Chalet holiday rentals in Hochkönig

The three of us (one adult and two teenagers) spent a wonderfully relaxing week here. Christoph is a great and uncomplicated host who responds very promptly to questions. The cottage itself is exactly as described. The approach is via a narrow path (on which we met two riders on our arrival, which led to a not entirely easy "reverse maneuver"). Behind the house, a stream splashes, but you can't hear it with the windows closed (although I'm quite sensitive to noise). In front of the house, a hiking trail passes by that we used for two tours ("Hochebene Maria Elend - Kapelleralm Runde von Embach" and "Spektakulärer Skywalk - Taxenbach-Wasserfall Runde von Taxenbach" ... just check Komoot). The Berggolf round (clubs and balls are available in the information office in the village) is also fun. The Langreiter pizzeria is highly recommended. The only sticking point: the bunk bed for people > 1.90m.

Florian is a great host. His cabin is romantic and practical at the same time. Located on a beautiful sunny slope, it was an ideal starting point for wonderful days of skiing for us. The panoramic view is beautiful at any time and mood. The cabin has everything we needed with its furnishings and was both original and familiar at the same time. We were completely happy.

Emma was a very friendly hostess. She was able to give us many tips on hikes nearby and always responded after a short time. The accommodation looks much nicer in real life than in the pictures. Everything was clean and very modern. The arrival and departure worked out great and there are good parking facilities. Emma welcomed us with a very tasty apple strudel. The nature and the view were beautiful. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and visit it again. Thanks a lot!

Mira's house is very comfortable, warm and spacious, it is cared for in every detail and enjoys a splendid view of the valley. A few minutes away is the Goldeck ski resort and about 40 minutes away is the pearl of Lake Weissensee, where you can ice skate and do other winter activities. The family was very kind and always available and very, very friendly. We were lucky not to have snowfall so we didn't put on the chains, however we recommend a 4x4 car to reach the accommodation in the middle of winter, as usual. Thanks for everything, we'll definitely be back!!

Great choice for bigger groups

We stayed in Sven's house for a short week. It is even more spacious, more atmospheric and tastefully decorated than in the photos. A very spacious living room and spacious bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped. Bathroom is spacious and beautiful. The whole house is clean and tidy. The garden is not spacious but sufficiently large. You can enjoy the birdsong. Enjoy the sun or sit cool in the shade. Sven's dog is very sweet and likes to say hello. This also applies to Caesar, the neighbor's friendly dog who likes to walk with you or stop by for a pat on the head. There is some activity on the farm next door. Certainly not all day long. It didn't bother us either. We immediately felt at ease, thanks in part to Sven's kindness!

We had a wonderful stay and a great weekend. The hiking trails are fantastic, the locals are super nice. The hosts helped us with all questions and responded quickly. Simply great!

The accommodation is perfect! There are all kinds of amenities, enough space and everything is clean. The sauna and jacuzzi are an absolute highlight and very easy to use. The accommodation is super cozy. I can recommend it to everyone.

I would definitely like to emphasize how attention to detail, architecturally perfect, lovingly warmly furnished and how diverse the amenities were. We were speechless! We are interior designers and know about the different variants of the feel-good.

We had a really wonderful stay, plenty of space, great amenities and everything very clean. We were 5 girls and we were all thrilled. The terrace is theoretically visible from neighbors, but we hardly noticed each other. Supermarkets are in the immediate vicinity, otherwise we were mainly in the accommodation and can hardly judge the area (except for the beautiful view). Grill, fire bowl, deck chairs ... everything is there. The only drawback (but really only a complaint at the highest level): The light on the terrace has a timer, we would have liked it off - so if you are sensitive to light when sleeping and still need fresh air, you might want to bring a sleeping mask. But we also didn't ask, so maybe you can turn off the light somehow. Highly recommended overall.

Oliver was a great host - very helpful, polite and accommodating. The house was in very good condition and well maintained. We would come back anytime.

