Absolutely amazing. Beautiful view of the beach and surrounding area. We got lucky and saw the northern lights! The place was super cozy. Loved the extra effort the hosts put in to make sure we had everything we needed, which included a dog bed, doggy treats and board games. The Christmas tree and bottle of Prosecco were a much appreciated bonus. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.

Cantick Head is a very special Airbnb. Alan was helpful, welcoming and a great host. The cottage was amazing and had everything we needed. Well equipped, really comfortable, peaceful with the best views. We loved the hot tub and sat outside for hours watching the sea. Loads to see in the local area and Alan was really helpful in suggesting places to visit and explore. We absolutely loved it, definitely recommend.

Every year we pick a new location in Scotland to celebrate my brother's birthday, and this one was one of our favorites so far. The host left many nice touches around the house, including a bottle of Prosecco, as well as some treats for our dog. The location was perfect for us (30 minutes from the Orkney ferry, walking distance from town center, and near some beautiful locations for short walks). Would definitely book this place again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Taylor's Rest and we're so glad that we stayed for two nights. Located in a beautiful and peaceful setting not far from sight seeing in Kirkwall and nature all around. The house is so comfortable and attractively decorated, and the best shower that we had on our trip. As you step out onto the patio, there's nature and bird watching, as well as gorgeous sunsets.

Perfect stay and host for our 2 night trip to Orkney. If you want peaceful and private for a family stay, this is your place.

We loved Taigh Neonach , it was a lovely cottage - it was beautifully decorated and a well appointed kitchen with a fridge and freezer compartment 👍😃 the bed was very comfortable and our dog settled into the cottage immediately. She particularly loved running around in the garden and as it was fenced we felt that she was perfectly safe. We had very friendly communication from Scott and Kirsty of MooseHoose Holidays and we would definitely recommend them as hosts. There was nothing we needed and they also added lovely touches of dog towels, biscuits, bowls and blankets much appreciated. We liked the porridge ,fruit, butter ,cheese and milk thank you.🤩 The shower was very good and the towels were fluffy. We would love to come back again. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 36 Alfred St Anderson’s Seaside Cottage made for an interesting & enjoyable stay. The stone Bothy was a nice spot to have a cuppa & watch the harbour. We really appreciated all the kitchen/laundry supplies that you’d have at home, such as coffees, teas, cooking necessities, herbs, sauces, cooking oils, dish washing tablets & washing machine pods (plus more!) Rosemary has a good supply of information about the island & even a space with stationery bits & bobs. If you love reading Rosemary has loads of options throughout the cottage. If mobility is an issue for you, the stairs would be problematic. It was a great experience of living in a small town near the sea with narrow streets covered with slate & cobbled stones.

This was a return visit. Ceol-na-Mara is warm and comfy, we love the wood burner stove in the kitchen living area. Fire, cup of tea and a view, perfect. Ceol-na-Mara is a perfect base for discovering Sutherland and the far north. Lots of great walks with gorgeous beaches. Hopefully we will return soon.

Old hall is in a fabulous location with beautiful walks and a lovely, swimmable beach accessible from the door. the house is comfortable, fully equipped, scrupulously clean and Sandra is a very responsive host ☺️ we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. top tip: we did need to use our eye masks as the room is quite light with the early sun.

What a delightful cottage with stunning views. So peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were exceptionally helpful. We had a great time and throughly recommended this cottage. Dog friendly was a bonus too.

Anne was such a welcoming host and had provided everything needed to make us comfortable. Huge amount of information about local attractions etc. Wonderful for children as many toys and books provided for them. It's a quirky and rather old fashioned house but every modern facility is also in place. It's very homely. Quite a walk into town but just a few minutes by car.

What a beautiful location. So peaceful and right next to stunning blue sea and an inquisitive seal. The house is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It's got great walks from the door . It isn't far to the shop and is right next to the moving Longhope lifeboat museum.

Great place Lets face it, Eday is not an island you visit on a whim or by accident. Total population is about 120 people, the community shop opens just a couple of hours, most days; plus it's a 90 minute ferry from the Orkney mainland, itself a ferry or flight from Scotland. But, when you get there this place makes it all worth while. The location and views are unmatched, it's well furnished, the heating is properly effective, the kitchen is very well equipped (lots of crockery, good quality saucepans and cooker, the knives are actually sharp (an AirB&B first for us); plus having 2 fridges is genius. The broadband is amazing too (we measured 400Mb) If you want nightlife (unless you count the short eared owls you can see through the window) forget it. If you want a completely peaceful stay on a beautiful island; go for it.

Matthew is a great host, he was very responsive to any questions raised both prior and during our stay. The cottage is very spacious, well equipped, comfortable and has great views to the north and west, particularly when relaxing in the lovely warm and cozy lounge in the long evenings of spring and summer. The bed in Ruth's Room was extremely snug guaranteeing us a great night's sleep particularly having spent most of the day outdoors when exploring many of the amazing locations easily reached within an hour's drive whether it was east, west or south of there. Might be a long drive for most to get there but for any adventure seekers, lovers of nature or anyone wishing to relax or unwind for a few days or even longer I would definitely recommend this property as an ideal base to experience it from. Final comment from me, the welcome pack was exceptionally plentiful and generous, bread, butter, eggs, milk, marmalade, orange juice, 3 packs of biscuits and a bottle of 'pink fizz'!

Elizabeth's cottage in Melvich was a beautiful place to stay. Right at the northern sea, the view from the bedrooms is incredible, including actual sheep in the neighbour's yard! The location is really nice and pretty easy to get to from the typical NC500 route, just a couple of minutes detour. The kitchen has all the equipment needed to prepare a quick breakfast and some coffee, and the interior was super cozy. A quick walk down the croft at the back to arrive at the sea feels like a movie, but that's what you get! Elizabeth was super nice and helped point out some restaurants for us, and even showed us some sheep and cows at her farm! The whole stay was a really fantastic experience and an easy recommend from me (and my mum & sister).

We have had a really good time staying at The Byre, Upper Faulds. Great location - so convenient to tour Mainland with the added bonus of being far enough from Kirkwall to avoid the cruise liner crowds. Burray is beautiful, peacefull and historically interesting. Ian & Babs are wonderful hosts - welcoming, helpful, friendly & excellent company. The Byre is comfy & cosy and has everything you need. Fabulous gardens and a stunning view. What more could you want? Thanks Ian & Babs for your hospitality! Highly recommended.

Karen was a great host with nice suggestions and supportive all along. Accommodation spacious, well equipped , very clean and great location, we found it perfect!

The house was bright, and the curtains had linings to keep out the late evening light in northern climes! It had everything we needed, including teapot and cafetiere. Comfortable and clean.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice cottage and landscape around, quiet, a few activities within 30 min drive.

Had the most amazing few days in this cottage… just perfect … my mum is waiting on a knee op so she is having bf mobility issues and the cottage had touches that just made things easier. I also took my dog, sometimes it can be quite difficult around the nc500 to find a good place to let her have a wee run around before bed…. This cottage has an enclosed (not secure) dog field that was just perfect for her…. Thanks again for making our holiday so special
