped kitchen and comfortable huge bed. I recommend star gazing. We saw countless satellites and numerous shooting stars and hardly any planes. With no/low light pollution, stsr gazing is a must. We recommend using the AllTrails app to discover nearby hikes, many of which are only 5 mins away by car.

A very special cabin with lots of charm and personal touches. Feels like a mountain cabin, far from the hwy, make sure to arrive during daylight. If you are looking for a solitude, surrounded by nature and fine host, look no more!

Better than anticipated. The description mentions a stream, but doesn't do justice to just how beautiful and idyllic it is. We spent hours lounging in the deck chairs at the edge of the stream in perfect privacy, enjoying the trees and butterflies and the sound of water. The hot tub is relatively small but great for two. The kitchen is tiny -- you won't be cooking a big meal -- but perfectly adequate. Looking forward to staying here again.

This is a must stay for LOTR fans! We were in awe of the thoughtfulness & care put into the space. “Second breakfast” was absolutely delicious and my dietary restrictions were accommodated, which is never expected but always very, very appreciated! We highly recommend staying and seeing the place for yourself.

Karen's place was amazing! It looks beautiful in the photos and even better in real life. It's so peaceful—we saw deer and foxes from the balcony. The wonderful view from the hot tub is also so nice. It's one of the best Airbnbs we've stayed in. Location, privacy, size, etc, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!

Adam and Kerstin were extremely wonderful hosts. The space was beyond what they described in the best way. Many airbnbs lack the attention to detail but this one went above and beyond and was truly luxurious. It was perfectly placed to have peace and quiet but also close enough to town to grab dinner and coffee in the morning. Adam and Kerstin were extremely responsive and helpful but were respectful of our space. We can’t recommend the meal option enough. Nothing was as good as getting to the unit and having a fully prepared and delicious meal ready for us to enjoy as the sun was setting over the mountains. This weekend was so special to us in numerous ways and Adam and Kerstin’s hospitality was certainly one of them and something we’ll remember. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful space with us!

The Cozy Cabin is exactly what you’re looking for if a peaceful, nature-centric relaxing getaway is on your mind. Where nature meets creature comforts. Can’t catch a fish in the creek? No stress, there’s restaurants within a 10min drive. Can’t build a fire? No worries, there’s a propane grill. Love being surrounded by nature BUT still enjoy a comfy bed and a hot shower? The cozy cabin has you covered. :) It is cozy—Some corners you might have to squeeze by (near the fridge) or duck your head (left side of bed). Quite dream-like the bed is on the soft side and raised at about 3ft from the floor (for anyone who might need this info for accessibility) but it didn’t take away from our experience. Generous and friendly owners/hosts, well-equipped and a connection to nature that you feel the moment you arrive (thanks to the cute greeting from the goats! Miss them already!!!) An hour drive from Roseville makes this spot one we’re soon to return too. Thank you Steve, Elizabeth, Angela!

The house was just like the pictures. Absolutely stunning. A nice little getaway from life to relax.

The accommodation where I could stay while being around alpacas was such a happy and joyful place for me. The room was small, but it was perfectly fine for two people. Adjusting the hot water in the shower was a bit tricky. This place is located on a surprisingly beautiful hill, which made the experience even more special. As someone who loves animals, I had such a wonderful time, and I would love to come back again for another healing stay. I hope the alpacas, horses, camels, and llamas are all doing well. Thank you so much!

David was a fantastic host. His communication was great from the start; being proactive, responsive, and clear. The cottage was exactly as described, and the pictures were accurate. The surroundings are beautiful, quiet, and has an outdoor shower and bath which we used in the mornings. We would love to come back again soon, and would recommend it to anyone looking to book and be only a few minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, whilst being hidden away from the city.

I loved staying at Jane's Barn. Jane was very welcoming and was an awesome host. The barn was just what I was looking for in a stay. It was very comfortable and relaxing. I enjoyed seeing the wild turkeys and deer during a wonderful walk around the property and from the various windows in the Barn. You can also watch the sky changing colors from the upstairs sitting area or bed as the sun sets. It was very windy the night I stayed, but there is plenty of outdoor seating if you want to enjoy the sunset outside. It was nice to unplug and read. She had a wide selection of books there. I had brought a book with me , but chose to read from the books she had available. I loved the decor! The bed was very comfortable and warm. Jane responded quickly to all questions and she gave great local recommendations of places to explore. I would definitely say Jane is a Super Host! I highly recommend staying here!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Marc is a 5 star host. He has adjusted my expectations for all my future Airbnb stays - this is a TRUE Bed & Breakfast in the most romantic and nostalgic sense. My mum and I already miss Marc's delicious fresh breakfasts, his conversation, his 10/10 restaurant and activity recommendations, and the stunning property -- I'll add here, that the bed is very comfortable. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to mattresses so this is the part of reviews I always look for! The view is divine. The property is well maintained. There are deer. You will see them. There are so many places on the property to sit and read and bird watch. All of the most gorgeous sight seeing in the area is 25 mins to an hours drive away, and even the drive is scenic! Marc seems to delight in being of service and providing a seamless and genuinely comfortable experience for his guests. He loves his property and by the time you leave, you will genuinely love it too!!
