Cottage holiday rentals in West Lothian

My favourite Air BnB i have stayed in so far. It is newly opened so everything is fresh and new, however it is on an existing bed and breakfast space which has a beautiful garden which is well maintained and the inn itself is well looked after, the leads me to believe even after it has been open for some time, Alan will keep the place well looked after. The host, Alan, was a lovely gentleman, you can tell he cares for his business and enjoys hosting, on arrival he gave us local recommendations for food and even the best way to travel in to Edinburgh. During our stay in the separate building to the inn we felt we had our own private space, the hot tub is located on the opposite side to the inn, so you are private to other guests in the separate building. 5/5 starts for everything! An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

We absolutely loved staying at the cottage. This was our third place during our Scotland trip and I am so glad we booked it. It allowed us to explore more nature scenes across Scotland and simply have a safe and comfortable home after exploring all day. If we are ever in Scotland again, we will certainly book again.

The cottage was gorgeously idyllic and private. The cottage itself was super well appointed and comfortable. The exterior was landscaped beautifully and the views were breathtaking. We got engaged during our visit because my fiancé was moved to propose due to the perfect setting. We will return if we are back in the area.

We had a wonderful stay with my family at this historic cottage. Especially loved the easy access to the Fife Coastal Path that we walked daily into Burntisland or Aberdour. Excellent hosts as well. Thank you for your hospitality, we would highly recommend this property!

We had a really lovely stay at the cottage, and as others have said the games room is fabulous fun, the horses were a huge hit with our kids, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub after a fun day out! Thank you again Helen and family for a super place to relax and have great fun. We really enjoyed our visit.

We had a wonderful stay for our mini moon!! Our hosts where friendly and helpful we invited them for a drink with us it was fantastic knowing how they designed the place and their lives and points of interest for us to look out for. We enjoyed the hot tub so much and using the BBQ!! Was tidy and comfortable perfect for a couples get away. I highly recommend staying here the bus stop was just a minute walk from the front door and so close to Edinburgh!!

We enjoyed our stay. The location was rural but you are near Edinburgh and Glasgow. The cottage was fantastic and everything was immaculate. The rooms were lovely and spacious and each bedroom had its own en-suite. There was everything you need for your holiday. Janet was friendly and really helpful. We would definitely book this cottage again.

A beautiful area to visit with lots to see and do within a short distance. The cottage was pristine, well appointed and lived up to expectations. Very comfortable beds in deed! Lots of little personal touches were truly appreciated. I would highly recommend this property.

The best we ever visited! During the last 8 years we travel Europe with our dog and had a lot of houses between Italy and Norway, but this is No.1. (OK together with that beautiful place in Norway 😉). Even our too early appearance caused no problems (one day!). The rooms are much better than they look at the photos. We relaxed in a way we didn’t have before. Art and leisure in perfect constellation! You have to get the Marmelade from the shop, it’s great! Whenever we are in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 again, we will return. And for our German fellow countryman:“ Super gemütlich und wirklich stylisch mit Kunst!“ By the way, it’s located in a art park, what we didn’t realized before! Was a nice little place, cozy and comfortable

Lovely hosts, they were always quick to respond to any questions I had. It was a quiet and cosy place to stay which stayed warm despite us staying in winter. Would recommend to others.

Such a lovely place, the house is in a unique position a little above the main street and the views are exceptional. South Queensferry is a pretty little town with lots of restaurants, pubs and independent shops plus easy to get into Edinburgh (car, train, bus). The house is so well thought through, clean, tidy and cleverly makes the most of the space. A really special place to spend your break.

Fabulous cottage. Had everything we needed. Very high spec. Really convenient for visiting Edinburgh and Glasgow. But also very peaceful in the countryside. A lot to see locally too.

The hosts Catherine and Charles were totally fabulous very welcoming and full of great of ideas and tips of where to visit. We loved staying in The Bothy and it was the perfect place for our holiday very comfortable, clean and well equipped. will be staying again! thank you!

A gem in the countryside. Our Host was very clear on all instructions and friendly during all communications. We enjoyed the beautiful view with glorious sunsets. A very convenient and clean chalet with a playhouse for kids as well. The price was very reasonable and we will definitely be staying here again when back in this area. The underfloor heating was such a bonus!Many thanks!☺️

The place is amazing .. surrounding is surreal. We had a great time. Major super markets / stores are 15 mins drive. But that is ok... we chose for it. We chose to be away from Edinburgh. This place is 35/40 mins beautiful drive from Edinburgh. The estate in which this place is situated is beautiful. The owner allowed us to roam around and explore. If you are countryside fan, you would love it.

Host was excellent. And the place we stayed was lovely and we felt like home and we never had a heart to leave in 2 days. Will definitely visit next time. Clean property and there were instructions in a notebook to visit places nearby. Kids enjoyed the backyard and we had a great time. Thanks a lot Ross

We had a lovely few days, staying at Appletree Cottage, with our two grandchildren aged 6 and 3. The cottage was very comfy and well equipped, and ideally suited our needs. Good location for many attractions such as Blair Drummond Safari Park, Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. We were lucky to have good weather so the excellent play area and hot tub were much enjoyed each day. Would definitely recommend booking.

Felt very at home in a lovely steading in a peaceful location which is excellently sited for amenities including easy access to the motorway and neighbouring towns. Great stay, will definitely stay there again.

Escape from it all. Serene, idyllic, stunning. Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Off the beaten track, surrounded by wildlife. Comfortable and stylish place to stay. Highly recommended.

We cannot recommend these lovely cottages enough! The location is great - so quiet and peaceful, yet only a short drive to Linlithgow where you can easily get the train to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. The cottage itself was clean and had everything we needed. Nice outdoor space, ample parking and good facilities all around. If/when we're back in this neck of the woods, this is where we'll be staying!
