Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in South Kona

We highly recommend staying at Santai Cottage. The setting was very beautiful, peaceful and private. We enjoyed having the beach gear, hot tub and option to cook our own meals. Lots of windows and covered porches for a true indoor/outdoor living experience. We had everything we needed for an excellent stay. Thank you Karen, you were a great host!

Fantastic stay - best place to stay on the Big Island! What an amazing location, with a fantastic view! Private and relaxing, looking out onto coffee trees and the ocean. The place is everything that's promised and more. Great kitchen for cooking dinner if you don't feel like going out, an amazing outdoor shower, a GIANT TV for the times you want to just relax, and outdoor space that's private and tranquil. Everyone I communicated with was immediately responsive, and had suggestions for places to go (especially coffee farms), and responded very quickly. I can't recommend this place enough - we may be coming back again and staying here if it's available again! PS - the frogs: some people may love them, some may not like the noise. I didn't mind them at all at night, and had a white noise app in case they were very vocal (especially after the rain). Never did see one. Oh! And considering it's in the upcountry, no bugs/minimal wildlife, nothing to stress you out!

First thing I must say is that the beds were very comfortable! The location was great, not too far from Kona activity but far enough away you can feel like you’re in the quiet country. (Minus the charming frogs at night but it was cool enough to shut the windows). Excellent view of the ocean. Having laundry was so helpful. We had 5 people there. A little tight… perfect for 4 but it was fine for 5 using pull out couch. Would definitely stay again!

Wow. What a spectacular place. A true eco-jungle-lodge-type experience. The location, the home, the host's communication and aloha spirit - everything was fantastic. Highly recommend 4WD / AWD car for the driveway, although we made it work with a sedan (kind of comical, actually). We are an adventurous family of four adults (2 grown kids) that likes experiences and lodging that would be the opposite of a cruise ship or resort. This place was perfect for us. We will be back!

We wanted to stay somewhere away from the city and have more of a genuine Hawaiin experience and we couldn't have been happier with our time at Kat and Joe's. Their property is serene, the proximity to the beautiful beaches is perfect and they are kind, welcoming hosts. We hope to stay there again sometime soon!

Beautiful and peaceful location. Watch gorgeous sunsets with panaromic voews pf the ocean right from the deck! Great snorkeling close by if you're comfortable getting in from rocks. Private pool to enjoy when you've had enough salt water for the day.

Beautiful home and property, comfortable, the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. Attention to detail throughout the home. Host was friendly and responsive, we plan to stay at this location again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay at Chris’ place. The morning views were nice, the sunset was beautiful . We like how there are 2 bathrooms, extra towels, washer and dryer provided. The place was clean and cozy! We appreciate the small gesture of a welcoming box of chocolates and coffee pods. Very attentive host. Thank you for a great stay.

The location is great, with an amazing ocean view. The host is friendly, making everything easy. No complicated house rules and check-out to-do list 🙌 Also, I loved that they provided beach chairs and an umbrella—definitely made my beach days a lot better. If you're looking for a laid-back spot to relax, highly recommend it!

What a great place to stay if you are visiting the Volcano area. The unit is warm and inviting and in a great little bush setting. Ideal for a base camp just 8 minutes from the National Park. The unit is just as described and a nice little breakfast was supplied. Highly recommended for a stay.

The house was cozy and comfortable. We loved the outdoor shower & jacuzzi. Kathleen was very friendly, she explained everything in the house and gave us a warm welcome. There was fresh fruit from the garden for us every day! We would definitly recommend this place!

Kathy’s place was perfect for us near Kona and close to everything. She was extremely helpful and responsive and we would rent again!

Really liked this place. easy walk on alii drive to restaurants and local spots. 2-3 local beaches nearby. pool and the black rocks behind it with the ocean view was beautiful at sunset. Exactly what was expected! Safe area. Loved the extra touches like the macadamia nut pancake mix :)

Wow and wow! Joyce and Zac have gone above and beyond to create a space that is comfortable and private. While the accommodations are indeed attached to their home, the retreat presents like a private apartment. The kitchen is well-stocked, making it easy to cook in for meals, if desired. Nothing has been forgotten concerning the little touches that make traveling easier, so we would consider this rental much better than a hotel. There is no air-conditioning, but numerous fans are provided and we were comfortable during our June stay. The online pictures very accurately depict what you'll see when you arrive. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We whole-heartedly recommend this rental and plan to return on our next trip to Kona.

We had the most incredible stay at this Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine aloha spirit. The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had every amenity we could ask for. The view was nothing short of breathtaking, and sipping coffee on the lanai while listening to the birds was pure paradise. The host was exceptional—friendly and responsive! We had a fantastic stay at Adam’s peaceful home near Kona. The property is quiet, beautifully maintained, and just a 7-minute drive to town — the perfect mix of nature and convenience. The space was spotless and fully stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the beach chairs, towels, umbrella, and the relaxing hot tub. Honestly, the hot tub was even more soothing than an onsen we’ve experienced in Japan — especially with the surrounding sounds of birds and rustling trees. The full kitchen made it easy to cook, and we loved having dinners outside under the stars. The deck and garden felt like a private retreat — calm, lush, and peaceful. Nature’s sounds at night were magical. Adam was an amazing host — warm, responsive, and thoughtful. And his sweet dog and cat made us smile every time we saw them — they added a lovely, homely touch. We highly recommend this place to couples looking for a quiet, cozy escape on the Big Island. We’d love to return. Mahalo!

We loved staying here! The location was close to many things in the Kona area. The dedicated parking spot made it easy to come and go. The mini-split AC was quiet and kept the place cool. The in-unit laundry was great too.

Kirk was a great host, super responsive and flexible. His place was clean and tidy, and had everything we needed. The location is super walkable to the downtown strip.

Airbnb stay was very comfortable and amazing! The place was very clean and was at an ideal location - very close to various restaurants. Nicholas was very responsive and gave great clear instructions for check in. Just a note - there are quite a few cats on the property. Most of them keep to themselves, but a couple are extra friendly and might even follow you to your unit. It’s worth noting this isn’t Nicholas’s fault—just part of the local environment. If you’re a cat lover, you’ll probably enjoy their company! If not, just be aware. Otherwise, everything was clean, comfortable, and as described. Nicholas was a responsive and thoughtful host.

place was beautiful! spacious and very well kept. location was great just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of the strip down the road. host was responsive and helpful!

We read reviews about bugs and a bad smell, however we had no issues with either. Place felt very clean and smelled great, has all the amenities and appliances that we needed. Even had a boogie board in the closet that we could use which was fun! Overall great place, right by tons of restaurants and stores as well as the shoreline.
