Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-cho, a town blessed with forests, lakes and snow in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, with a wealth of natural areas such as Kurohime Kogen, Lake Nojiri and Togakushi nearby. You can freely use the comfortable building renovated with natural materials such as cedar, cypress, and plaster, the natural garden that creates seasonal scenery, and the forest where the stream flows.In the forest that we have been maintaining, you can see birds, squirrels, and marten, and you can enjoy strolling around looking for wild vegetables and mushrooms, as well as swings and hammocks. We also paid close attention to the interior design and kitchen utensils to make sure you can enjoy "living" in the space. At the gazebo by the stream, you can enjoy BBQ and campfires without worrying about the weather. It is ideal as a base for hiking, fishing, paddle boarding, and golf during the green season, and as a base for winter sports during the snow season. It is a quiet, small, cozy guest house. The deck is spacious enough for about 6 people to have a barbecue, etc. Please note that it may feel a little cramped for 4 adults. Since it is a mountain forest, there are insects, but we carefully control insects in the guest house. Please understand if they enter during your stay. If you are not good with insects, etc., I think you will have a little resistance, so please book with that in mind. In winter, it gets below freezing around here. Please note that the heating facilities in this guest house are mainly kerosene stoves and kerosene fan heaters. We also have electric appliances, but if you use too much, the safety device will work (smart meter) and the electricity in the house will flash, so please do not use a lot of electric appliances at once. An earth leakage meter is also installed. If the electricity flashes, please reduce the use of electricity.(Also, please contact us about rural living experiences, etc. We do our best to disinfect and clean after guests leave to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Please disinfect yourself with the virus removal spray at the entrance before entering the room.

A 1000 square meter private villa with 7 spaces. The entire "Rock Forest" has seven main concepts. We offer each "way of spending time". After procuring fresh ingredients locally, move to the Rock Forest, park your car in the parking lot, and go up the stairs to bring the ingredients to the hearth space. You won't see any other people. It is 60 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Karuizawa, and 30 minutes by car from Karuizawa Station, so you can work in the morning and take a half-day off in the afternoon, for example. Surrounded by nature, you can relax and enjoy an extraordinary time. < Winter season November-March > The outdoor bath is closed during the winter months.

It is less than 5 minutes walk (or 1 min drive) to some cafes and restaurants and the new Nagano Forest Village. There, you can buy local produce, craft beers & wine, and walk around the beautiful area. We recommend driving to explore more around the highlands and snow tires (or chains) are a must have during winter. We are 1080m above sea level, its cool in summer!

The Guest House Japan Asama was produced by the team used to work for a well known airline marketing team. The main concepts of the stay are "nature", "specious" and "hospitality". Guests can enjoy natural private onsens in the large size villa located in the national park. The private villa has 2 floors and each floor has over 120 square meters. The highlights of the villa are stone bath at inside of the villa and cypress bath at outside. Enjoy our natural onsen at both inside and outside!
