Castle holiday rentals in Franche-Comté

Great stay for a family party. There is enough bathroom for everyone, the kitchen is nice. The garden and trampoline were enjoyed by young and old too.

This is the most magical place we’ve ever stayed. The owners invite you to stay in the castle where they live and you are transported to another place and time. The hospitality, the breakfast, the beautiful rooms, the charcuterie and wine on the terrace over the moat, the garden and access to the paths on the grounds: the ambience of the entire place is off the charts. My favorite part might be the mural filled with birds, flowers, butterflies and other creatures in all four seasons painted by the owner. It fills all four walls of a dining room! The whole experience is one you’ll always treasure.

Not many travelers get to say that they’ve stayed in a chateau like Jacques’ in Thenissey. I live in Dijon and used to work in the area so when I found this accommodation to surprise my mom & brother during their visit, we were all overwhelmed with the simple beauty of this chateau and the countryside around it. Jacques is very kind and welcoming. If we needed anything, he was just a phone call away. He offered to show us around his chateau and we regret not finding the time to do so in our plans. The accommodation is modern and up to date with everything you need, including in the kitchen and two bathrooms. A train does by pass by but you will need a car to explore the region. And come already equipped with groceries and a full tank of gas because the closest supermarket is about 15-20min away! We absolutely loved the moats, “feeding” the fish, the staircase into the basement, and even the chateau-smell that makes this experience absolutely worth it during your visit to Burgundy.

Our family of four with two daughters stayed here and had a very nice time. We stayed in the Empire suite which is actually two bedrooms. There are other room options in Henri’s listings, but this was good for us. It was nice to feel actually on vacation and to just relax rather than running around in the cities on the other parts of our trip. Outdoors, our daughters enjoyed the ping-pong table and trampoline and swing. We also used the swimming pool and went for a walk through the woods around the property then later spent time in the library exploring the old books. I enjoyed sitting on the outdoor table in the morning, enjoying the beautiful views. The castle Château is very beautiful and well maintained. The hosts are very attentive and kind. We had a wonderful wine weekend with friends in a beautiful setting. Perfectly located to visit wineries and discover the beautiful region. We had beautiful weather so we could dine royally with a view of the castle, the valley and a beautiful sunset.

Delightful stay I have visited similar facilities as a tourist many times and have always dreamed of living in one of these rooms. With two wonderful and passionate sister, I was able to fulfill my dream. The breakfast was delicious, and after that we had a fantastic surprise, completely free of charge we had a tour of the entire castle along with the underground

We loved our stay at Rosita's place! It's a special place with a special history. Ideal to relax and unwind. The site has been very nicely restored, the guest rooms have all the comfort and have remained authentic. You need to go there to experience it! Rosita is a good hostess  very attentive and very flexible. Recommend! Merci Rosita!

We had a great time with the family. The cottage is perfect for 4 people: 2 bedrooms, one large, comfortable bedding, good equipment, charm of the old stones. The park is very pleasant, the pool is large (but a little cool at the end of August) and the ideal place to visit Beaune and its surroundings. Very nice welcome too: clear information and easy communication. We recommend!

We spent 2 nights in a great apartment in a castle. From the living room and kitchen, we were delighted to contemplate the view of Montreux and the lake. You will be surrounded by greenery and birds. A place to visit at least once in your life if you want to experience a stay in a picturesque setting like a castle while enjoying modern comforts.

Great stay! Games in a mess, as we hoped. We nostalgic forty-somethings loved this weekend of regression :-)

We stayed two nights with our adult children and friends. Plenty of room for all, enjoyed the pool and outdoors. Had lovely meals together in the large kitchen! Wonderful time.

The chateau was absolutely brilliant. We had a delightful stay. It is only a ten minute drive from Annecy and you will need a car as it is located in a small quaint township, although ubers and taxis are easy to get. The apartment is spacious, modern and comfortable while maintaining the features of the original centuries old building. We felt very at home and plan to return. There is an excellent restaurant next to the chateau but make sure to book as it gets busy. The location is extremely peaceful and the views across the fields beautiful. The caretaker gave us fresh lettuce and cherries from the garden for our lunch. Highly recommend if you are looking for something out of the ordinary where you can relax and enjoy the local ambience. We can't wait to get back!

We had a great time at this beautiful mansion, spacious, bright and warm. Its cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for hosting people or for a family stay. Despite a view of factories across the street, with continuous smoke and a little noise, we were fully satisfied with the standard offered. The interior design is a clever mix of old charm and modernity, which brings a lot of character to the place. We strongly recommend this mansion. It would certainly be even more pleasant in summer, especially to enjoy the pool. Again, thank you for this great experience!

We had a super nice time here as a family with 5 boys. Wonderfully spacious place and played hide-and-seek with pleasure. No luxury place/decor/amenities, but price-quality ratio was really fine. Wonderful surroundings against the forest. The house was above expectations nice and warm due to wood heating and fireplace. Also nice warm bath and shower. Friendly contact with manager and owner. Overall very satisfied!

Fabienne was an excellent host! The grounds were amazing on the vineyard and the park area was serene. Had two peaceful, quiet days in the residence and surrounding area. Would visit again without any doubt where to stay. Thank you so much for a great experience at your location.

Such a beautiful and unique place. A wonderful and authentic experience, helpful, welcoming and very kind hostess to check us in. Area is amazing with many fantastic opportunities. Wine, cheese, mountains charming cities the beautiful Lac du Bourget, Aix en Provence, fantastic restaurants and much more! We definitely want to return and bring family and friends too

We had a very good stay at Sabine's accommodation, she was very welcoming and attentive. We felt right at home. The accommodation is very comfortable and good location.

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was the most amazing stay, definitely in my top 3 of all time. The rooms were huge and beautiful. Le Rudli only opened in March and it shows. The place was clean, fresh and well maintained, the views of the mountains and lake Thun were breathtaking. The breakfast was incredibly tasty and such a variety of local organic ingredients used. The hosts Moni and Urs were wonderful, Moni goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. She even prayed for me as I was unwell. Its a magical place hidden away in Swiss nature. I could go on and on and on, I’d definitely come back and stay for longer. It felt sad to leave. Oh and the beds and pillows are the most comfortable ever, perfect for relaxing after a long day of hiking. DO NOT HESITATE CLICK THE BOOK BUTTON AND BOOK IT NOW YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

We can’t say enough about our stay here. The renovated property is beautifully done with great attention to detail. Every room maintains its original charm while providing the modern amenities expected. Its location is perfectly situated for hiking, but also a short drive to Thun and Spiez for restaurants. On top of the fabulous property and location, Moni and Urs are exceptional hosts. The breakfast every day in the dining room is something out of a dream, and when we left too early to make breakfast, they made us sandwiches (6!?!?) for our long travel day. Moni also gave us a terrific hike recommendation that let us escape the crowds while still getting majestic views. Couldn’t say enough about them and the place and can only hope to be back one day! Thank you SO MUCH for hosting us!!!!

We had SUCH a wonderful time visit Le Ruhli for a couple of nights. The place was more beautiful than the pictures; they have restored the house wonderfully. Moni and Urs were lovely hosts and were very helpful. The breakfast provided was so delicious. A peaceful stay and blessing to us both!
