[Kyomachiya Rental] 115-year-old Kyomachiya · Takasegawa Shichijo

The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old traditional Kyoto townhouse. The traditional Kyoto townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been redesigned as a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation, while retaining its original structure, so that you can enjoy a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed to resemble a "roji" (*a garden leading to a tea room). There is also a sofa in the hallway where you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time watching the illuminated tsubo garden. There are two bedrooms on the second floor: a Japanese-style room with two single beds and a Western-style room with two single beds. If there are 5 or more guests, we ask that you use the Japanese-style room on the first floor as a bedroom by laying out futons, though this may be a bit inconvenient. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and tableware for simple cooking.

Part of the walls in the house were DIY remodeled with our own hands. Interior furnishings and decorations are also carefully selected and arranged by us. Antique stained glass, Noguchi-designed paper lamps, queen bed room are Simmons mattress and Muji bedding, the bedding in the tatami room is based on the opinions of previous guests, especially the thick mattress, I hope you can rest more comfortably and have a pleasant stay. Everywhere in detail, I hope that guests can feel the warmth and peace of mind in their own home, and feel the atmosphere of Kyoto's unique years.
