Holiday rentals with a kayak in Lanark Highlands

Very nice cottage, not waterfront but only a few steps away. Limited view, but some may prefer being a bit more secluded. Otherwise very clean and well renovated.

We had a great stay. This is an old Stone cottage with some more modern additions. it's right by the water although you can't access the river directly from the property, but there is river access just up the hill. the furniture and beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was well set up. 3 bathrooms meant that we had plenty of space. Robyn was lovely and showed us around her nearby Forest school and generally just made us feel really welcome. We enjoyed seeing her chickens on the property (she lives next door). We wished that there was a bit more outside furniture but when I mentioned this to Robyn she said she would work on that, so I expect it'll be present soon. All round this was a great stay, portable air conditioners kept the space comfortably cool, it was a peaceful location and very walkable to the main street of Perth with shops and restaurants.

The place was beautiful, well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, and offered stunning views. Emily was a thoughtful host—she had arranged firewood for the fire pit and stocked the kitchen with a great selection of coffee and other essentials. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, making our stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful and cozy getaway!

Amazing stay! Everything you needed was provided for your stay. The place was perfect and the river was a nice bonus with kayaks to enjoy a paddle. We would book again.

My family and I stayed for the May Long weekend. The place had gorgeous views, great amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. Communication with the hosts was easy, and they made us feel very welcome. The organization is evident, with a QR code leading you to a guidebook and easy info for wifi access. We loved fishing off the dock, the gorgeous fireplace in the main living room, and a stunning loft where I could work on my novel. There is a varied bookcase full of select authors from several genres. I will definitely consider coming back soon! The place is close to both Perth and Smith Falls, so there are plenty of options for day travel for those who love local shops. Be mindful that the area is woody and rural, so frequent tick checks/ mosquito repellent is a must!

Some places are just houses. Others hold space and pause. From the first moment we walked in, "The River Retreat" welcomed us like a warm hug. My siblings and I came here to honour the one-year anniversary of our mother’s passing, and it ended up being exactly what we needed. Peaceful, cozy, and full of thoughtful touches. Every room, view, and amenity gave us a chance to breathe, reflect, and spend quality family time together. We tried all the amenities, including the hot tub, canoe, kayaks, fire pit, and pool table. But our favourite pass time and location was definitely the home cooked meals around the round table overlooking the river. We left feeling full in every sense. Thank you Marlene and Morgan for being such fantastic hosts! We’ll absolutely be back.

Allison and Andrew's rental was perfect for our getaway. We did lots of fishing, saw an abundance of wildlife and were very comfortable in their home. It was easy to get to and we werent lacking anything at all with a well stocked house full of amenties and creature comforts. We hope to be back again!

Beautiful family stay! We brought two toddlers who loved hanging out on the dock, hanging out on the swing and eating on the picnic table on nice days. The DVD collection was awesome as well! No issue with hot spotting for anything else. One thing to note is the (gorgeous) glass table and winding staircase require a bit of extra supervision with young ones. Total paradise for young families or small groups :)

John’s place is excellent! It’s really well kept and thoughtfully set up for essentials and everything in between. It’s a beautiful location- the private dock by the lake was the highlight of our trip. We stayed for 3 nights and we wished we had it longer. We miss it already and would love to be back.

This is a perfect lakeside getaway! The house is comfortable, well-appointed and exactly as advertised. The landscaping and setup outside is top-tier. So many thoughtful touches inside and out. Checking in was a breeze and there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. And even better, checkout was as simple as walking out the door. No "escape room" style checklist to complete before you go. To top it all off, Alison is a pleasure to deal with. She's friendly, responsive, and all around proactive in ensuring you have a great stay. I highly recommend you book this place, you won't be disappointed.

The cottage was lovely in every way! Super clean, beautiful views, it has everything you would ever need. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but if we ever travel back to Brockville we will definitely be booking with Ziad again.

This was by far one of the best places that I have stayed. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, so unique, and the location was amazing! The views while sitting on the porch were like no other. It was the perfect weekend getaway for some much needed peace and quiet!

This was our second stay at Kim and Scott's and we loved it again. Very private and peaceful cottage, right on the water. We brought out paddleboards and paddled the entire lake. Super cute place for two people.

This place was beautiful and felt like home! There’s is not a lot of cell phone service only on wifi. The house had everything you needed, just when you thought you brought everything they already had it! Spices, pans, pots, tin foil etc. It is a very quiet area. There was a dock a few minutes away we launched our boat to go fishing as well! Will be back for sure!

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful cottage to celebrate our anniversary. We live about an hour and a half drive from this place and it was very easy to find. Although our stay was short, it was so special. The beach is shared with other cottages but it was not being used by others during our stay which was nice. There’s a few fire pits for use too on the beach with wood provided by the host which was so lovely. We didn’t swim bc it was too cold but there were also a ton of water toys to use such as kayaks and paddle boards. The cottage itself is completely private and so so so charming. The place was so clean and had a ton of amenities you really don’t have to bring anything other than your own food. My husband and I agreed we must return in the future!!!

We had a peaceful weekend gateway in this beautiful and cozy cabin. The cabin had everything we needed for our stay, it was spotless and well-equipped. Desmond was very responsive and he even allowed us a late checkout without us even asking and we were able to enjoy the surrounding a little more. We enjoyed every moment in this private and peaceful cabin into the woods and would love to come back again :)

I wish I could give 1000 stars. His little slice of heaven on the lake in the woods was amazing. He was an amazing host. We will definitely be back and we are going to bring out daughter next time.

My husband I used to be “locals” who lived not far from this fabulous property! We have been staying here for the last 10 years and it’s always better than the time before! It’s a beautiful peaceful unique property where we can enjoy the abundance of nature and the local wildlife. The cabin is authentic, cozy and just the amount of comfort and convenience. We can simply relax and enjoy ourselves here! Margret is a perfect host. She values our privacy at the same time makes sure we have everything we need and more! Still our favourite AirBnb experience!
