Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Ierapetra

We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

Elpida, ein Traumhaus, in jedem Fall empfehlenswert. Sensationell sind nicht nur die Lage und der Ausblick sondern auch das Haus selbst. Wir (Ehepaar 63/61) durften im Mai 2025 Angelikas unaufdringliche und herzliche Gastfreundschaft genießen und hatten eine erholsame Woche im bzw. oberhalb des schönen Örtchens Mochlos. Wir haben rein gar nichts zu beanstanden, im Gegenteil - wir haben selten eine so tolle Unterkunft gefunden. Perfekte Einrichtung und sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, immer ein schattiges Plätzchen und sehr angenehmer Insektenschutz. Die steile Auffahrt auf den Berg ist nach der ersten Übung auch kein Problem. Der Duft der Pflanzen ist einfach wunderbar. Liebe Angelika, danke dass du Elpida mit Fremden teilst, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder zu dir und Koko und freuen uns schon jetzt darauf, herzliche Grüße, Anne Dietz und Stefan Schmädeke aus Hannover

Lovely place to stay and well set up - we had a very comfortable couple of days Fabulous to be welcomed with fresh produce most of which was home grown in the fridge and a bottle of wine as well as oils and vinegar and tea and coffee Would definitely stay there again

Wir hatten einen traumhaften Aufenthalt in Lefteris Haus – eins der schönsten, in denen ich je Urlaub gemacht habe. Für zwei Personen ist das Haus und die Terrassen großzügig, das Haus ist sehr sehr gut ausgestattet, sehr schön, neu und gemütlich. Es gibt einen direkten Strandzugang und viele weitere, schöne Strände in der Nähe. Der Ort ist mega süß, einfach eine tolle Location für einen ruhigen Aufenthalt. Wir kommen gern wieder, es war ganz ganz toll :-)!

Das Haus ist sehr ruhig in einem Dorf in dem man ( Anfang Juni) kein Massentourismus hat, der Strand ist allerdings klein. Die Leute in den Restaurants und Geschäften sind sehr freundlich und das Essen hier (wir haben drei Restaurants ausprobiert) war überall sehr gut. Michalis hat uns den Weg zum Haus sehr gut beschrieben. Es war alles gepflegt und Michalis hatte uns für den Empfang eine süße Köstlichkeit und Wasser bereitgestellt. Wir würden die Unterkunft sofort wieder buchen.

Wir waren 6 Tage in Amandas schönem Haus. Alles war blitzsauber. Die Küche groß, mit allem was man braucht. Wir haben das Haus nicht gleich gefunden, es liegt etwas versteckt. Amanda kam gleich und hat uns dort hingebracht. Die obere Terrasse ist groß und sehr gemütlich für das Frühstück und abends zum Ausklingen des Tages. 2 Tavernen sind zu Fuß schnell erreichbar. Man kann dort gut und supergünstig essen. Was uns besonders an Limnes gefallen hat, waren die Bewohner. Sie waren alle superfreundlich und total hilfsbereit. Wir waren mit unserem kleinen Hund dort. Leider sind Hunde im Norden Kretas an den Stränden (z.B Elounda) nicht erwünscht. Deshalb werden wir weiterhin wieder in den Süden gehen, wo wir seit 20 Jahren unsere Urlaube verbringen. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Le logement est spacieux et très confortable dans un environnement paisible et une belle vue mer depuis les deux grandes terrasses. La plage a proximité, accessible à pied, est à taille humaine. Les transats sont gratuits si vous prenez une consommation au bar. La mer est calme et la baignade très sûre. Le logement dispose d'un vaste parking pour se garer. Si vous allez à la plage en voiture le stationnement ne pose pas de problème. Point de départ idéal pour visiter l'ouest de la Crête, beaucoup de sites à voir entre une demi-heure et deux heures de voiture. Nous recommandons fortement cette location.

What a find this place was. Beautifully restored traditional house in an amazingly beautiful village in the hills above the Pefki Gorge. The house is well provisioned and very tastefully decorated. Great ventilation and insect screens on the windows. We were there for a week and the temps were very hot, but we didn't need to use the AC at all. Wonderful local taverna - we went three times. Don't miss the Sunday night music and traditional dancing. Fanis the owner is very friendly and absolutely hilarious. A great local kafeneio - don't ask for a menu, just ask what's for lunch. Great views to the Libyan Sea - it is just 10 minutes down to Makry Gialo. Search around and you will find quiet beaches without rows of sunbeds if that's not your thing. A great base to explore East Crete, there are awesome mountain roads with cute villages and amazing views. Elina gave us great recommendations for restaurants and was very helpful. We loved this place. Would give it 6 stars if I could.

