Kirkbride Hall

JoeRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a fantastic stay at Kirkbride Hall. The house was beautifully kept, spacious, and impressively well-equipped—from a generous welcome hamper to logs for the fire and charcoal for the BBQ. The 2-in-1 pool/dining table was a real hit and kept us entertained every evening. The large garden and peaceful setting were perfect for our group, and our dogs loved the space—as well as the thoughtful treats left for them. The house was spotless on arrival, and the detailed local info packs helped us plan each day with ease. Christine made the whole booking process smooth and stress-free, especially impressive with six dogs! She was welcoming, responsive, and made us feel completely at home. Every detail was clearly considered, and it’s clear the Rowley Estates team takes great pride in their properties. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kirkbride Hall and look forward to booking another Rowley Estates stay soon. Thank you for a memorable break!

Cosy B&B in picturesque Eden Valley - Room2

KathyRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Although we only stayed a night to break a long journey from Scotland to the south of the UK, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Patricia and Alan. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and told everything we needed to know about staying with them. The room was very comfortable and we were able to use a separate guest lounge to eat our supper in the evening. Breakfast was fantastic and the best we'd had whilst being away on our week's holiday! The location is about 15 mins or so from the A66 and is very quiet. We will definitely return as the location is perfect for travelling to and from Scotland. Highly recommend staying with Patricia and Alan.

Great stay at Andrew’s place, comfy, and exactly as listed. Andrew was friendly and helpful, even told us about a local street festival (we couldn’t go, but appreciated the tip!). Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Lancaster.

We had a wonderful stay! Communication was great from the start, and the home itself is absolutely beautiful, cosy, warm, and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel really special. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower was excellent too. Sarah, her husband, and Joey were so lovely and welcoming, and their gorgeous dog made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this stay, would love to come back!

EllieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A lovely, cosy cottage that had everything we needed and made us feel right at home. We really appreciated the helpful welcome pack and extra touches. Jontti was great communication-wise. We loved our stay and were sorry to say goodbye to the Gamekeeper's Cottage. Hopefully we'll get a chance to re-visit again.

A Home from Home in the heart of Beautiful Malham

LaurieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved staying in The Old Barn Cottage for our 4 nights/ 3 days of hiking. Lawrence was very responsive to any questions we had. Keep in mind that this is an old barn that has been converted and is still being improved. The living space was so comfortable…huge family room with new couches and dining table, full kitchen and upstairs bathroom and bedrooms. An awesome space to share. The location is unbeatable. You can easily walk from here to Malham Tarn, Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss and the surrounding villages. Busses stop 1 minute down the road at the Buck Inn for easy transit north or south. People are super friendly. Both The Buck Inn and Lister Arms were great for refreshment. And the Old Barn Tearoom was right there to enjoy lunch or coffee.

The Annexe

SueRating, 5 stars1 week ago
we know the area fairly well, and our usual place wasn't available on the dates we needed. this was perfect for our stay. The fluffy towels and great shower were lovely. basic supplies provided, and a chocolate cake :-) Bed is very comfortable too, we slept extremely well The local pub was recommended, The Stag Inn, Dufton and we had already booked ahead, for our first meal. (sirloin steak and corned beef and onion pie) We had a roast in The Mason's Arms in Long Marton on Sunday evening with our friends and it was delicious. 2 years since our last meal in there and it lived up to our expectations. we would stay here again.

Green View, Kendal, South Lakes

AndrewRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This place was a cool find. While being situated in a fairly old building (in keeping with the surrounding village) it has been recently renovated and felt cosy and modern, without being garish - just right we thought. Parking is available nearby but you may need to walk a wee way, not a problem for us, and there is a short term spot right by the door to the flat to unload your stuff. We forgot to sign the guest book (oops) but enjoyed our stay, and clearly others have too. If you're travelling to the Lakes District or plan to visit nearby Windermere and Keswick, this is a great base to start from. Thank you for letting us stay!

