City of Wehlen Markthaus - Vacation rental - Apartment

The Markthaus is a historic gem and is a listed building, designated as the first hostel in Saxon Switzerland. The house frames the market square in the reflection of the market church below the castle ruin on the romantic Malerweg. The vaulted cellar and foundation walls date back to 1527. The main house was built in 1734 and operated as a rest stop, post office and inn. In 1850, a massive extension was built in the classicist style. Röhringer ran the Hotel Sächsische Schweiz here.

It consists of two bedrooms, one of which is a connecting room, a bathroom with shower and bathtub, a kitchen, a living room and a balcony. A public playground for children is available directly behind the house. Use of the garden directly behind the house is also possible. On request, another room outside the apartment is available. It is a cozy 2-room apartment in Kamenz in the district of Jesau which was completely renovated in 2023. The apartment has a 180cm wide box spring bed, a large TV, Wi-Fi, couch (extendable to a sofa bed), several wardrobes, a kitchen, toilet incl. shower and a large balcony. The apartment is located directly at the Kamenzer Forst and therefore in a quiet location. There is also a free parking space directly in front of the apartment.

The cozily furnished apartment can be reached through a spacious staircase. An anteroom offers the possibility of storing street clothes and shoes. In the entrance area of the house is a terrace for sitting outdoors. The view is towards pasture and meadow. Barbecuing can be done on solid ground (observe the forest fire warning level) or sports can be played on the adjacent meadow. The quiet atmosphere allows a lot of relaxation.
