This is only for the truly adventurous that want to experience mountainous rural Japan with the most traditional experience possible. Emiko-san makes the most authentic traditional shikoku dinner and breakfast which is truly unforgettable. The hut is a beautiful preservation of traditional Japanese homes, renovated with a wide front facing glass wall that gives full view of the surrounding mountains. Hitoshi has also renovated the outside bath with a modern sink and provides clean towels etc. that you would expect of any modern accommodation, but it’s paired with the old Japanese wooden bath tub which Hitoshi fills with hot mountain water. But it’s important you know what you sign up for. It’s 1-2 hrs of winding and narrow mountain roads which we were lucky to do in the dry season. It would be quite horrifying in heavy rain. If you want real Japan and aren’t scared for a bit of adventure, this is an experience you won’t regret.

my husband and I had a wonderful stay at Yuki's Airbnb. she was a very thoughtful host and made sure our kumano kodo pilgrimage went smoothly. she even offered to pick us up at the world heritage center and drop us off an watase onsen, then drive us to the nearest grocery and back to her house. she also offered to drop us off at the bus stop the next day so that was very convenient! her Airbnb was a convenient place for a 1 night stay. and of course, the freshly baked bread was a nice touch! I just wish she had a sofa or living room- somewhere to lounge around or chill out.

It was a very pleasant inn, and I was able to refresh both my mind and body. I was healed many times by the carefully arranged space and garden, and the host's kind feelings. Drinking early morning coffee on the terrace while looking at Yatsugatake and listening to the birds chirping was really special. Thanks again for a great stay!

We had the best time in this old but very charming home. It had everything we needed and it was so relaxing and comfortable to be there. We enjoyed every moment of it and the quiet neighborhood. Yet it is still so easy to get on the train and travel around. We loved having the bikes to explore the pretty surroundings and for grocery shopping. Miki is the sweetest host, so friendly, helpful and kind and you feel she really wants you to have a wonderful time in her house. We are very happy we found this place for our holiday in Ogori, Japan. And we would love to come back again one day!

During my stay here, I enjoyed the clear air, flower paths, the sound of birds, and the scenery of nature where the bees were busy. Even if I didn't do anything, I felt relaxed and healed just being here. It's just a short stay, but it's a place where you can always stay for a long time. I'll see you again in the fall. Without exaggeration, I can say that this was my most wonderful AirBnB experience as a family so far. We jumped into the lake every morning, enjoyed the view towards mountains and savoured our breakfast in rural silence. We are travelling without a car and were able to reach the house very easily from the train station, even though we have a lot of luggage. For our 1.5 year old daughter, this was paradise. She enjoyed saying hello to the chickens, splashing in the lake or playing on the beach. Chie and Iain provided the perfect family friendly environment: a high chair, children's books and children's cutlery - nothing was missing. They gave us additional recommendations for activities with a child. All in all a 10 out of 10.

My family and I enjoyed this house very much, thanks to a wide range of facilities like swimming pool, BBQ pit, massage chair, jacuzzi and even a sauna. The highlight of our stay was watching a show using the projector and projecting it on the giant wall. Sleeping arrangements, however, might be tricky for families with kids - the two bedrooms are located on different floors and requires a short walking distance so that’s something to consider. Lastly, the photos listed are slightly misleading as new houses have been built around the area, so don’t use the photos as reference to find the place. We had the help of a neighbor to guide us to the house when we arrived.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very comfortable and quite a large house. It was also nice that there was a yard that we could hang out in. We also love that it was only a 10 minute walk to the entrance of the snow monkey park, which made it really easy to go see them. Lots of great little restaurants within walking distance as well. Great communication from Daniel And. We will definitely recommend this day to someone trying to enjoy a smaller area outside of Nagano and next to nature.

I don't usually leave reviews, but I'm leaving a review because it's one of the top three accommodations I've visited through Airbnb. My travel style is mainly to go to accommodations for a family of 4 adults, and I travel domestically about 5 times a year. I prioritize the comfort of the bedroom as a place to stay and the comfort of a home-like space, and I prefer a quiet private pension style with a private space to enjoy nature. When you visit a place, there are individual preferences, so it's natural that there are one or two things that are uncomfortable or unpleasant. I'm writing this review because this accommodation's value for money, details, and comfortable bedding fit my style of accommodation. From the private parking lot in front of the gate to the moment you enter the gate, you can feel the privacy of the private pension. Unlike other accommodations, it doesn't feel like the interior has been renovated, but it feels like it was built for the purpose of a modern luxury private accommodation from the time of completion. The living room is on the small side, but the importance of the guest's convenience and comfort is emphasized by the comfort of the bathroom, the mobile TV, and the various types of tableware. The spacious grounds are well-maintained, the interior throughout the interior, the comfort of the toilet space, the comfort of the sofa chair, etc. I feel that I have expertise in interior and furniture, so I feel that I have decorated the accommodation with affection, which makes me feel good. In particular, the independence of the bedroom, the comfort of the mattress and duvet (presumed to be goose), and the height of the pillow, etc. were very appropriate, so it was nice to be able to relax comfortably. It was a pity that the weather was rainy on the day of the visit, so I couldn't use the outdoor space. I don't usually leave reviews, but the whole family was very satisfied, so I'm leaving a review. If it matches your itinerary, I recommend staying here over other accommodations.

