The old dye works, a factory from the 19th century. century, was expanded for mixed use. In addition to apartments, workshops and a doctor's office, guest rooms were created under the shed roofs of the factory halls. It was important to us to give the old building fabric a new use and to make it tangible. We were able to completely preserve the building envelope and reuse renewed components in a different context. New components were used in their natural state.

Welcome to Steinen-Schlächtenhaus, in the beautiful southern Black Forest! Because here is your renovated apartment. A 1-room apartment on the first floor of an old farmhouse with a separate entrance and about 23 square meters of space, which we have lovingly brought to its current state. The area is perfect for hikers, motorcyclists, bikers and otherwise all who love nature. It is also not far to Lörrach (14 km), Schopfheim (13 km) or Basel (27 km).

Located in the district of Fahrnau, the accommodation offers many opportunities for excursions to the Black Forest, the Rhine, Switzerland or France to the Vosges. Also within walking distance are the various grocery stores, natural food shops, restaurants and venues. The apartment itself has beautiful views in all directions.

Until there is no 5 minute walk. Zell lies at 426 m and is framed by hills and mountains to over 1000 m altitude. It is a small town with good shopping and good connection to bus and train. You can borrow a bicycle for small tours for 5€ / day
