Waterfront holiday rentals in Iceland

We couldn’t have dreamt of a better location for a trip to Iceland. Anna was superb in the least up and gave som many helpful suggestions. She was an impeccable host. So kind. Friendly and helpful. Thank you both for an idyllic stay.

I don't know where to start. We were tired from an overnight flight and when we got to the apartment we felt so relaxed. Disa is a wonderful hostess and it was such a pleasure to have several conversations with her. She is so energetic and friendly. Skagafell was so comfortable to be in. Phenomenal bed, plenty of hot water and very nice temperature inside. Several times we saw horses go through and saw several herds as we approached our place. You can't go wrong renting this unique place.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Jon’s Penthouse. It was easy walking distance to all the main sights in Reykjavik, plus there were many restaurants and groceries close by. Since there was an elevator to the fourth floor, it was easy to manage with luggage. Even though it is in the city, we never heard any noise. The apartment is very tidy and has all the amenities needed for a nice stay. We did not totally understand how to use the hot spot, but did not need it since we had eSIMs. Each evening we watched a variety of movies on Netflix, which were much appreciated. Although it was pleasant when we arrived at the end of May, by the beginning of June a huge storm arrived and it was so windy, I could barely stand when walking. However, Jon’s place is a warm and quiet oasis in a storm.

The place was cozy, easy to find and in concordance with what Kristin said. Amazing place.

We had an extremely enjoyable and relaxed stay here for over a week. It's perfect for 2 people who are focused on seeing the sites of Iceland. A great location only 15 minutes south of Reykjavik and easy to jump on the road for day trip adventures. The view out the window of the harbor is wonderful sitting on the couch at the end of a long day of adventure. Then, if tired don't worry you have 3 nice restaurants very quick walking distances from you. Snaedis provided a thoughtful welcome basket and beers for us, 3 different times during our stay! We also had a grocery store just a minute down the road that made things easy. I can't say enough good things about the hospitality and highly recommend!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Ingi's flat! iIt was such a comfortable home base for us for a few days in Iceland. The location is the best -- walking distance to everything you need in Reykjavik, with the harbor and great cafes and bakeries right outside. The price was great, the bed was comfy, and the views out the window were beautiful. The bathroom was also nice. The building was secure and felt very safe. The towels could be a little softer but like most places in Europe, there's no dryer, so that's to be expected. Ingi was a great host. So communicative and kind. would recommend to anyone and would love to stay in the future!

We had a very nice stay in a cozy house. Given our situation, it was very nice to be able to check in earlier. The kitchen was spacious and it was wonderfully clean.

A beautiful, peaceful setting, with stunning views. Kathrin and her husband let us know when the northern lights appeared one evening and helped us with the settings on our i-phone so we could take the best pictures. Very appreciative or their help. We highly recommend their quiet cottage.

The location of the house makes the views from the living room, the kitchen and bedrooms really spectacular and unforgettable. You love sitting and sipping morning coffee there, however there is so much to do and see in Iceland that you also don't want to sit there for too long :)) There is a nice Icelandic swimming pool, a few cute restaurants, fabulous walking paths and two supermarkets within a walking distance from the house. It's worth to mention that the house has all the equipment you need. Well, unless you need a washing machine or a dishwasher.. It's an old style house but makes really a pleasant stay.

We stayed wishing to catch the Northern Lights and we were lucky enough to do so each night and be there for a huge solar storm. We ventured out the first night and after that realized we were able to stay comfy at our airbnb and see them both in the front yard and backyard. The house was spacious and our children 7 & 1 loved the books and toys available. We were offered a portable crib and high chair which were convenient. There were plenty of novels for adults and a variety of books on Iceland. There is a washer and large drying rack, dishwasher, and full kitchen which was wonderful since it is a serene spot you can relax and not run down the road 15 minutes for food or coffee. I enjoyed walking the road to the church and admiring the horses next door. The location is remote and going to parks or the city required an hour drive. Our host was gracious and extended our check out which was helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