We had a really lovely few days. Very comfortable studio with an excellent location for trips in the dales. Unfortunately, the battery went flat on the car when we were leaving. We were going to Settle on a helicopter ride, so it was a bit stressful. We had loaned our car out and then borrowed my mother in laws car (long story) I was so embarrassed, because its a shed on wheels and it was covered in massive bird poo's. I wanted the ground to swallow me up! A lovely woman passed by, and was monumentally pleasant and helpful. She went and brought her car, that was unsuccessful at first, then she went for her husband and it finally started. We were so grateful to be setting off and only realised later that she had told us her name was Leigh Anne. It was the airbnb owner. She was the most lovely and extremely helpful person. Thanks again! Louise and Mike x

We had a fantastic stay at Jacquie and David’s AirBnB! Both were incredibly personable, friendly, and welcoming! It really felt like staying with old friends. The rooms were spotless, cosy, and full of charm, and the breakfast was absolutely spot on; a perfect way to start each day. The area is stunning too, peaceful and picturesque with lots to explore nearby. Their warmth and hospitality made our visit truly memorable. Would definitely stay again!

Country Farmhouse B&B

GrahamRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Brian made this weekend escape special. He was so communicative and helpful both ahead of our stay and during. The farmhouse is an authentic Westmorland 18th Century building with many original features. Our room and bathroom were private and cosy. Breakfasts were the perfect start to the day. Tea and coffee was also available in our room. Location was superb with a short walk to the local pub, The Punchbowl, a gastro pub with award winning fayre. Brian and I shared the same birthday (day and year), so we had lots in common. The cats were a great hit, with guaranteed cuddles and no claws. In summary, a great spot for a mini break in the Lake District!

Me and a group of friends stayed here over Easter and it was the most incredible place. Anton and Penny were so helpful and lovely. The complimentary breakfast and food at the pub was so delicious and the yurt was so cosy, clean and well put together. Would definitely come back to this Airbnb. Penrith was a 15 minute drive away and the village was very picturesque. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with some very helpful hosts

Serene hamlet on the edges of Coniston Water

Giovanni AntonioRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Brenda is very friendly and hospitable. Staying at hers is almost like visiting a friend, possibly the true essence of Airbnb and old school B&Bs when people opened the doors to their home to strangers and made them feel welcome. Brenda gave me clear instructions to reach the property, and she was there to welcome me when I arrived. She attentively prepared me a tasty and filling breakfast every morning of my stay. Brenda also helped me with precious tips for local walks and exploration. The property has the charm and warmth of a old family home, it’s not pristine or spotless but very functional, comfortable and cosy. Thank you for having me! Giovanni

Howgill Cottage B&B on Hadrian’s Wall

MaryRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay with Jayne and Karl at Howgill Cottage which is in a beautiful location near Walton and on the Hadrian’s Wall route. The cottage is lovely and decorated to a high standard with lots of artistic and homely touches. The beds were super-comfortable. The evening meal was expertly prepared by Karl and was delicious. Ditto the breakfast with fresh fruit and homemade jam. The care that goes into the accommodation, the food and the whole experience was amazing. 5* Superhosts, cannot recommend highly enough. Staying at Howgill Cottage was one of our highlights of walking ‘The Wall’. Definitely ‘return-worthy’.

Lovely Lake District rural retreat

ElyseRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What a memorable stay in the Lake District, in an absolute beautiful and remote place that has so much history! Kate was a fantastic host, we loved our conversations together and hanging out by the fire in the evening. The cats and the hens brought us so much joy! Kate went above and beyond to set up breakfast with many choices - even accommodating for gluten and dairy free. The road to get there is an adventure in itself, luckily there's not much traffic and it went really well for us. We would highly recommend staying there! Note that the ground in front of the house is uneven and there are a few steps to get into the house, which can be challenging for people who have difficulties going up stairs. You might be as lucky as us and have a cat waiting for you at the top though!
