Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Ierapetra

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

Elpida, a dream house, definitely recommended. Not only the location and the view are sensational, but also the house itself. We (married couple 63/61) were able to enjoy Angelika's unobtrusive and warm hospitality in May 2025 and had a relaxing week in or above the beautiful village of Mochlos. We have nothing to complain about, on the contrary - we have rarely found such a great accommodation. Perfect furnishings and very well-equipped kitchen, always a shady spot and very pleasant insect protection. The steep ascent to the mountain is no problem after the first exercise. The scent of the plants is simply wonderful. The house is fantastic - it’s comfortable, cute, and in a great location. It’s well stocked / supplied, and the courtyard is nice for an early morning / evening hang-out. If you haven’t stayed in a traditional-style house before, it’s a great opportunity to do so. Eleni is lovely and was really helpful - we had an issue with the wifi & she was in touch to fix it right away. Kavousi is a great place to stay in its own right, or to base yourself if you’re adventuring around east Crete.

The house is very quiet in a village where there is no mass tourism (early June), but the beach is small. The people in the restaurants and shops are very friendly and the food here (we tried three restaurants) was very good everywhere. Michalis described the way to the house very well. Everything was well maintained and Michalis had provided us with a sweet delicacy and water for the reception. We would book the accommodation again immediately.

The Rustic Nook was such a lovely, unique place to stay. It felt like you were tucked away in a quaint cottage in the shire. Beyond the physical attractiveness of the home, Amanda was always just a text away. I felt that if an emergency were to arise, she would’ve been there in a moment’s notice. When it came to the Rustic Nook, she thought of everything and had a note or explanation available. We loved our stay and if we ever get the chance to come back to Crete, we hope to be able to stay at the Rustic Nook again!

What a find this place was. Beautifully restored traditional house in an amazingly beautiful village in the hills above the Pefki Gorge. The house is well provisioned and very tastefully decorated. Great ventilation and insect screens on the windows. We were there for a week and the temps were very hot, but we didn't need to use the AC at all. Wonderful local taverna - we went three times. Don't miss the Sunday night music and traditional dancing. Fanis the owner is very friendly and absolutely hilarious. A great local kafeneio - don't ask for a menu, just ask what's for lunch. Great views to the Libyan Sea - it is just 10 minutes down to Makry Gialo. Search around and you will find quiet beaches without rows of sunbeds if that's not your thing. A great base to explore East Crete, there are awesome mountain roads with cute villages and amazing views. Elina gave us great recommendations for restaurants and was very helpful. We loved this place. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

We had a very nice week in the apartment with our children of 4 and 6 years old. The apartment was as shown in the photos of the advertisement! Clean, tidy, spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 children. Balcony on the small side with four people, but that did not bother us. We had regular contact with Magdalena, she always responded very helpfully and extremely quickly (within 5 minutes). That was very pleasant! She also arranged a taxi from the airport to the apartment and back for us at the end of the week. There is plenty to do for the children in the area, all within walking distance: the small swimming pool, beach/boulevard, CretAquarium, Dinosaur park. I would definitely recommend the apartment! Furthermore, we found the area to be a bit outdated (although there is a lot of new construction coming!) and not very lively. We were out of the holiday season.

My husband and I spent a lovely week at Asteri Home. The house was exactly as expected and just what we wanted for our week in Crete. The kitchen was well-equipped and allowed us to make breakfasts and a some dinners at home. The main double bedroom was big enough and comfortable. The bathroom is a bit dark and the shower is quite small, but we made do. The most amazing part of the house is the huge garden overlooking the sea that has 4 sun loungers, 2 outdoor tables for dining, a BBQ and a dart board. We spent a lot of time sitting at the end of the garden enjoying the view. Véronique and Yiannis are amazing hosts. They were so helpful right from the start - arranging transport from the airport, a rental car, offering suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. Kokkini Hani is quieter than other more touristy parts of Crete we visited. We found wonderful Greek restaurants with fresh seafood everyday. The supermarket and shops are all in walking distance. A lovely place!