Our 4 night stay in Larus’ Lakefront Villa & nearby attractions of the Golden Circle were one of the highlights of our trip-we highly recommend! His home is spectacular in every way, including a hot tub, sauna, a large living room/gathering space w/well appointed kitchen. Directly on a lake, without others in close proximity, it’s ideal for those that want to experience the splendor of this part of Iceland more privately. As a host, Larus goes above & beyond! We had brought some equipment to fish the river 100 yards away, but not small enough tackle. When we emailed him asking location of a tackle shop, after returning from a daily activity, we were surprised & delighted to find 2 more rods & 2 new trays of tackle appropriate for the trout in the river; giving 4 of our group the chance to do some fishing in Iceland. Absolutely stunning views and an unbeatable location. The host was incredibly welcoming, easy to communicate with, and their pets made the stay even more delightful. Our whole family had a wonderfully relaxing time—we’d love to return!

We wish this was our house! It was a stylish design which gave beautiful views of the Icelandic countryside and wildlife around. It had everything we needed for our family of 4, including supplying a highchair and cot for our younger son. Faxifoss wayerfall was a short walk away and places like Geysir and Gullfoss were a short drive from the cottage. The owners were always quick to respond to our queries and gave us a great recommendation of a local tomato restaurant where you can eat unlimited tomato soup and bread in a greenhouse. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

I wish we could have stayed here for a week. Or a month. Such a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great design and architecture. Happy little signs of family life but also spacious and accommodating. Both secluded and close to Akureyri. Only regret is that I didn’t try out one of the many hammocks on the property. Loved taking a small watercolor, painted by the host’s mother, home as a reminder of our stay.

Location: absolutely perfect for Reykjavík. The apartment is in a quiet, family-friendly building with peaceful views, and just a short drive from everything you need. It’s ideally located for daily hikes and provides easy access to highways—great for exploring Iceland without the hassle of city-center traffic. Also a convenient drive to the airport! The apartment: beautifully designed, nicely furnished, efficient, and minimalist. It had everything we needed: cooking utensils, appliances, dishes, washer/dryer, and a handy air-drying rack (an eco-friendly touch we appreciated). The entertainment area was cozy with a comfy couch and large TV. The bed was a bit snug but still very comfortable. A great base for anyone visiting Reykjavík & Iceland for nature, comfort, and calm!

We had an exceptional stay here at Myvtan. The unit was well appointed, tastefully decorated with local influences and crafts. The owners are wonderful people and take pride in their home and business. I would highly recommend the space.

The apartment was very spacious, clean, comfortable with a lovely view of the little harbor nearby. It provided my son and I with a base to explore many of Iceland's attractions using our car rental. Getting into the city takes about 12 minutes by car and around 45 minute by bus. We opted to cook at home since there's not a lot of restaurants nearby. Generally speaking this was a fantastic place to stay and made our whole week in Iceland stress free and relaxing. The apartment also has great water pressure and lots of warm water!

It was a very beautiful flat, spectacular view and had everything we needed and more. The location is perfect to much of the tourist spots in Reykjavik and bus stop 4 is incredibly close which was so helpful. Otherwise, a few buses only stopped at 5 or 3 which are both easily walkable. As many others said, there were welcome snacks and drinks which was very thoughtful and above and beyond. Lots of cute restaurants across the street and downstairs within the same building. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

Harbor Apartment was a great place to stay! Walking distance to all the prime sights made it convenient, as well as the many restaurants. So convenient!! Host(s) were so responsive, as well as the information shared about the area, the apartment and the restaurant suggestions made our visit perfect! We definitely will return one day!

The host was really communicative and accommodating. Her home is clean and has everything. We enjoy our stay and would recommend!

Snorri and Svava’s Airbnb was so cozy, clean, and in a great location near the city and next to the water. They were so responsive and friendly! I would stay again!

It is a beautiful space, quiet, and feels just like home. The amenities were excellent and made our experience in Iceland that much better! Highly recommend!
