Yurt holiday rentals in Mississippi River

Had an amazing experience at Twisted Twig Yurt! We stayed in February and the snowy location and quiet surroundings were perfect. We stayed warm with the wood stove and wood provided. Clean and had everything we needed and lots of small touches that showed forethought about our experience. Easy drive into Bayfield, shopping and great lunch at Many Penny. Experienced the Chequamegon Bay ice caves and Mt Ashwabay cross country skiing what a great experience with our cozy home base at the Yurt.

The walk in is about 1/2 mile, but at a steep grade - be ready. The yurt was GREAT! A wonderful wood stove, lots of wood, and an AMAZING view. Secluded and peaceful, loved it.

I had an excellent stay. Really enjoyed the experience staying here on a rainy night. The fireplace was perfect for taking off the chill and it was peaceful listening to the rain on the yurt roof while staying dry. I will certainly be back!

Really enjoyed this place. And so many fun little amenities. Glamping at its finest thanks to the hosts. Excited to book again for fall or winter - experience the yurt in all four seasons.

Susan was a great host! She responded quickly to my questions and was more than accommodating with my plans to stay in a yurt. This is the second time in my life. She greeted us when we arrived and gave an explanation about the property…. Including the history. I love that stuff. There is a barn that has WiFi and some other amenities. It’s not a long walk. The yurt is pretty much like staying in a very large tent, but nicer. It was a quick trip. I wish we could have stayed longer. I would love to go back with my family when we can. Thanks, Susan!

Great place to stay for a quiet weekend in Bayfield! Everything is as described so it was a perfect glamping situation complete with a shower and good drinking water.

If you are thinking about booking this cute AirBNB do it!! We celebrated our anniversary there and had a wonderful time. This air bnb provides you with pretty much everything you need! They even had a welcome basket with jelly and English muffins, a dozen eggs in the refrigerator and a pack of water bottles! What a welcome! It was clean and right on the lake with a beautiful view! They also provided all the extras in the kitchen, no need to buy oils, spices, dishwasher pods, paper towels or toilet paper! The beds were comfy too! Thank you Katie and Greg for sharing your slice of heaven with us!

We really enjoyed our stay for my husbands birthday! He said all he wanted was peace and quiet and a hot tub and that’s exactly what we got! AND wonderful massage therapists that come to you! Was one of the best massages we’ve ever had!! Will absolutely be coming back here!

I had a fantastic stay! The yurt was amazing and having an outdoor space to enjoy was nice as well. The communication from Gina was great, very responsive. The directions to the site were accurate and was helpful on how the roads were laid out making finding it even easier. Gina provided quite a few suggestions on what to do and places to visit. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to do so again in the future. Thank you Gina on a relaxing stay!

Such an amazing place for a last minute getaway. Quiet and peaceful, especially at night laying on the deck watching the stars. We will definitely be back.

This was a birthday gift to my partner and it was one of the best stays we’ve had together. Even with two households close by, it was still very quiet and peaceful. Honestly more quiet than some campsites we’ve stayed at. The place was so clean and neatly organized and had so many amenities for a small place. Host was kind and quick to respond to my questions which I appreciated. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will be booking another stay sometime!

Unique & peaceful place to stay that feels like you’re camping, but easy to get into town for food or the store. Also big fan of the friendly dogs who live on the property!!

Katherine was always available and answered all our questions quickly. The location was private yet still close enough to grab a few things from the local Walmart. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful getaway that was still close enough to make it to our kids’ ball games in Athens, and this place was exactly what we needed. From fishing on the property to exploring the beautiful grounds, we felt like we were worlds away from the chaos of Houston. The home was spotless, cozy, and perfectly tucked away to enjoy nature, yet just 15 minutes from great restaurants and anything we needed. Nathan was incredibly responsive, even with our late check-in. We’ll absolutely be back—and if you’re looking for a quiet escape that still keeps you connected, this is the spot. Can’t recommend it enough.

Danna' yurt was an absolute dream! Close to many restaurants, hiking spots, and beautiful views, while still feeling private and secluded. The yurt was thoughtfully decorated and delightfully cozy. Will definitely be my new go-to spot anytime I'm in the Northwoods. Truly such a gem.

We stayed at John’s place. The AC worked well. We enjoyed the simple tranquility of being out in nature. It was quiet and we used the fire pit, got to see the stars. Looked like the pictures, had the campy outdoor vibe.

We all enjoyed our stay at the Geneseo Campground and in the yurt. The campground hosts were friendly and helpful. The yurt was a lovely change from tent camping.

Great host. Yurt exactly as stated. Clean. Nice. Good amenities. Great for paddling down river to yurt.