Wij hebben een hele fijne week gehad in het appartement met onze kinderen van 4 en 6 jaar oud. Het appartement was zoals op de foto's van de advertentie getoond! Schoon, netjes, ruim genoeg voor 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen. Balkon wel aan de kleine kant met z'n viertjes, maar daar hadden we geen hinder van. Wij hadden met regelmaat contact met Magdalena, zij reageerde steeds heel behulpzaam en enorm snel (binnen 5 min). Dat was heel prettig! Ze had ook een taxi vanaf het vliegveld naar het appartement en aan het eind van de week weer terug voor ons geregeld. Voor de kinderen genoeg te doen hier in de buurt, alles op loopafstand: het kleine zwembad, strand/boulevard, CretAquarium, Dinosaurus park. Ik zou het appartement zeker aanraden! Verder vonden wij de omgeving wel wat verouderd (alhoewel er wel veel nieuwbouw aankomt!) en niet heel levendig. Wij waren buiten het vakantie seizoen om.

Ein wunderbares Appartement mit einem schönen Blick über die Olivenbäume zum Wasser. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Für uns hätte es nicht besser sein können. Und da wir schon sehr viele Jahre nach Keratokambos fahren, werden wir sicherlich wieder kommen. Alles war picobello und ausgesprochen gemütlich. Vielen Dank

Dieses Appartement hat eine bezaubernde Lage zu Agios Nicolaos. So einen Ausblick am Morgen zum Frühstück und am Abend mit einem Wein, der dir von deinem sehr freundlichem Gastgeber als Geschenk beschert wurde, von der atemberaubenden Terasse zu genießen, war für uns ein großes Geschenk. Wir sind schon in vielen Airbnb Appartements zu Gast gewesen, doch Eirinis Wohnung war für uns etwas Besonderes. Die absolute Sauberkeit und die sehr gut ausgestattete Küche hat uns beeindruckt. Da wir auch gerne selber Speisen zubereiten, war es schön zu sehen, dass hierfür fast alles zur Verfügung stand. Schon beim ersten schriftlichen Kontakt und der herzlichen, persönlichen Übergabe der Wohnung erlebten wir die griechiche Gastfreundschaft und wußten auch das Begrüßungspaket in Form von Obst, Wein und diversen anderen netten Dingen sehr zu schätzen. Wir bedanken uns für eine wunderbare Zeit und werden bei unserem nächsten Kreta-Besuch bestimmt wiederkommen.

Très belle grande maison traditionnelle grecque. Et un jardin extraordinaire avec une vue époustouflante. Avec des petits coins repos hamacs , chaises longues. Splendide salle à manger extérieur. Et un accueil familiale très chaleureux et attentionné

The apartment was ideally located, very close to the beach and restaurants, but we were not disturbed by any noise whatsoever. Plenty of space for a couple and a small child. The outdoor terrace has a good view of the sea. Magdalena was the perfect host, arranging transport to and from the airport and quickly responded to any questions we had. We basically had a very good time and will hopefully return in the future.

This place is simply incredible. We stayed in the top unit for a 1 week vacation and absolutely loved it. The view of the ocean from the balcony was vast and breath taking, so much stillness peace and beauty. The space was perfectly clean, new, modern and beautifully decorated with kitchen equipped with everything you need. The pool area and the pool itself was amazing, incredible view, and the house is just 5 min walking from the beach. The best part was the hosts. Giorgios the owner was super responsive and accommodating with a very late check in, it felt like family. He was even fully there for us in a time of crisis when our car broke down at a remote beach. His parents Maria and Christos are also so incredibly sweet and treated us like part of the family, offering to make us food and were fully available to us the whole time. We highly highly recommend this place, it's a hidden Gem if your looking for quiet, peace, stillness and simultaneously luxury !

Lovely retreat. If you're looking for a beautiful, private, peaceful stay this is it. The simplicity of walking to a quiet beach (with no waves, great for families), eating outside at the tables, drinking espresso, and exploring the nearby quaint towns was perfection. The family's recommendations for food were fantastic. Eat at all the places, especially the closeby Taverna Steki for a casual, delicious meal. Keep the interior door between the rooms open with fans in the doorway to cool the kitchen side that doesn't have AC. make sure you understand where to park and walk if you're arriving late (as we did). Irene was so sweet with our boys. Mike was extremely responsive and helpful.

