House holiday rentals in Iceland

Nice place to stay with plenty to see around! I worked remotely here and enjoyed the kitties daily visits on the back porch! In unit laundry was wonderful and having all the appliances I needed- kettle, microwave! Thanks for the great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the lovely house. Our highlight was for sure the lovely living area with its huge windows to watch the ocean and the arriving planes as well as fabulous whirlpool :)

Björgvin is a great host and his place was everything our group was looking for. Remote house, with a hot tub, grill and good vibes. The location and the view from the terrace is beautiful with only a few minutes drive to the nearest town. Björgvin was really friendly and offered his assistance if we needed anything which was a nice touch.

What a great find! The place was perfect and the rooms were spacious, warm and comfortable. The kids loved the hot tub and I loved the books! I read a Steinbeck book which I greatly appreciated. The kitchen was beautiful as was the sunroom. I imagine the sunroom would be the perfect room to see the Northern Lights. The neighborhood was peaceful and we even got to spend a little time with one of the neighbors who was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very spacious, clean & nicely designed. If you are looking for horseback riding our kids LOVED “Riding Tours South Iceland.” Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I would love to return there someday.

Great stay in beautiful environment.

This house is beautiful and the view is amazing. We loved soaking in the hot tub while gazing at the glacier in the distance, surrounded by trees. There are stairs to access the house, but we were able to navigate them just fine. The nearby town had a lovely spa, Laugarvatn Fontana, that we enjoyed, and we recommend the restaurant Linden. We stayed two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The host was responsive and friendly. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic New Year in a beautiful Nordic family home. Jön's accommodation was beautiful and a wonderful resting place. It was fantastic to stay here in Iceland.

Perfect and spacious accommodation

I was a little nervous when we first pulled up, as the outside looked a little worn. I was quite surprised when I walked inside. It had clearly been remodeled and had the cutest decor. The home was very cozy and inviting. It also smelled lovely. The fold out sofa was extra cozy and my kids enjoyed sleeping on it. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and only wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful location and excellent accommodations.

A beautiful, peaceful setting, with stunning views. Kathrin and her husband let us know when the northern lights appeared one evening and helped us with the settings on our i-phone so we could take the best pictures. Very appreciative or their help. We highly recommend their quiet cottage.

This was the perfect stop on our travels through Iceland. My kids loved the sheep, the stream and the grass to run in. The house was clean and included all amenities. Our group of 9 was comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was 1 1/2 bathrooms. There’s a half bath upstairs with the kitchen and two bedrooms. The washer and dryer were very helpful considering that this stop was a week into our trip. I would definitely stay here again.

Our 4 night stay in Larus’ Lakefront Villa & nearby attractions of the Golden Circle were one of the highlights of our trip-we highly recommend! His home is spectacular in every way, including a hot tub, sauna, a large living room/gathering space w/well appointed kitchen. Directly on a lake, without others in close proximity, it’s ideal for those that want to experience the splendor of this part of Iceland more privately. As a host, Larus goes above & beyond! We had brought some equipment to fish the river 100 yards away, but not small enough tackle. When we emailed him asking location of a tackle shop, after returning from a daily activity, we were surprised & delighted to find 2 more rods & 2 new trays of tackle appropriate for the trout in the river; giving 4 of our group the chance to do some fishing in Iceland. The most aesthetic, cozy cabin we've stayed in. What a charming little place! Keep in mind it's full windows and is in the backyard of Helga's place so privacy was a little difficult unless you keep the shades down but then you don't get enjoy the full glass look. Everything was clean and tidy and felt like home to stay in. Also keep in mind that if you go in summer with late sunsets and early sunrises the upper windows have no shades so you always have sunlight coming in at all hours of the day, bring a sleep mask because this place is worth it!

This place is truely amazing! It is surrounded by nature and the view is outstanding. We would love to come back one day and would happily recommend it to others!

Fantastic apartment on a farm, complete with friendly dogs. Looked even better than the photos. Beautiful setting, so peaceful but only 10 mins drive from Vik for groceries and gas. Very spacious, comfy beds, well stocked kitchen and new looking bathroom with great shower. WiFi was good too. So much to explore within driving distance. Highly recommended .

We stayed four nights and did day trips from the house. It was a great starting point for the northern Golden Circle. The house is lovely and as pictured. The kitchen is nicely equipped for meals at home. Loved the views and the hotpot. We would love to return!

True gem! Lovely place to stay. The accommodation is quiet, very clean and charming! We had a perfect stay. If you want to spend a few days in a tranquil state, don't hesitate! Birkir is an amazing host, friendly and helpful. ...and the view from the windows - magic and stunning

The house was great - extremely well located to see all that is available in Myvatn and well equipped. We were easily able to cook in the kitchen and although the house was small, there was plenty of room for our group of 5 (2 adults and 3 teens). Our only complaint was that the lights outside of the house couldn't be shut off. They were on a timer and stayed on from 6 pm to 6 am. They shone in all the windows all night, requiring us to use the blackout shades, and made it difficult to see and photograph the northern lights, which were fantastic while we were there. We had to go down the road to take photos. Consider this if you are looking for isolation and darkness - the home is located super close to attractions, yet far from everything, except it's own light pollution.

Fantastic home in an adorable town! This home has so much character compared to the usual sterile Airbnb homes. Photos of the extended family were so enjoyable to peruse. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Stunning and peaceful location off the beaten track! We had a great stay and David was responsive and helpful.

I wish we could have stayed here for a week. Or a month. Such a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great design and architecture. Happy little signs of family life but also spacious and accommodating. Both secluded and close to Akureyri. Only regret is that I didn’t try out one of the many hammocks on the property. Loved taking a small watercolor, painted by the host’s mother, home as a reminder of our stay.
