The main ranch house, well over 100 years old, is home to the Newell family and Newell Cattle. It is winter pasture and spring calving grounds for the cattle. The home site was originally settled by Bartolome Trujillo in the 1734. Pottery shards found in the pastures indicate that this site was a Native American settlement.

We live in an 1890 adobe home that shares the property with the casita. We have a handful of fruit trees, a hoop house where we are growing vegetables, and a wild 1 acre field.
