Castle holiday rentals in Franche-Comté

Not many travelers get to say that they’ve stayed in a chateau like Jacques’ in Thenissey. I live in Dijon and used to work in the area so when I found this accommodation to surprise my mom & brother during their visit, we were all overwhelmed with the simple beauty of this chateau and the countryside around it. Jacques is very kind and welcoming. If we needed anything, he was just a phone call away. He offered to show us around his chateau and we regret not finding the time to do so in our plans. The accommodation is modern and up to date with everything you need, including in the kitchen and two bathrooms. A train does by pass by but you will need a car to explore the region. And come already equipped with groceries and a full tank of gas because the closest supermarket is about 15-20min away! We absolutely loved the moats, “feeding” the fish, the staircase into the basement, and even the chateau-smell that makes this experience absolutely worth it during your visit to Burgundy.

Our family of four with two daughters stayed here and had a very nice time. We stayed in the Empire suite which is actually two bedrooms. There are other room options in Henri’s listings, but this was good for us. It was nice to feel actually on vacation and to just relax rather than running around in the cities on the other parts of our trip. Outdoors, our daughters enjoyed the ping-pong table and trampoline and swing. We also used the swimming pool and went for a walk through the woods around the property then later spent time in the library exploring the old books. I enjoyed sitting on the outdoor table in the morning, enjoying the beautiful views. The castle Château is very beautiful and well maintained. The hosts are very attentive and kind. Thank you for the wonderful visit.

Expérience tout à fait agréable! L'accueil de Murielle était parfait ainsi que le petit-déjeuner préparé par ses soins. L'endroit est magnifique et c'est peu de le dire! Nous avions la piscine rien que pour nous. Literie impeccable. Nous aimerions revenir !

We hadden een heerlijk wijnweekend met vrienden in een prachtig kader. Perfect gelegen om wijnhuizen te bezoeken en de mooie regio te ontdekken. We hadden prachtig weer dus konden koninklijk dineren met zicht op het kasteel, de vallei en een prachtige zonsondergang.

Rewelacyjny pobyt Wielokrotnie zwiedzałem podobne obiekty jako turysta i zawsze marzyłem aby zamieszkać w jednym z tych pomieszczeń. Dzięki dwóm wspaniałym i pełnych pasji siostra udało mi się spełnić moje marzenie. Śniadanie było przepyszne, a po nim mieliśmy fantastyczną niespodziankę, całkowicie za darmo mieliśmy wycieczkę po całym zamku wraz z podziemiami

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf bij Rosita! Het is een bijzondere plek met een bijzondere geschiedenis. Ideaal om tot rust te komen. De site is heel mooi gerestaureerd  de gastenkamers hebben alle comfort en zijn toch authentiek gebleven. Je moet er naartoe om het te ervaren! Rosita is een goede gastvrouw  heel attent en heel flexibel. Een aanrader! Merci Rosita!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille. Le gîte est parfait pour 4 personnes : 2 chambres dont une grande, literie confortable, bon équipement, charme des vieilles pierres. Le parc est très agréable, la piscine est grande (mais un peu fraîche en cette fin de mois d'août) et le lieu idéal pour visiter Beaune et ses alentours. Très bon accueil également : informations claires et communication facile. Nous recommandons !

Such an amazing experience!! The hosts were very friendly, the room was quirky and very tidy/clean, the grounds were gorgeous and the dogs welcomed us warmly on arrival. Highly recommend having dinner at the restaurant as the food was delicious and made our stay!

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans un super appartement dans un château. Depuis le salon et la cuisine, nous étions ravis de contempler la vue sur montreux et le lac. Vous serez entourés de verdure et d’oiseaux. Un lieu à faire au moins une fois dans sa vie si vous voulez expérimenter un séjour dans un cadre pittoresque comme un château tout en profitant du confort moderne.

Superbe séjour ! Des jeux en pagaille, comme nous l espérions. Les quadragénaires nostalgiques que nous sommes avons adoré ce we de régression :-)

We stayed two nights with our adult children and friends. Plenty of room for all, enjoyed the pool and outdoors. Had lovely meals together in the large kitchen! Wonderful time.

Staying at the castle was such an amazing experience. It was the perfect location, close enough to visit Annecy but far enough to have peace and privacy. The apartment was huge and very comfortable. And the host, Floriane was very helpful. If you are lucky enough to come across this listing, do not hesitate! It is truly an unforgettable experience.

Fabienne was an excellent host! The grounds were amazing on the vineyard and the park area was serene. Had two peaceful, quiet days in the residence and surrounding area. Would visit again without any doubt where to stay. Thank you so much for a great experience at your location.

Magnifique cadre et séjour au château, nous avons profité de la terasse et des activités sur le Lac de Bourget, moins de la belle piscine qui a demeuré très froide. On s’y habitue vite à la vie au château, notre appartement était astucieusement aménagé, décoré avec beaucoup de goût. J’ai adoré. Bien sûr il manque le four (mais je suis pas en vacances pour me mettre aux fourneaux), la salle de bain était petite (mais assez d’espaces aménagés pour ranger et continuer sa toilette en dehors), le canapé lit et beau mais pas confortable pour un couchage d’adulte (censé être utilisé par notre enfant, mais pas de chance pour papa). Au total nous avons passé un bon séjour au château(papa a trouvé une orientation satisfaisante sur le canapé). Il a beaucoup de charme, c’est assez calme et propice à la réflexion et à la lecture, l’étude des petits renards qui sont probablement nourris pas les touristes. J’aurais aimé apprendre plus sur l’histoire et l’évolution des travaux, on a Googlisé XOXO

We had an amazing stay there for a work teambuilding event. We loved the facilities and enjoyed the quirkiness of this little castle. We had plenty to do there and were able to really enjoy our three days there. We will consider going back there for sure. Bring your own tennis rackets- other than that you will have everything you needed for an amazing stay for a big group
