In 2004 I got the chance to design my own family's week-end house in the village Pigniu. This fabulous place at 1300 meters above sea in the Surselva Region of Graubünden province, above the Town Ilanz, was well-known to me, for my parents owned an old farmhouse until the 1980ies here. The Spiral shaped chalet has the form of a band, changing from concrete in the base to wooden shingles upwards. The house is designed to connect us to the landscape we love. You will heat with chopped wood.

Beautiful cozy and bright apartment in the Grisons mountains. Ideally suited for ski holidays as well as a good starting point for hiking excursions & bike tours or to relax in the green idyll a little from everyday stress. The chairlift (Brigels/Vuorz/Andiast) can be reached within 4 minutes by car. The Flims/Laax and Obersaxen ski resorts can also be reached in 20 minutes. Skis and sleds are rented on site. The middle room with living/dining room and kitchen is very bright with a view of Sargans Castle. The upper seating area offers great panoramic views of the castle and Gonzen. The guest apartment is ideal for 2-4 people. Large double bed, bunk bed in the upper room, sofa bed or folding bed. On request, use of hot tub, sauna and washing machine.
