About 1 hour by car from downtown Kyoto, about 20 minutes by bus from Azumikawa Station on the JR Kusai Line, about 10 minutes by taxi. It is popular with overseas customers, families, and groups. A BBQ set is also available for rent. BBQ equipment is available for a fee, so please let us know. Free parking on premises. Up to 3 regular cars can be parked. For large vehicles, it may be difficult to accommodate 3, so please contact us in advance. If you consult with us in advance, we can also lend it for a fee. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

YAMANOTE HOUSE is accessible from major Kansai stations with 37min from Kyoto Sta. or 65min from Osaka Sta. If you come by car from Kyoto it takes less than 1 hour. The area aournd the house is once small castle town. The house is located next to the Shrine, Hiyoshi-Jinja, where the Omizo Festival is held on May 3 and 4 every year.

We have a Canadian house, just a stone through away from the beautiful Lake Biwa. Suitable place to stay for family trip, with friends and work trip. For 7guests or less, we rent 3 bed rooms (with 8 beds) For 8guests or more, we can rent the extra cabin space which is still part of the building but usually there is no access.(5 bed rooms and an attic, 12 beds and extra bathroom) please see photos and enquire within. - No Party - No BBQ after 9pm
