Beachfront holiday rental in Scarborough State Beach

Cute, quaint and quintessential New England cottage. A perfect place to rest, relax and unwind. A very quiet, private and peaceful retreat from the craziness of everyday life. Richard was extremely responsive and helpful for the few questions I had. I did not get the chance to meet him but maybe next time, I’ll certainly be back! If you love the proximity to the hustle and bustle of summer in Narragansett but prefer to be a few short minutes in the quieter bubble of Bonnet Shores, this is your place. 7am walks to the beach and 6pm wine on the patio for sunset. Pure heaven!

The cottage is located on the same property as three other rentals, a large house and two smaller once. Depending on how many of them are occupied, privacy can vary. During our stay the two smaller homes were rented as well. Unfortunately the backyard is not completely fenced, but there was on piece of fence that allowed us to block the one open spot, so our dogs didn’t run away. The cottage is big enough for two adults. The bathroom is fairly small, but is enough for a short stay. The living room and the kitchen are adjacent and are nice for cooking or spending time when you are not discovering Newport and the surrounding area. The location is perfect if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet spot after a long day of discovering Rhode Island, Martha Vineyard, Block Island and many other beautiful places.

Beautiful, peaceful and serene. A place to completely recharge! For both the 2 legged and 4 legged!

Place is perfect for a large group. All the bedrooms are lovely and basically equal sized. The house is well appointed with tons of towels which is such a help. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We had 5 kids and they enjoyed running laps around the house.

The Sea Glass Cottage was clean, had amazing views, organized, had everything we needed, and was located on what appeared to be the best part of the island. It was one of the few places where the home patio facing the water without a street obstruction. The decoration and amenities were in perfect condition, and decor was so cute and cozy. It was clearly thought through by a home decor professional. Great place for a couples getaway...coffee on the patio at sunrise, walks around historic farms and nature reserves, crabbing at the dedicated beach to the home and sunset walks on the sandy beach just a short drive away. Emily was so responsive to our questions especially since this was our first time to Air B&B...may have been too numerous. She was a delightful host.

We had such a lovely stay at Fly Fisher's Cottage! It was really easy to get to local restaurants and places to visit from here, and just as nice to walk around the neighborhood and visit the beach. The house was spotless and had everything we needed, and is very stylish to boot. Clare was super accommodating too. I would happily stay here again if we're in the area! P.s. Definitely visit Rome Point Cafe just around the corner, and try their griddled banana bread!

Melanie’s house is the perfect vacation house. As soon as you walk in you will be impressed. Beautiful beach decor, clean and well stocked with pretty much anything and everything you could ever need. The view from the top floor balcony is unbelievable!!! We stayed with my in-laws and our older son with his girlfriend for our younger ones URI graduation weekend and we will never forget the 5 days we spent there. We hope to come back soon!!!

We really enjoyed our stay. The view is surreal. Location is a bit far off but that what you want sometimes. Irrespective it’s not far away from anywhere you may need to go. Overall would go there again in the future.

We would love to return. We had a wedding a the Newport Beach house so it was super easy to walk across the street and walk back after the event.

I was so happy to have a room with a view of the ocean (though it included a view of some telephone lines and street lights, just fyi) and to be literally across the street from the beach. The room was spacious and calm, with lots of natural light, the bed was huge and comfy and clean, the parking was easy, and I really thought this was a great base for my Newport trip. Note; I stayed int he original building.

We had an amazing stay at Newport Beach Hotel & Suites’s! Our first night there was a wedding party who stayed up quite late but the hotel was very accommodating when it came to moving our room due to some late night noise. Kris at the front desk was absolutely amazing! Extremely friendly, going above and beyond answering questions and making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The location was right near the Newport downtown but far enough away that it wasn't too crowded when walking for coffee or grabbing lunch. Lastly, the rooms/bathrooms were renovated recently and were very nicely done!