A wonderful apartment with a beautiful view over the olive trees to the water. We felt very comfortable there. It couldn't have been better for us. And since we have been going to Keratokambos for many years, we will certainly come back. Everything was picobello and extremely cozy. Thank you

Very beautiful, large traditional Greek house. And an extraordinary garden with breathtaking views. With small hammock rest areas, sun loungers. Beautiful outdoor dining area. And a very warm and attentive family welcome.

Lovely retreat. If you're looking for a beautiful, private, peaceful stay this is it. The simplicity of walking to a quiet beach (with no waves, great for families), eating outside at the tables, drinking espresso, and exploring the nearby quaint towns was perfection. The family's recommendations for food were fantastic. Eat at all the places, especially the closeby Taverna Steki for a casual, delicious meal. Keep the interior door between the rooms open with fans in the doorway to cool the kitchen side that doesn't have AC. make sure you understand where to park and walk if you're arriving late (as we did). Irene was so sweet with our boys. Mike was extremely responsive and helpful.

Maria, Thank you for a wonderful stay! I didn’t think it was possible but the apartment was even more beautifully than the photos. It was such a treat getting to enjoy our morning coffee on the balcony and look out into the valley. Everything was perfect for our stay and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Had a 2 week stay at Villa Heliopetra. The villa was absolutely beautiful, very private with amazing views. Within easy walk to a couple of good tavernas (about 10 min but there is a steep driveway back up to the villa) and an easy and scenic walk along the seafront (about 20min) to Elounda which has lots of options for tavernas, bars and shops. The villa had efficient air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen and a cosy area with the option of a real fire in an impressive fireplace. We paid to have the large hot tub heated in the first week as the weather was unusually chilly, but used it unheated to cool down when the temperatures rose. We found it to be a great addition. The outstanding feature was the fabulous view of the bay from Spinalonga island round to Elounda, absolutely breathtaking! We had a problem with slow Wifi during our stay but Giorgos sorted it very quickly. He was a brilliant host and very responsive to any questions. We would love to come back to stay again soon.

We had an incredible holiday in Plaka. The villa is tastefully decorated and equipped for a relaxing holiday, but the best part was the views and the attention we received from Tina, Aspa, and Angelis, who were always friendly and willing to help us enjoy our stay.

The villa was fabulous with amazing sea and mountain views and so much more space (bigger than we expected). Very quiet which was what we wanted and so you need a car. Lovely beaches and tavernas not too far away. Host and house keeper were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

We had an amazing week - we really enjoyed the house and its amenities and the beach is just across the street, so it’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy. If you like to run, there’s a long beach just a few mins away. Hosts were great, very responsive and super helpful. 100% recommend, would definitely come back.

We loved this property! Great design and very cosy vibe. The pool was lovely - perfect size. Most importantly, the beds, pillows, bed linen were top notch comfort (always a plus for us) and, the AC worked EXACTLY how AC should work. Quiet and cool! We had the best 4 nights sleep on our stay. We would have no hesitation in staying again. The Villas feel very upscale and private even though it’s basically less than 8 mins to the city hustle and bustle. Kostas and Dimitris were very responsive with all questions and requests. Super professional! Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Anantia Villa. The property is beautiful and maintained to perfection. There is absolutely everything you could possibly need throughout the Villa, all the way down to herbs and spices in the kitchen and liquid tabs for the washing machine and dishwasher. It is clear that every aspect of a comfortable and luxurious stay has been thought about. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful. There are shops and tavernas close by with everything you may need. What made this stay such an incredible experience however was the host. Manos is fantastic. Extremely responsive, kind and helpful. Manos met us at the property, after checking our flight times with us to ensure he was present when we arrived. He maintained helpful contact throughout and responded immediately to any questions. Absolutely outstanding host. Thank you Manos. We would advise renting a car to effectively explore this part of Crete. The property has its own car parking space too.