The host gave me a friendly guide to the accommodation, but when I went into the accommodation at night, I was a little lost in finding the accommodation, and the parking space was a little difficult. Nevertheless, it was a really pretty and peaceful place that I wanted to visit again next time. Surrounded by tangerine fields, I could see the tangerine field from anywhere from the window, and the scent of tangerine flowers made me feel better. It was so nice to have neat and comfortable props and atmosphere in the accommodation. The host continued to take care of any inconveniences, and it was helpful that he guided me to the destination and restaurants. I want to use it for my next visit. Thank you.

Nothing bad to say about this stay at all! Jay was incredibly friendly and welcoming and he shared so many local recommendations with us! Communication was also great and the place was incredibly beautiful and clean!

We choose this place because of its proximity to Gangreung (강릉) beach, about 30 minutes by car. Really a great place if you're looking for serenity and a break away from the city. It's a bit far from restaurants and other facilities, but there is a supermarket 10 minutes driving distance where you can buy provisions. The house is as described, two bedrooms with individual bathrooms. The one on the 1st floor has a bidet, which to me was heaven! The house was also properly heated so we got a much needed rest 🩶 I would definetely come back if I'm ever looking to recharge and get another break from all the buzz.

The outdoors is a canvas in itself, When you enter the interior, you will find a European-like interior. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, etc... It was so well equipped that there was nothing missing. Above all, the check-in time was fast and the checkout in the afternoon was the best. I love the furnace and the garden. I want to use it again when the day is a little loose and cool.

The accommodation is so quiet and nice! The family was very satisfied. Especially the bulmung!!!! I was very satisfied. It was raining, so it was hard to stay outside for a long time, and I was disappointed that I couldn't use all the firewood I bought, but I was still so happy on my early family summer trip.

One of our most beautiful Airbnb experiences ever! Our time in Azumino was just magical – so much so that we spontaneously extended it. The property is fantastically quiet in the middle of the Japanese Alps, surrounded by nature and an almost meditative silence. An ideal location to unwind and re-energize. But what made this experience really special was our host Hiro. He is an incredibly warm-hearted person who takes care of his guests with all their heart. Thanks to his warmth, care and wonderful recommendations, we felt at home from the first moment. We would particularly like to recommend the private onsen, which takes the feel-good factor to a whole new level – simply wonderful after a day in the mountains. Also the cafes and restaurants in the area that Hiro recommended to us were all without exception lovingly managed and really good. We would come back anytime – thank you for everything, dear Hiro!

Yj’s place is located in quiet, peaceful neighborhood but less than 10 minutes drive from restaurants, shops, and the beach. The place is modern, plenty of space for family of four, pristine, and has all amenities to feel like home away from home. Yj is one of the best hosts that we’ve experienced throughout our travels around the world. He goes above and beyond to make his guests feel comfortable. He also provides his list of recommendations and bunch of surprises when you arrive. You won’t regret it. thank you again for an unforgettable experience.

It's a great place to visit with kids~ The kids were so happy because there was a pick-your-own experience area behind the accommodation, where you could pick cherry tomatoes, peppers, raspberries, and apples. There weren't many fruits because the timing was ambiguous, but the children loved it so much that they went out to pick raspberries every morning ^^ It is suitable for families to come and play with one bathroom, two rooms, and one living room. It was a good experience for city kids to pick lettuce, red pepper, and garlic and eat them. On the way back, the owner grandfather packed me a bunch of onions, garlic, apples, and sesame seeds that he had grown himself, and I came back with heavy hands. I think I'll remember this warm accommodation for a long time because it's my first time staying in a place like this! I think I'll have to come back next time!

This place is best to just stay and take in the sorroundings because IT IS BEAUTIFUL! The environment is relaxing with a flowing stream beside the cabin and nature all around. Id love to spend more time just relaxing and taking in the Niseko charm even if its not covered in snow 😊

Yoshi's place was a nice reset from the business of Tokyo. Finding the home was easy and the check in process was smooth. The place was extremely clean, kitchen was stocked with breakfast sandwiches which was a thoughtful touch and we loved the early check-in and late check-out option ! Keep in mind that there is another Airbnb across the street so you don't have an unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji, but it's still a great view and I would highly recommend Yoshi's place!

Junko’s place is beautiful and incredibly well decorated. Every aspect is taken care of to make you feel cozy and welcome. Junko was very kind and welcomed us with a ride from the train station and a tour of the place. The place is located in a very beautiful part of the country, with lots of temples, shrines, and scenic routes nearby. We also were able to easily do daytrips to Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Young Hee’s place was very clean and well kept. Love the views from the garden. Young Hee and Ji Hee were so sincere and prompt in our online interaction and face-to-face communication. We wish both of them well and will definitely return when we come back to Jeju ❤️