I love this location. Huge rooms. Comfortable king size bed . Quiet. Great views. You can walk to this little beach around the corner. The kitchen has everything you need. Pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker. I bring my own food and cook. The tv has cable but I didn't see how to get Netflix. Also there are two big bathrooms. They have a pool but I haven't used it since I go in April. Newport is a quick drive over the bridge (there is a $4 toll fee- if you have EZpass no big deal). Plenty fo shops and restaurants in Newport and of course the huge mansions from the 1890's. It's about $50 to go into two of them. Or the Breakers, the most famous one is $35pp. Check out Bellevue Ave, its fabulous. I also like to eat at the Red Parrot. There are plenty of local shops to browse, and the Wharf where you can walk along the water. Parking is free in the winter/early spring. Check the signs cause they do have metered parking. I can usually find something, and there are lots you can pay per hour.

Clean, easy, 1 mile to downtown Newport, walk across to the beach, great parking. Good value, last min end of Summer booking.

We stayed for only 1 night. The description and reviews are accurate. The house was exactly what we needed. The location is great with an easy walk into town. Our son caught 3 fish off the dock. We loved our quick stay and would absolutely stay again.

Exactly what we were hoping for! Location and view were outstanding. The working dock was so fun to watch!! Everything was fantastic!!!

This place was fantastic! Loved the proximity to the beach, George’s, Block Island ferry and more!! Such a hidden gem and will definitely be back! Karen and Peter were excellent hosts and always responsive if we had any questions. The apartment was so cutely decorated too!

Went to Tom's place for a girl's trip and we had the best experience at his spot. His communication was fast and above and beyond what we were expecting, and his hospitality was bar none. He even was kind enough to offer us a late checkout so we could enjoy our last day. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in in any air bnb, and incredibly clean linens and bedding. We walked in and immediately felt cozy and at home. Not one thing out of place and pristinely clean. Great attention to detail both inside and outside of the Purple Ape Escape! There was so much to do on the grounds, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Do not hesitate to book with Tom, you will be returning!

Gorgeous view, great location, clean, comfortable, I can’t say enough good things. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We day-tripped to Boston and spent a lot of time in Newport, but we also LOVED the small town of Wickford that was close by. Lots of good restaurants. But I can honestly say I would have been content to just hang around the house and use the hot tub and kayaks. The back patio is incredible and the view is breathtaking. Get up and watch the sunrise over the water. You’ll thank me later. The place was only surpassed by the incredible hostess. Kelly was ultra-responsive, her restaurant recommendations were great, and she went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need. Including borrowing her sister’s pack N play so we could have 2 since we had several young kids with us. She set us up with things we didn’t even think to ask for. You can tell she’s been a hostess for a while. I can’t recommend this place enough.

This house is stunning! Fabulous hosts! The description is exactly as written! Comfortable beds, great appliances, bathrooms and sitting areas! The location is central to restaurants, beaches and the ocean. We celebrated our wedding weekend and this was a perfect place for me and my family to get ready for the big day! Highly recommend!

A perfect hosting host! Booked Kate’s home for my mom’s 60th birthday girls’ trip and they had the absolute best time. Easily walkable to local spots and accessible to downtown Newport via car. Lots of spaces for reading, relaxing, and enjoying each-other’s company. Kate was easy to communicate with and helped make the weekend go off without a hitch! Would highly recommend!!

My parents and I had a great stay here! It was cute and cozy. The short walk to the beach was great and waking up to the ocean view was amazing. I would definitely stay here again!

My partner and I spent a little less than a week at Christian's place and were already talking about booking it again for next year by day two. The location is simply unbeatable. It's super private, surrounded by trees and plants, has private access directly to the beach, and is a cozy, lovely place to stay. The perfect size for two -- felt very spacious. We went after Labor Day, so the beach was on the quiet side, but a number of local places had closed for the season (just be aware of that trade-off when booking off-season). Couldn't have asked for a better vacation spot. We will definitely be back! This is a special place.

The lighthouse location is truly unique and outstanding! The view of the from being right on the ocean and under the bridge is great. The place is spotless and well decorated for visitors. The locations is also super convenient for Bristol and Newport. We had a great long weekend and hope to return again!
