Contemporary Farmhouse With Amazing Views

We feel so fortunate to have spent 2 glorious nights at Halldor’s house with our 2 college-aged sons. The house design is exquisite: a perfect blend of simplicity, style, and sophistication but lacking in pretension. The house is designed with windows and glass doors looking out over the property. In every direction there are rolling fields and river views. We loved dunking in the river and racing up to the sauna. We also loved the outdoor shower. We lit a fire each night and cooked meals in the wonderful kitchen. The only downside to the house is that you never want to leave it! But we did enjoy going into town. The Settlement museum offered a very good intro to Iceland history. This was a perfect place for us to stay on our way to the West Fjords. I truly hope we come back and stay much longer next time. Thank you, Halldor, for creating such a beautiful home.

Perfect little place for a nights stop, all the amenities were great with the hot tub, kitchen and bathroom and showers. Also full of character with the troll stroll and added little extras everywhere. His books are also great and the best price, he even signed the book for my nephew!

Beautiful and quiet location. Can walk out right to the water and watch the birds. Large dining and social area. Kitchen a good size. Bathrooms were spacious and clean, but none are located on the third floor - one is on the second floor and the two larger ones with laundry machines and showers were on the first floor.

Un havre de paix et de tranquillité. Hôte accueillant mais pas envahissant. La présence du chien n’est absolument pas gênante, il est sympa et non bruyant. C’était le point de chute idéal, un peu à l’extérieur de la ville, pour faire ce que j’avais prévu (2 nuits). Absolument conforme à ce que j’attendais. Si vous cherchez la tranquillité, c’est la bonne adresse.

I stayed over at Finnbogi and Berglind’s place after exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula. It is well situated for a weekend trip from Reykjavik. The house is beautiful and the room was nice and cozy. Berglind made a lovely breakfast and her and Finnbogi had some great recommendations for the trip back to Reykjavik. They contacted me after the weekend as I had left a personal item and made sure I got it back before leaving the country. I really appreciated that and their communication throughout. I had a lovely time and can highly recommend their guesthouse.

This was incredibly convenient for its location on the golden circle, close to both Geysir and Gulfoss. We only stayed for a quick overnight, and the space served the three of us well. We never had a problem with access to the bathrooms, though perhaps they weren’t fully booked that night either.

Eine der besten Unterkünfte, die ich je hatte. Eine wunderschöne Lage zwischen Wasser und Natur. Liebevolle Hunde die einen Empfangen. Das Zimmer war schön gerichtet und war sauber. Sehr empfehlenswert :)
