Anne's home is very clean,well equipped and comfortable. It's in a very quiet neighbourhood. It's ideal for visiting local attractions around Durham. Anne is very friendly and helpful.

Michelle’s cottage was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Convenient parking right by the house was a big plus. We enjoyed our stay!

Was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the area was and only 5 minutes walk to a little shop. Matthew was a great host and very helpful. The house was roomy and everything you could need was provided, lovely white fluffy towels were an unexpected bonus and appreciated. The hosts have really thought about their guests and have done their best for a very reasonable cost to make a pleasant stay.

The perfect place to stay for the night, very spacious rooms and clean throughout. Communication from the hosts was excellent and it was easy to get into the property.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay while we visited family in the area. All facilities that you could need. Peaceful location. Lovely garden and outdoor seating area. Great for my mother who can be challenging with mobility. Stairs have bannisters and helpful sensor lights if you need to be up in be night. Couldn’t fault it

Fantastic stay, perfect location and the property is in a great location with a good local pub within 2 minutes (the woodman) and then Durham centre only a 10 minute walk away with everything you need around you. Steve’s place was quaint yet modern. The furnishings and lights were beautiful. The bed and pillows were nice and comfortable. The water pressure was amazing and it was close to the restaurants we went to eat at. Would def stay again were we to be in that area.

We had a fantastic stay here - really impressed with how well-equipped the kitchen was, how comfy the bedrooms were, and how nice the shower was (the rain shower head was very relaxing!). Janet was a fantastic host, really friendly and proactive. We felt well and truly pampered by the gift basket, tea and coffee selection, welcome card, and starter pint of milk. In case this is helpful for anyone thinking of bringing a small child: everything went well with our 2.5 year old, he found the stairs easy to climb, there was plenty of space for his travel cot and high chair, and we were able to set the cot up in the study so that the adults could spread out between the double bedrooms :D We were able to easily work around the absence of a bath by bringing a little portable toddler one that fits inside a shower. It was also easy to keep him out of trouble, with few breakable/dangerous things in his reach (plus the door handles were out of his reach too). Amazing stay - thanks so much!

It had been a terrific stay. It was way too short and unfortunately only a backup. I would have loved to find it earlier. We will definitely come back. Our dog Barney was the happiest dog on the planet. He found lovely companions in the two Collies and had all the space to run freely in a fenced spacious area. The Apartment was very gorgeous and furnished with cute little details. Heavenly and very comfortable bed. The hosts Pauline annd Bill also were the cutest you could imagine and very welcoming. They accommodated us on short notice. Thank you so much again!

Kind, accommodating, generous host and an incredibly comfortable Airbnb. Super easy to get to Beamish on the bus from the location. Little touches from Bev like snacks or a cold Pepsi Max and water on arrival make the stay even better. Great water pressure and temperature, wonderful bed, fantastic oscillating fan, and the mini fridge was perfect. When we were struggling night 2 to get good wifi, Bev popped over with a Deco mesh extender which solved the issue.

My friends and I stayed here for a wedding nearby. It was a great location which was easy to order taxis to and from. There is a big Sainsburys right next door for anything you might need. Beds were VERY comfortable and it was great to have a shower in each room. It was clean and tidy. Geoff and Julie were very friendly and welcoming and we’re really grateful for a lovely stay ☺️

We stayed at Fiona’s place for a wedding at Middleton Lodge and will definitely be back again! The flat was the perfect size for the two of us and was extremely well presented, clean and tidy. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful; the perfect escape! Fiona was super helpful and very responsive to messages. Check in and check out was super easy using the lock box. We’d love to return in the autumn or winter to get the fire burning for a relaxing, cosy break. Thank you for having us!

Second time staying at this unique place. Very comfortable and homely flat with everything that you need. There are some good cafes nearby and a good bar in the Teesdale Hotel. The locals in Middleton in Teesdale are very friendly and welcoming. Lots of good walks from the doorstep and Low/High Force a short drive away. Highly recommend.

This is a quiet apartment on a small estate close to the railway station. It is great if you are working away from home, or visiting for a few days. Instructions were clear and Mike was responsive. It looked like the description and it was great to have 2 bedrooms.

Anne and Norman’s place was wonderful! Quiet, clean, easy to get around by bus, train or Uber/Taxi. I had a terrific time and was able to get to every place I wanted to visit via public transit. Shops for grocery was a short walk away. Norman and Anne were the most friendly and lovely people you would ever meet. Thank you so much! 😊

We enjoyed staying in Fiona & Gary's beautifully decorated well eqipped flat, and Gary helped us on arrival.The flat is just a few minutes walk to the historic centre of Bishop Auckland.

A perfect basement apartment to go and enjoy Durham from. Was exactly as described, with a comfy bed and a useful little kitchen. Durham had uncharacteristically hot weather during our stay, but the apartment stayed lovely and cool!

I returned "home" to Durham as part of my sabbatical from my work in Australia. I was looking for a place close to the city, but also quiet and peaceful too. Chris' place was exactly what I was looking for. If you are lucky enough to experience the beautiful spring weather, as I did, you can enjoy sitting on the terrace watching, the ducks, rowing boats and life in general sail by. It is simply picture perfect! The apartment is beautifully furnished and has everything you could ever want! The beds are clean and comfortable and I slept better than I have in any other space that is not home! I would highly recommend and hope to back soon. If you are considering Chris' place - look no further. Just do it. You will not regret it!

Nigel's apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival and it was really nice to be greeted in person by the host - even though we kept him waiting - sorry Nigel. Excellent location with easy access to local bus services. That was great for us having travelled to the area by train, but we were still able to visit all the places we wanted to go by using the X20 only yards away from the accomodation and the 21 or X21 bus stop only 5 mins walk away. We couldn't have asked for better accommodation or host. All in all a memorable experience which we would recommend to everyone. Thank you we had a lovely week.

Great location, good base for exploring area, trains, buses etc. Flat had all I needed, wanted for nothing, comfortable, warm. Overall peaceful but near lots of pubs, bar, market etc

It's a lovely well-appointed ground floor apartment just across the river from the cathedral. Apart from the calming chimes of nearby St Oswald's Church, it's a lovely quiet space with a large comfy bed and excellent overhead shower.
