Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Horsham District

The shepherds hut and the location was perfect for us. We have loved the peaceful nature surrounding us. The owner, Chris was helpful and we got all the instructions that helped us to find some closeby experienced when we needed.

molly dishwasher is in an absolutely stunning location the pictures don't do justice to how stunning this place is your surrounded by the most beautiful views in the most peaceful location, me and my family had the most amazing 2 nights staying here and the little personal touches added on top just make it that much more special, moppy is an amazing host and let the boys help feed the animals on the last night which they absolutely loved, there is another hut on site but you cant see them so you have amazing privacy. I can see why lots of people who stay here are on there 7th visit as its a place you'll want to re visit after staying. we will defiantly be back soon, thank you for an amazing stay.

I would recommend skylark to anyone looking for some peace. I went alone. I felt completely safe. I knew the farm house was close by but I also had complete privacy so i was able to fully relax. Having the fire pit was wonderful. I used it every evening and sat under the stars. I loved having my own kitchen and bathroom. Moppy was always responsive. I needed more logs and they arrived promptly. She left plenty of food in the fridge. Eggs. Bacon. Sausages. Croissant. Muesli.Milk. Butter. Good coffee etc. I didn't want fro anything at all. Moppy even took me to the train station on my return. A lovely woman and a lovely family.Thanks, Moppy

My husband and I had a great stay at the Shepherds Hut. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, and relaxed with a nice Barbeque ( which was provided!). The highlight was lighting the fire pit in the evening and huddling around the flames. Kellie was super helpful, and the kitchen/ bathroom had everything we needed. We would love to come back!

Located in a wonderful private garden full of flowers and birdsong. Next to walks and good for cycling; definitely planning to come back.

A peaceful retreat - perfect for a weekend getaway.

What a beautiful cabin/shepherds hut and location. I booked a solo weekend getaway and travelled by train from London, getting a taxi from Woking. All easy. Hosts came to say hello and were super friendly and welcoming. I went on a couple of nice walks but could have easily hung around the cabin all weekend. Perfect for solo getaway or as a couple. Lovely stay for a few nights. The orchard is beautiful and completely enclosed even for our small dog (and child) so we could let him run around. Next to a quiet road, with occasional cars, the area is peaceful with the sounds of birds and occasionally the cows. We loved having the dining hut too so we could spread out a bit and toast marshmallows. Our five year old loved Dinosaur Island in the nearby country park and paddling in the lake there. We also had a wonderful day out on the Bluebell railway. Great short trip!

I booked this stay very last minute and enjoyed every second of it. Elaine was very welcoming when we arrived. She made it clear with the instructions for the hut and also had fresh warm homage bread, which was perfect for the morning breakfast with peaceful scenery. The location is perfect, right near the harbour and a lovely farm shop near. I can't recommend this stay enough!

We'd never stayed in a shepherd's hut and weren't really sure what to expect but it was lovely, and the outside shower was a revelation - why have I not experienced an outside shower before?!

We had the most amazing weekend getaway! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The space was cozy, clean, and beautifully set up for a relaxing break—and the hot tub was definitely the highlight! What made our stay even more special was our wonderful hostess, Sam. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and made us feel right at home. From thoughtful little touches to helpful local recommendations, she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with all the right vibes and a host who truly cares, look no further!

Emily is a great host, friendly and helpful. Gave us lots of local recommendations. The place is good, BBQ and fire pit was fantastic. Farm shop is nearby. The only small downside is the traffic noise.

We had a lovely stay at Dom’s place. The location is perfect for a couple of days’ break from London, especially if - like us - you don’t drive; it is just a short distance from the station and for a 40 minute journey from zone 1, feels a world away. Dom was very accommodating, especially as we brought our 3 month old baby. The baby enjoyed his first ever swim in the lovely warm pool! And the rest of the amenities/ the hut itself are equally excellent. Would also highly recommend a trip to the Samuel Palmer pub for a pint of locally brewed ale, and the Mount Vineyard for some excellent wines, both of which are a short walk from the hut. Would definitely stay again, thanks Dom!

