Guesthouse holiday rentals in Dunedin

My stay in Blueskin Bay was approaching the two year anniversary of my daughter’s death. I was seeking to have solitude to reflect and honour her memory. Helen and Sam’s Airbnb was perfect in this respect - in spite of the fact that my visit coincided with very cold snap. The space was able to be kept warm and cosy with electric blanket, electric oil freestanding heater and dehumidifier. I appreciated the kind touches designed to make feel welcome. I found Helen and Sam to be kind welcoming hosts. Their accommodation became for me an ideal ‘hermitage’ in my journey of grief and loss. Its proximity to the Church where my daughter’s ashes are was ideal. I enjoyed walking around the Orokonui Lagoon when the weather permitted and enjoyed a couple of ales at the nearby ARC brewery at Warrington. Waitati is well served with two cafes and a boutique grocery store. Thanks Helen and Sam

Lovely clean place to stay and relax. Leanne was super helpful and a lovely host. Had a really nice stay.

Thank you for a relaxing stay and for our delicious evening meal. We stayed in the Merino Room which was comfortable and quiet.

All what we expected and more, amongst bush, bird song and eucalyptus trees with lots of walks nearby and close to Botanical Gardens and Dunedin Centre. Suited our needs. Will be back again.

Awesome spot close to town and lots of activities

It was a great little place to stay - with a very comfortable bed! Beautiful surroundings. Chris answered messages quickly and was very helpful. Highly recommend and I will be booking in again when next in Dunedin.

Great place, very clean and comfortable. You can see a few Tuis in the morning very close, and enjoy their singing, we loved that.

Thank you for letting us stay in your Karitane accommodation, it was spacious, clean and comfortable (husband was a fan of the easy chairs!). The view was what we wanted from staying here and we were very happy for our 3 night stay.

We had a fantastic stay. The house was super tidy and clean, and it truly felt like staying in our own home. The host provided everything we needed, including milk, tea, and all the essential accessories. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is fully stocked with quality cookware. The decoration is cozy and artistic, and all the bedding and sleepwear were of high standard and very comfortable. The house is located on a farm, but the environment is very clean and peaceful. Every morning, I could smell the fresh scent of wood while standing in the garden. It was quiet and relaxing, far enough from the road to feel completely at ease. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and refreshing getaway. Thank you Frances. You are such a gracious host, always responsive and incredibly polite. You made our stay so much easier by providing thoughtful support and many conveniences.

Great stay at this lovely wee self contained unit in Dunedin. Stunning views, comfortable, spotless and all the amenities we needed within a short drive of Dunedin city.

This was a last minute stay after our accommodation let us down at the last minute. The hosts could not have been more helpful or responded more quickly. The space is smallish but well thought out and the bathroom is large. Great shower though takes a while to heat up. Great views and privacy yet an easy hop to town. No cooker or hob but there is a microwave - meant we had to rethink our meal plan haha! Loved all the scenery and activities on the peninsula. This is a fab place to stay for a few days.

Outstanding place to stay. Lack of a sink or stove was not a problem for our short stay as we used the microwave for our breakfast and Jean did our dishes. Jean and Bernie were excellent hosts and we can thoroughly recommend it. Our nephew stayed here a couple of months ago and was similarly impressed.

Carlee's place is a must try! We were greeted by the animals and then a mini personalized welcome msg as we enter the cottage. The cottage is very clean and super comfortable. Heaters in the toilet and living room were very on point. Kept us warm and cozy! The bread, honey, fruit and breakfast options were a lovely bonus. You could see the sunrise from the rooms, and starry skies at night. Carlee was also incredibly responsive and helpful and so was her daughter who brought us around the farm to feed the animals. The animals were so adorable! We had a blast! We really could not recommend this spot more!

Very grateful that I found this cottage in a peaceful, very private location. I felt safe staying there as I know that the family are not far away from me. Very peaceful and warm and no need to turn on the heater. Close to where I need to go and very handy location too. I will book again if I need to go back to Dunedin in the near future.

Great location for events at the Forsyth Barr Stadium, Walking distance.

very lovely home

I had a lovely couple of night’s at Olivia’s place while in Dunedin for work. It was an easy drive to the city - probably walkable in nice weather! Supermarket and cafes/restaurants are close. The studio is super clean and tidy and the bed very, very comfy!