Maria, Thank you for a wonderful stay! I didn’t think it was possible but the apartment was even more beautifully than the photos. It was such a treat getting to enjoy our morning coffee on the balcony and look out into the valley. Everything was perfect for our stay and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Had a 2 week stay at Villa Heliopetra. The villa was absolutely beautiful, very private with amazing views. Within easy walk to a couple of good tavernas (about 10 min but there is a steep driveway back up to the villa) and an easy and scenic walk along the seafront (about 20min) to Elounda which has lots of options for tavernas, bars and shops. The villa had efficient air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen and a cosy area with the option of a real fire in an impressive fireplace. We paid to have the large hot tub heated in the first week as the weather was unusually chilly, but used it unheated to cool down when the temperatures rose. We found it to be a great addition. The outstanding feature was the fabulous view of the bay from Spinalonga island round to Elounda, absolutely breathtaking! We had a problem with slow Wifi during our stay but Giorgos sorted it very quickly. He was a brilliant host and very responsive to any questions. We would love to come back to stay again soon.

Es war eine super Unterkunft, wir fühlten uns rund um wohl, super essen in der Taverne vor der Haustür Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Wanderung und Relaxen Wir können uns bei den Gastgeber nur Bedanken für den angenehmen Aufenthalt

Es gibt Aussichten, die mehr sagen als tausend Gespräche – und diese hier spricht in stiller Poesie. Vom Haus aus breitet sich die Küstenlinie aus wie ein gemalter Gedanke, mit kleinen Eilanden, die im Licht treiben wie Träume im Halbschlaf. Morgens liegt die See da wie ein Spiegel der Ruhe, abends glitzert sie, als hätte jemand Sterne darin versenkt. Das Haus selbst ist ein stiller Diener: modern, zweckmäßig, geschmackvoll – ein Ort, an dem alles da ist, wo es hingehört. Man lebt hier nicht gegen die Zeit, sondern mit ihr. Wer je dort stand und schwieg, weiß: Das war genug.

Voor de tweede keer verbleven in Villa Atalandia, en het was opnieuw een droomvakantie. Vanaf het hartelijke welkom door Faidra, die ons een rondleiding gaf en een prachtig welkomstgeschenk aanbood, voelden we ons meteen thuis. We vierden iets speciaals en werden verrast met een extra attentie, wat de ervaring nóg persoonlijker maakte. De villa straalt oog voor detail uit, met stijlvolle schilderijen, bedlinnen en handdoeken met logo. De BBQ onder de sterrenhemel was romantisch, en de zwembaden waren heerlijk schoon en goed onderhouden. De villa draait op zonnepanelen en heeft een eigen waterzuiveringsinstallatie, wat bijdraagt aan het veilige en milieuvriendelijke gevoel. De uitgebreide map met tips voor uitstapjes en restaurants was erg handig, en de boottocht naar Koufonisi was perfect georganiseerd. Een ideale plek voor een rustige gezinsvakantie met prachtige uitzichten, romantische restaurants en een adembenemende route van de luchthaven naar de villa.

Sehr schönes Haus im Olivenhain, private Lage, exzellente Küchen- Ausstattung, gutes WLAN, sehr freundliche Kommunikation. Die Duschkabine im Haus ist nur für sehr dünne Menschen geeignet, alternativ steht aber eine Gartendusche zur Verfügung 👍 Besonders können wir die Bäckerei im Dorf empfehlen. Es gibt so viele schöne und einsame Badebuchten in der Gegend. Es waren sehr erholsame Tage.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an amazing week - we really enjoyed the house and its amenities and the beach is just across the street, so it’s a great place to disconnect and enjoy. If you like to run, there’s a long beach just a few mins away. Hosts were great, very responsive and super helpful. 100% recommend, would definitely come back.

Wir haben uns von Beginn an sehr wohl in der Villa von Konstantinos gefühlt. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und auch sonst war alles tiptop, so dass wir Konstantinos nicht einmal kontaktieren mussten. Ankunft, Schlüsselübergabe etc. verlief vollkommen problemlos. Die Unterkunft liegt am Rande des kleinen Dorfes Anatoli, wo es sehr ruhig ist und man viel Privatsphäre hat. Es gibt es 2 kleine Tavernen im Dorf, die einen Besuch wert sind. Hier ist man noch abseits vom großen Tourismus. Wer hier herkommt sollte auf jeden Fall tierfreundlich sein. Um die Villa herum gibt es einige Straßenkatzen, die dankbar sind, wenn man sich ihrer annimmt. Jedoch muss man sich vorher gut überlegen, ob man die Katzen füttert. Wir haben unsere Zeit dort sehr genossen und können uns vorstellen wieder hier her zu kommen.

We loved this property! Great design and very cosy vibe. The pool was lovely - perfect size. Most importantly, the beds, pillows, bed linen were top notch comfort (always a plus for us) and, the AC worked EXACTLY how AC should work. Quiet and cool! We had the best 4 nights sleep on our stay. We would have no hesitation in staying again. The Villas feel very upscale and private even though it’s basically less than 8 mins to the city hustle and bustle. Kostas and Dimitris were very responsive with all questions and requests. Super professional! Highly recommend.