We had a great time this weekend and it's all thanks for Emma and Chris' accommodating nature to us. We had booked last minute and they were very responsive, the accommodation was amazing, super cosy and super clean. We were able to use the pool, the communications were great and the surroundings were beautiful. Emma kindly supported with getting around the area, we recommend that you book taxi's in advance! Emily and her husband were lovely hosts. The shepherds hut was peaceful and cosy. Two nice pubs nearby. Would definitely stay again.

The hut is really cute, it feels very warm and homely and was exactly as it was pictured. The outside area is good, the fire pit was cool and really good for cooking. The surrounding area felt safe and quiet, also lots of birds in the trees and horses in nearby fields. The hut can get quite warm when you’ve been out for the day and the doors are shut so be mindful of leaving food out. A bug screen/curtain on the doors would be nice, other than that fantastic place 10/10 highly recommend. Great for walking and animal spotting, we saw some deer in the woods literally 2mins away and loads of different birds as well.

Absolutely amazing! This is such a great find! We had family staying at Whitecliff Caravan park so this was perfect for us as a couple who prefer something a little more alternative to a caravan! Every was as described, and more! All the little details had been thought of… from discounted ferry, fresh milk, bread and eggs (thank you!) plus soft bedding and local recommendations. The whole check in and out process was seamless and very private, but we knew help was there should we need it. We have stayed in a few Shepherds huts and this was by far the best.. clean, tidy with just the right amount of personal touches. Thank you!

I stayed with my 5yr old daughter. The first thing she said - ‘feels like we are living in a dream’ and she wasn’t wrong! Isobel has created the most wonderful garden, it felt very special to have a weekend relaxing amongst all the beautiful flowers. The hut was amazing, it had all the required amenities and kept us very comfortable throughout our stay. Isobel left us milk, butter, wine and that lemon drizzle cake! Wow, it was delicious with a cup of coffee! Isobel was very kind to heat the plunge pool which my daughter had so much fun playing in. (Thank you) Isobel and her family were extremely welcoming, I was provided with top service and a dinner booking sorted out for me! We met Ron the dog, who had a great time running around the garden with my daughter, she hasn’t stop talking about him! Such a wonderful stay! We will definitely be back! Our stay at Kim's place was excellent. If you are after some peace and quiet, then this place is for you. Kim met us upon arrival, was friendly and very helpful. We couldn't have asked for more and no doubt we will definitely be returning! Raj and Judit

Had a lovely night in Jennifer’s Shepards hut, beautiful location and felt immediately cosy and comfortable. Beautiful walks in surrounding area and all the facilities to cook a lovely meal around the fire. Slept really well and felt so relaxed. The only downside was no coffee plunger/ jug for the morning, but that’s all. Otherwise perfect and would love to come back. Thank you Jennifer.

We had a lovely couple of nights here as we were in the area for a family wedding. It is idyllic - so quiet and peaceful. For a shepherd's hut we were amazed by the space inside. full height shower and spacious etc. Kitchen was well resourced and the bed was very comfy and cosy. Local curry house, Blue India, about ten mins drive away and that was lovely. Really can't fault the place. Bit of a tricky walk from the car park to the hut, but when you get there and are in total silence and green space, you appreciate it! We'll be coming back, for sure.

An amazing property, lovely location, super clean cabin with everything you could need and more! Fiona was extremely welcoming and helpful, all the information provided was clear and easy to follow, there was a number of extras in the property at check in and always at the end of the phone for any information we needed on the area. The Deer Hut is a total gem, tucked away down a country lane with a lovely outlook. Was so peaceful and I loved lying on the cosy cabin bed watching the sun go down through the stable-type door. Emma was really friendly and helpful, even lending me scales which I randomly needed! The hut has everything you could ask for and more - it's been beautifully fitted out with such attention to detail. I'll definitely be back!