10/10 - Airbnbs fall into two camps, they either exceed your expectations or don't live up to them. This chalet absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. Alex and his lovely wife are so hospitable, the house is immaculate, and every single detail was impeccably managed. We felt so at home here with our 4 year old daughter for 8 nights. The chalet is above a wonderful restaurant that Alex and his wife run called Oberegger Alm, it's fully stocked with items that are non what you would typically find in a normal Aibnb, but rather nice quality items you would have in your own home, the views are unbeatable, there is no noise (save the sound of cowbells from the cows roaming around the mountains), and there is an incredible playground (slide, swings, trampoline) for kids to play! Having stayed in dozens of Airbnbs around the world for the last 10+ years, this Airbnb is in my top 2-3 all time. Absolutely recommend to anyone! Thank you Alex!

Our group had a lovely time, perfect getaway ski trip. The house is as advertised, very clean, great views and is in pristine condition overall. The hosts were very nice and helpful throughout our stay whenever we needed to reach out to them. There's plenty of slopes near by to choose from, one within walking distance but a car is recommended to have around even tho there are ski busses. Some shops and restaurants are nearby incl ski rentals. Overall a great experience in a lovely location with great hosts. We'll probably try to come back in the future as an even bigger group.

The holiday in this house was just perfect. The living ambience including sauna is second to none and the paths to the elevator, restaurants and shopping are short. Claudia's organization as well as communicating with her are impeccable. I'd love to come back...

We were very lucky with this place. We had to spontaneously cancel a place to stay because it didn't match the description and was super dirty. Then we found this gem and what luck - it was still available! The host immediately got down to business and cleaned the accommodation top, nice reception and everything around it just top. Super amenities, old barn converted to high quality, great location, just 10 minutes to the ski resorts. Super friendly landlord and a real recommendation!

The place is lovely! Great location and great chalet. Everything was really great. The only point that irritated us a bit was the check-in and check-out times. Check-in is only from 4 PM.. although we were only able to arrive later due to work, but checking out at 10 AM is quite sporty.. We didn't really have this on our radar and overslept, so I contacted the host and explained that we overslept and would only check out around 10:30 AM. At 10:25 AM a man knocks and without further words he goes into the chalet to clean the hot tub. No hello or goodbye. Of course, you would have to pay attention to the times yourself when booking, this got lost with us. Nevertheless, everything else was great and I can definitely recommend the place!

The four of us had a wonderful extended weekend at this place and can fully recommend it. There was absolutely nothing to fault! The hosts were already very helpful in advance and communication was excellent. 5 stars in all areas!

The place was really great. Super kid friendly and great location. There is another house between the house and the lake, but there is still direct access to the lake. It's also really great and great cooling in the summer. The owners are always available and available in the restaurant next door (this is also highly recommended!).

It was a wonderful stay. We were there with 4 people and a dog. The place is very clean, the beds and towels were fresh and washed. 🫧 We liked the sauna in the bathroom best, which was extremely easy to use and the perfect relaxation after long days of hiking. 😍 The view (directly onto the reservoir with the mountains around) as well as the privacy was just as beautiful. However, you have to accept that the nearest supermarket, etc., is 17 km away. But we would take this over and over again for such a great place to stay.🥹 The house has everything you need.🤗 The communication was also great, as was the descriptions. There is no even better price-performance ratio. Thank you for this lovely getaway.❤️

The house is very cozy and perfect for an outdoor / fitness holiday. The gym is well equipped and the sauna offers the perfect relaxation opportunity. Angelika and Jürgen are super friendly and accommodating, check-in and check-out were smooth and communication very fast and always warm. We especially liked the hiking trails in the immediate vicinity. All in all definitely extremely recommended!

The cottage was easily accessible. Check-in and check-out are very straightforward. Unfortunately we had very bad weather, but when we entered the house it was nice and warm and very comfortable. That is why we enjoyed staying indoors and enjoyed our time there. Each room had its own bathroom with toilet, which is really great. Overall, we had a great stay. Absolutely recommended.

Our stay at the Steinbock was a complete success. The accommodation was clean, cozy and equipped with everything you need. We especially liked the quiet location with the magnificent view - perfect for relaxing. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and always easily accessible. We immediately felt welcome. The surrounding area also offers many great opportunities for hiking and exploring. We will be happy to come back!

We were there for the AirPower event. Unfortunately a little longer away by car, but ideal for overnight and sleeping. Everything is available, some things could be modernized, but that doesn't detract from the feel-good factor.
