Am Fuaran Isle of Iona Am Fuaran is situated in Iona Village, beside the Argyll Hotel. Long ago Islanders had Summer houses where people stayed during the holiday season to allow guests to stay in their main residence. Am Fuaran was such a building which has had various tenants over the last few decades. It makes an ideal Summer Bothy. It is a tin building with a concrete floor and although not luxurious it is cosy. It is the perfect private space for a single person or couple.

Secluded shoreline artist's bothy

Situated on a Woodland Croft on the shores of a sea loch, this beautiful timber bothy was conceived as a getaway for artists and creatives looking for peace in an inspiring landscape. It's also ideal for kayakers or walkers. The bothy is next to the host's artist’s studio which it is possible to see by arrangement. With rocky coast and woodland behind, and the sea almost lapping at the front door, this simple but stylish bothy has everything you could need for the most restful of breaks.

Gometra Teacher's Bothy

VERY BASIC REMOTE BEAUTIFUL BUT NOT LUXURIOUS bothy in an idyllic situation 5 mins walk from sea. Bring own bedding and cooking stove. Basic pots crockery cutlery etc provided. Indoor toilet, indoor bath heated by solid fuel stove. Wood can be bought for £13 a bucket and will be left for you to use if you want. Suits kayakers, experienced hillwalkers and island baggers. Please see reviews for more feedback. No Ulva ferry on Saturday, and on Sunday only in June, July & August.

Bearnus Bothy on Isle of Ulva

Bearnus Bothy has been lovingly renovated using our principle of ecological design to repair, repurpose and use what has been washed-up by the sea. It is one of the last old residences outside of the main dwellings around the Main House on Ulva. As such there are no neighbours until you reach the tiny community on Gometra - where we live - another three miles down the track.

Four Winds is a stunning architect-designed house overlooking Loch Bhassapol. It is newly constructed within original stone walls and finished to the very highest standard. Cala Fearnadh is a new, unique, off-grid cottage in a quiet village, with stunning sea views of Staffa and the Treshnish Isles, and beyond. There is nothing quite like it anywhere on the island! Electric power is 12 volt, generated by a combination of solar and wind energy. Water comes from the tranquil Loch Assapol, which supplies much of the area.
