Chalet holiday rentals in Essex County

Great place to stay all in all. Christopher could work on a few things to make the stay easier for guests but this is a great spot and we loved the quiet and the privacy.

This home gave us (6 adults) a magical week. Got some good work outs on the hills as part of the charm. Attractions and restaurants were easy to get to. Every direction was a nice walk past interesting houses. Our week had every type of winter and the house was a perfect rest area. Host John made it easy and simple to check in and out!

A hiker’s dream. The perfect reprieve nestled in the heart of Saranac lake. Joanne’s cabin was the perfect location to tackle the Saranac 6 Ultra hiking challenge. With 6 mountains across 5 different locations in saranac lake, we were able to stop at the cabin 2 times to change clothes, eat & restock supplies. The blackout curtains in the bedrooms were also greatly appreciated as we were able to go to bed very early the day before for a 1:30 am wake up. The house was very clean and cute. The laundry room was convenient to wash dirty clothes. The showers were glorious after 17 hours of hiking. Joanne was a kind & responsive host. I would stay here again with my family or friends.

Joe’s Cabin was a perfect space for our family! Long driveway was perfect for sledding with our 3 year old, we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere yet so close to the main street in lake placid. Skiing was great and not a far drive from whiteface either. Amazing views out of the living room windows of the mountains in the distance. Snowed every day we were there and there was a snowplow that always made his way down the road and driveway. Joe was a great host and very accommodating. Loved being able to bring our dog with us as well!

Very cute and charming house! Everything was clean and as described. The area is very convenient and it’s easy to get to many different hikes.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great location allowing us to be within walking distance of town, but far enough away for privacy and quiet. The house itself is perfect for entertaining and socializing, but also allows for people to spread out and have their own space. Having access to the garage is a huge perk for keeping ski/outdoor gear out of the way.

As last time, we enjoyed our stay there :)

This chalet is beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and clean! My family and I had a great time here. There was a lot to do and it was close enough to Lake Placid. Dana was quick to respond to any questions I had and very helpful. Would stay here again.

Marry is a saint she was extremely helpful with an issue I had booking. The place is absolutely brilliant, coming from a carpenter by trade. Definitely will not be the last time I stay at her beautiful home.

We loved this property! It was wonderful to fit so many friends and family in one beautiful place! We found it very accommodating, clean, spacious and everything you need for a long or short stay in a beautiful area. The hosts were super helpful and communicated easily! We loved our stay and made wonderful memories there! ❤️

Beautiful and peaceful place. Lots of room to hang out, inside and outside. It was nice that the kitchen was stocked with plenty of glasses, mugs, dishes, utensils, and things for cooking, as well as some other basics like spices and coffee filters. Tina and Greg were very responsive. Everyone loved it!

Awesome place to stay. Homeowners were very accommodating! For sure going back in the future with family and friends.

Brian’s home was even better than the photos. A big and lovely screened-in porch; a well-appointed kitchen; a luxuriously large living room and dining area. Brian is a responsive host- he answers questions very quickly. A perfect spot for a family gathering.

the house is a beautiful space with lots of room! all of the amenities the house offers makes it a great a comfortable place to come home to after skiing/snowboarding at the local mountains that Jay and Wilmington have to offer. the house is advertised as "minutes away" from these mountains which is a little stretch. from the house it is about a 30 min drive to either Jay peak or Whiteface. overall we loved our stay and enjoyed a great trip and made a lot of great memories.

I cannot express how perfect this weekend was. Linda’s home is absolutely exceptional, the location is a dream, and her house is gorgeous. It’s perfect for a group of guests we loved having our own bathrooms, playing some pool down stairs, relaxing by the fire and in the hot tub, and seeing the beautiful landscape and wild life. It was the perfect cozy weekend, while also filled with activities like shopping, boating, and hiking. My girlfriends and I just couldn’t believe how incredible it all was. Thank you Linda to you and your family for offering such a wonderful place for us to stay!

The house was perfect for our larger group for our annual weekend get away. There was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen is well stocked for your cooking and hosting needs. Location was a quick drive in to Lake Placid for a day trips in to town. Would stay here again if I found myself coming back to the area.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful lake house, although we didn’t experience much of the lake because we were there for a ski trip to Gore and we got over a foot of snow. We did spend a lot of time in the house. It’s really great — comfortable, clean, modern, well-decorated and -designed, just a terrific vacation home. Location wise, it’s an easy 20-minute ride down a main highway to get to Gore, so no problem there. It’s two minutes to get to a Stewart’s and a couple of restaurants, delis, pubs, pizza. Not a huge selection of choices but enough for a long weekend. Lisa was an excellent host, available throughout our stay for little questions we had. We would love to stay again in the summer to see what it’s like when it’s not covered in snow. The lake is absolutely beautiful. 100% recommend. You’ll have a great time.

Michala’s place was comfortable and neat. We LOVED the 3 seasons room - that was our favorite. It’s just like the photos, we had a quiet relaxing weekend for our anniversary by the fire. The only “con” I can say is There was a guestbook with past guests to write about their stay but there wasn’t any room for us to make an entry. I would have loved to write in the book. There was plenty of cooking/eating utensils and extra soaps and shampoos provided which was great. Wonderful place - would definitely come back.

We had a great time at Still Point & the surrounding areas. The house was well stocked with supplies. It was clean (keep in mind you are in the woods & mountains) & well maintained. Michael & Isabelle were easy to communicate with & quick to respond. The scenery around the house was beautiful & relaxing. Listening to the Loons just about every day & watching the beavers frolic one night was amazing. The surrounding areas & attractions were easily accessible & just a short drive. Yet, you felt like you were all alone & secluded when at Still point. Our kids had so much fun at the house & on all the adventures we took. The only downside was leaving! Thank you, Michael & Isabelle, for sharing your home & providing lasting memories for our family!!!

It was a mint, retro house with all modern conveniences. Everything was as it it was just built! Like time travel to my childhood.

If you are looking for a lakefront property with mountain views, then this is your place. Top to bottom the house had everything you could ask for in a weekend getaway. There is a new paver patio out back with a really nice fire pit and hot tub. The house sleeps 10 people very comfortably. Overall we are very happy with our stay. I would love to stay here again. We had a perfect, relaxing long weekend thanks to Anna & JP's home.
