MOST AMAZING CABIN!! Can't possibly say enough about how fantastic the hosts and property are. We would have been happy spending our entire vacation here. So close to the parks and "Mount Doom" and other LOTR locations -- the entire back side of the cabin is a view of "Mt Doom" and there's a LOTR Risk game!! Pool table was so fun to use. Bed was super comfy. Used the washer/dryer (laundry detergent, no dryer sheets) and dishwasher, bathrooms (remember to bring your own toiletries), kitchen -- all very well stocked with cooking utensils and basics (salt pepper oil - I think there was sugar/flour too?). There's plunger coffee maker. Appreciated the OJ and crumpets and scrumptious home made raspberry preserves. Hot tub on the back deck fantastic too. Deb and Dave so friendly and flexible with our schedule. You won't believe how private and secluded the cabin feels - perched up on top of the hill. We really hope to stay here again one day - LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!! BEST HOSTS!

Check-in was super smooth and the place was all set up for us when we arrived. The cabin was cosy, clean, and had everything we needed, really well set up. The hot pool was a definite highlight, perfect for a soak at the end of the day. 😍❤️ Such a peaceful spot to relax. Would totally come back 🥰🥰🥰

We loved our stay in the cabin. We climbed Mt Te Aroha so the sauna was very welcome. The cabin was also gorgeously cosy, perfect.

Would definitely recommend Craig and Ri’s place if you are looking at seafront properties to stay for a night! The house had a small kitchen great for light cooking, a separate bedroom with plush bed and bathroom with shower amenities as well as a functioning heater to keep us warm! The living room has another heater as well and sofas are comfortable too. The walk to the hot tub shack was short (probably less than 30 seconds) and it is kept constant at 38 deg c, which is great during this chilly period! Overall, would recommend Craig and Ri’s place for anyone coming by to stay and looking to stroll along the beach.

This is an incredible Airbnb. If you are looking for somewhere to base yourself so you can sample some of the most breathtaking landscapes, nature and biodiversity in the world, this is it. The views from the deck alone are mind-blowing - rugged, snow capped mountains all around; at night there is so little light pollution that you can see the Milky Way!! Dan's home is stylish, tasteful, very comfortable, warm, super clean and exactly as the photos show. It has all modern conveniences - fast internet and wifi , full kitchen with a big island and large fridge, indoor and outdoor wood fireplaces, outdoor spa, a huge shower with a rainfall shower head, and floor to ceiling windows throughout. The bedrooms have blockout blinds for complete darkness when you want it. I spent two weeks here and had an amazing time exploring the Otago region, hiking, sight seeing, reading and relaxing and Dan's Airbnb was a huge part of this. Dan is very friendly and extremely easy to communicate with.

We had the most wonderful relaxing stay here at Mick’s, it was serene and private with beautiful views of the hills and bush. The hot tub was to die for and I have had so many people asking me where this beautiful kitchen was! Lovely lovely stay, will definitely be back and a few of my friends are already planning to stay here hehe

What an Amazing place, was only there for a nights sleep but boy was it cosy and had more than expected essentials. Place was easy to find and there is such a beautiful view of the harbour with all the sail boats Had quick response from the host as well Would go there again for a longer visit.

We have no hesitation recommending Lucretia's place. A stunning location above the cliff, beautiful walks on your doorstep, a great little pub just a stones throw away and a visit to the seal colony is a must. The accommodation is very well set up with a great little kitchen, clean bathroom, a comfy bed and a deck to enjoy your morning coffee with a view to die for.

Beautiful cabin with stunning views of Mt Ruapehu. This cabin is absolutely gorgeous with special features throughout. A very well appointed kitchen and stunning bathroom complete the cabin. There is a lovely outside bath in which to star gaze! Will come back when I can stay longer - just lovely!

Second time staying in this wonderfully tranquil studio. The beautiful vistas and birdsong to listen to, made for a thoroughly relaxing couple of days. The studio itself has everything you need, although the kitchen space isn't big and requires a bit of organization to work in.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Ecobach. On rainy days, I loved listening to music from the soundbar, preparing meals, and admiring the scenery outside—the rain, fog, and drifting clouds created such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I also really appreciated the thoughtful layout of the Bach, its solid structure, and the beautiful patterns on the ceiling.

Wir haben vier Nächte in Belindas Cottage verbracht. Die Unterkunft liegt idyllisch, umgeben von wunderschöner Natur. Sie ist gemütlich eingerichtet und bietet alles, was man für einen erholsamen Aufenthalt benötigt. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse ist unglaublich schön. Ein Ort, um zu entspannen und sich wohl zu fühlen. Belinda ist eine warmherzige, offene Gastgeberin. Sie hat uns herzlich empfangen und stand jederzeit bei Fragen und Anliegen zur Verfügung. Außerdem hat sie uns hilfreiche Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben. Wir empfehlen Belindas Cottage auf jeden Fall weiter!

A gorgeous retreat. Loved this stay and everything was beautifully clean and just perfect.

We had a lovely stay at Jessica’s home! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The little touches around the house really made it feel welcoming, and we appreciated how well-equipped everything was. Location was convenient and peaceful perfect for a relaxing getaway. Jessica was a great host, responsive and thoughtful throughout. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

We stayed at Brian’s cabin for two nights, and it was everything we could have dreamed of — and more. Tucked into the landscape like something out of a storybook, the cabin itself was already perfect… but then came the snow. A beautiful snowfall turned our stay into something truly magical, and being snowed in for two days only added to the joy. Brian has thought of absolutely everything. From the cozy fire already crackling when we arrived, to small touches like tin foil already laid out in the oven tray — the attention to detail is next-level. The space is so well set up for families, and we felt completely cared for from the moment we walked in. We made so many memories here. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

Christine’s place is amazingly beautiful. Made of huge wooden logs, which were pretty much hurricane proof. Really large upper master bedroom. Pristine bathroom with heated floors. Lots of ammenities in the kitchen, and cosy and warm when we walked inside, what more could you ask for…well actually we wish it snowed when we were there because I’m sure it would have looked amazing, but that’s not the owners fault 😂 There’s a four square grocery store not too far away and restaurants and many gorgeous lakes. Great location and away from the hustle and bustle of big towns. Highly recommended.

Great place for a peaceful getaway. Private and beautiful country side scenery. Host very polite and made sure we got whatever we needed. Would stay again and recommend this place for any couple wanting a quiet and peaceful weekend away.

This is a beautiful property, with a unique layout and wonderfully thoughtful details. It's clean, warm and even on a rainy day a real experience. As noted by others, you can hear traffic on the nearby road but it's a small process to pay!
