Le Nid is 1 of a set of 2 delightful 3 bedroomed rural gîtes in sunny southwest France. Nestled in a valley 5kms from L’Absie in the Deux-Sèvres. The shared pool is NOW HEATED. There is a wildlife pond and hectare of land where the only sounds you can hear are birdsong, frogs, the wind in the trees and possibly a tractor in the distance. You may even catch a glimpse of a red squirrel. Bounded by a stream surrounded by farmland and from the grounds, you can access walking and cycling routes.

Our cottage has been sympathetically renovated and is a uniquely individual space retaining a wealth of originality, blended perfectly with a contemporary feel. We can welcome 6, with two double bedrooms and a large double sofa-bed in the galleried landing area. A spacious living area leads to a quiet outdoor patio with rural views. The grounds the cottage are located in are surrounded by a large moat which contains unprotected deep water. Unsuitable for young unsupervised children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the farmhouse, at La Blatiere. If you want to be off the beaten track in a very pretty and relaxing location, this is ideal, whilst there are also plenty of places to visit within an hour or so. The pool was also a big plus, which we used every day. The roads are very quiet with no traffic. We visited local places and also had chilled days 'on site' so the pool, the bikes to borrow and the games room were fun additions to have. The accommodation was very comfortable and well equipped. Thank you Lesley and Paul. Fab hosts!

Excellent stay in this small renovated sheepfold with its terrace (the good weather allowed us to enjoy it during meals). The cottage is very comfortable, in the countryside (no noise) and is perfect for 2 or 3 people. The bedding is comfortable. The welcome is warm and the small touches on arrival were pleasant. 😋 We recommend this cottage without hesitation.

A perfect stay! Very comfortable, clean and extremely well-equipped accommodation. Everything is designed for a pleasant stay, whether for work or vacation. Quality bedding, modern kitchen with everything you need (special mention for the Dolce Gusto coffee maker!), spacious bathroom and very cozy sitting area. The laundry room is a real plus for longer stays. It feels like home. Responsive and welcoming host. I highly recommend it! Marcel
